Just ten minutes from Caernarfon and nestled at the foothills of Snowdon, Llys Derwen Caravan and Camping is a family-friendly site that offers a peaceful base for Snowdonia. Tents are welcome on non electric grass pitches and tourers can pitch up on electric grass pitches. Within 20 minutes of the coast you will be in a prime location for days out at local attractions like Caernarfon Castle or exploring the surrounding landscapes!

The campsite was in a beautiful location. Reception team were really friendly and helpful. Indoor toilet and shower blocks were very clean and showers were hot. The indoor dishwashing block was also a brilliant touch. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything you need! Facilities were spotless and we had a lovely peaceful stay. Just the one night for us, but we'd stay here again if in the area.

Very nice campsite, away from busy roads, but easy connections to all places in the area. Large pitches, very clean facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely cat.

What can I say? Llys Derwen is a family run sit, from the location, facilities, cleanliness (grounds and guest facilities)and even the WIFI was decent, I cannot fault a thing. Nathan was busy when we arrived, but came to say hello. We could tell he puts his heart and soul into all he does. Always around if needed but un-intrusive too. In a nutshell, it's perfect!

A very clean, well run and welcoming site. In a perfect position for getting to all the valleys and access to the mountains. The facilities were all very clean with loads of hot water, though perhaps for the number of people, more toilets and showers would be nice.

Jonathan, thank you for taking the time to give us such a good review. We've just been named in the Top 10 Campsites in the UK so our demand has increased so we will be investing in new toilet blocks for 2025. But rest assured the ones we have will remain the cleanest in Wales :)

If I could give more stars for cleanliness I would. An exceptionally clean, lovely site. Really friendly owner, who runs it very well. The first night, we encountered some issues with a loud and noisy group of guests who went on to cause a little trouble, and were evicted the following morning early. Similarly, the regular campsite goers dealt with a group of lads flying a drone around the tents and the cars early one morning. In our previous experience on static caravan sites, this kind of behaviour rarely got met with a firm hand and it was reassuring. Having small children, to know that the sites rules are enforced fairly and by all. Thank you for a wonderful stay and a lovely holiday.

Had a brilliant few days. This site is immaculate, so clean and well kept. Toilets and showers were cleaned several times every day. Nathan was very friendly and helpful and should be very proud. Would definitely recommend.

We’ve been camping for 20 years and never stayed on a site where the owner is so welcoming, helpful, friendly and relaxed! The toilets and showers were sparklingly clean. We had a great corner pitch. The best bit of the holiday though was meeting the site’s cat Maui. She likes to check in with you daily!! We’ll definitely be back!

Very clean and well presented site. Owner very helpful without being overbearing. Located 1/2 way between Llanberis (Snowden base and Carnarvon).

We spent four nights on this site and found it to be a good clean site. Plenty of hot water for showers and washing up. Showers were always clean, and I never had to queue. There are three fields and we were on the middle field, which although sloped, was stepped so that you could get a level pitch. Nathan advised on how to park so that we were level. Friendly family run site - the cat was a bonus (for us). Electric and water were on the pitch so no need to go far or extra long lead. We will be back to explore this part of Wales again.

Excellent campsite, good facilities and wonderful location, wish we had time to stay longer. Subject to time of year, fresh eggs also available, pub within a short walking distance and circa 10 - 15 minutes back to Llanberis lake.

From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in warmth and hospitality by our delightful host, Nathan, who made us feel right at home. The campsite was an absolute dream! Immaculately clean and well-maintained, it felt like we had stepped into a nature lover's paradise. The facilities were spotless, and the attention to detail was evident everywhere we looked. One of the highlights of our stay was the serene peace and quiet, surrounded by the gentle whispers of the trees and the soothing songs of the birds. As a dog family, we were thrilled to find a secure dog field on-site, allowing The Beags to run freely and safely. The entire campsite is wonderfully dog-friendly, making it a perfect spot for families with pets. Another delightful surprise was the locally sourced honey and eggs sold on-site. Fresh and delicious, they added a touch of local flavour to our meals and made our stay even more special. If you're looking for a campsite that offers a warm welcome, pristine surroundings, and a tranquil atmosphere, look no further than Llys Derwen. We can't wait to return to this little slice of heaven! 🌲✨🏕️🐾

Thank you Nathan for looking after us so well. The campsite is a gem. It is spotless. Location could not be better and your personality shines through it all. Nathan helped us when we arrived on a flatbed, organised a mechanic and made sure the van worked before we left. Thank you!

We booked for four nights and stayed for nine! The cleanest campsite we’ve ever stayed on. The toilets and washing up rooms smelt like a spa. Great location. We’re going back again in in few months.

Well, what an amazing little site. Nathan popped round to introduce himself after we had set up and what a lovely fella. The site is beautifully clean and it is very impressive just how well kept everything is. The pitches are a fantastic size so you don't feel all crammed together like lots of other places. Nathan gave us lots of tips, like where and when to get the Sherpa bus so my husband could climb Snowdon, to where the next shops and food places were. But to top it all off, I think our little one had an amazing time, as he's obsessed with animals and Nathan took him into the chicken coup to see and feed the chickens and collect the eggs. Ollie hasn't stopped talking about the chickens and the crazy chicken who escaped. We will be back soon and for a longer stay next time.

This campsite is absolutely spotless! I can honestly say I have never stayed at a campsite as clean and tidy as this. From the toilets to the showers and the dishwashing room, whatever time of day or night, everything was immaculate. The bins were tidy, everything is laid out really well, and there's a little shop with ice creams and drinks. Nathan is incredibly welcoming and helpful, you can tell he takes a great deal of pride in his work, and it shows in the quality of this campsite. The only minor negative is that there's quite a bit of road noise. Within a couple of days, you genuinely start to tune it out.

Very welcoming, friendly and informative host. Site was excellent - spacious pitches on well maintained mown grass. Toilets and showers always clean anytime of day or night. Handy pub 5 mins walk, good food and friendly staff. Zip World 20 mins drive away. Would go again. Thank you.

We toured the NC500 and then did the three peaks on the way home, finishing with Snowdon. Granted, we had beautiful weather, but the campsite/motorhome site was immaculate and so beautifully well looked after. Nathan (owner) was amazing and went far beyond the call of duty and such a great and friendly host. All the facilities were well up to date and very clean, tidy and well organised. We've stayed in a lot of different places and locations over the years and this was without doubt one of, if not, my all time favourite (without even taking into account its affordability and glorious weather). We will be back on our next adventure to wales. Biggest mistake - only staying 1 night
