Lovely campsite, great views and clean facilities
VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Small Campervan/Car/Van/Roof Tent Pitch 5m (Optional Electric) Sep 2025 We had a brilliant stay at Spring Field Dark Sky Eco Campsite - super friendly welcome and really speedy check-in.
We had a great pitch with a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside. We hired a fire pit for both nights and everything we needed was provided - the fire pit made a very enjoyable and memorable stay. The campsite was easy to find and the facilities were really clean.
In the evening we heard a tawny owl and had a great evening for star gazing. Great campsite, would definitely come again!

The owl is resident in the oak tree on most nights. We love our wild life.
A great weekend had by all
Medium Tent - Grass Family Tent 3-6m Large Pitch (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 On arrival, we were directed to our tent site. Malcom was very friendly and accommodating and we were put next to another family with similar aged children, which was a great added bonus. Ground slightly sloped but wasn't an issue once we set up the tent.
The site is very remote, which is fab for the dark skies part. We saw shooting stars & loads of stars. It is about 20 mins to get anyone on 1 lane country roads but we didn't find this much of an issue. We had a lovely curry in Much Wenlock and we went to the local National Trust Attingham Park.
There are 2 female, 2 male toilet blocks, which were always stocked with toilet paper and looked clean whenever I visited. There is 1 male, 1 female shower, I usually had to wait a couple of mins for it to be free but no too much of an issue.
Several drinking taps around the site. We did not use any of the communal fire pit or hire as due to the weather, open fires were banned which was fine, however can't comment on the pizza oven you can hire.
Due to this they had a Thai van on site, unfortunately would not recommend at all. Save your money and cook your own or go out to eat.
Overall, a great experience and we would definitely go back.

This was a very busy Bank Holiday weekend and we were lucky to have several families with children on site.
The good weather, alas, brought a campfire ban as we are surrounded by tinder dry farmland. Even our famous Wrekin was on fire last week.
The Thai Food van was here to help a new business enterprise and also to give campers a choice as to whether to cook or have something a little different.
It was up to individual choices and budgets or pure camping experiences.

Great bank holiday camping
Extra Large Tent - Grass Large Tent, Trailer Tent Pitches 6-8m (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Great site and fantastic location. Very clean toilets and showers. The hosts were amazing and very friendly, we even had the good fortune to have some free freshly laid eggs from the resident chickens.
Can't wait to return and do a bit more exploring. Thanks for letting us stay.

Great find in a great place
Small Tent - Grass Bivy/Backpacker Tent Pitch (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Friendly welcome, great info sheet, instructions were clear. Amazing WiFi, central fire pit available with seating on picnic benches.
Place to charge electrical and a fridge/freezer available. Fresh eggs available in site as well as to the chickens that provide them. Single track road in most places enroute to the site, if you have a caravan, it might not be great if you are not an experienced driver. We were fine in a small Transporter type van. Very picturesque journey to site. Really amazing dark skies area, with lots to do in the area.
Clean facilities. Quiet site. Really enjoyed our stay and we will be back.

Brilliant
Medium Tent - Grass Family Tent 3-6m Large Pitch (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 The site was beautiful, and the two hosts could not have done more for us.
The site is clean, has lovely bathrooms which are clean and a lovely pod where you could charge things and sit of the weather was bad. We were lucky, the weather was great and if we had been able to stay longer then we would definitely have made use of the communal fire pit. The only thing that may have been helpful was a fold down table for in the shower to give you some more space to put things, especially if it was wet.
The site was clean, fantastic views and great location. Thank you.

Stunning, peaceful location
VW-Type Campervan - Grass Small Campervan/Car/Van/Roof-Tent 5m max (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 We had a quick stop over here for one night and visited much Wenlock. The campsite was in a stunning location over looking fields and hills with the sunset in clear view. The night sky was amazing especially as there was a meteor shower happening while we were there.
The campsite owners were lovely and the facilities immaculate! Can't fault it at all and will definitely return.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Grass Large Campervan/Roof Tent Pitches 5-7m (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Linda and Malcolm could not have been nicer. We had a lovely chat with them. A well travelled couple.
The site was perfect. Shower and toilet facilities spotless. No cheap toilet paper used here.
Could not fault the place. Highly recommend should also mention the stunning views.

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Small Campervan/Car/Van/Roof Tent Pitch 5m (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Booked on the same day and site is clean, calm would use again sometime if weather was not so windy.
Would be nice to have a bbq but as its on hight winds hit it and wasn't allowed to have fire on other than that beautiful site.

We are sorry for the wind but it happened to be the named storm in Scotland and Northern Ireland and the north of England.
We were lucky in comparison but we also have some amazing calm nights here and hopefully you will try again.
Superb dog free holiday
Motorhome - Grass Motorhome Pitches 7m (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 I chose this site as it is one of very few that do not allow dogs. Total peace and lovely owners who were so welcoming.

It was a bold decision but not one we regret as it means the field is clean for children to play and we are not faced with aggressive dogs or their owners.
It's a shame a few spoiled it for the calmer dogs.

Small Tent - Grass Bivy/Backpacker Tent Pitch (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 If you want a quiet site and location, Springfield is spot on.
Great host owners, Malcolm and Linda, run this small and personally run site in a very rural location with amazing views across Shrewsbury, The Lawley hill, and the Shropshire countryside. Loads of space, electric hook up if wanted, hired fire pits only and bought wood. Eggs from Linda's lovely birds (the chooks).
Male and female shower and loo, plus two male and female loos. Wash up area. The (wooden) Pod good for 4 to sit and watch the sun then moon go down, no light pollution to see the stars on clear nights. Totally recommend, smashing couple, will be back.

Peaceful Small Tent - Grass Bivy/Backpacker Tent Pitch (Optional Electric) Jun 2025 Good location, but only two toilets and two showers that did not drain.

We had to point out to you that you had in fact booked 3 backpacker tents and in fact arrived with 3 medium tents taking up substantially more room and thus incurring a surcharge. We also would like to point out that we have 2 separate male and 2 separate female toilets (which can easily be utilized by either sex if in urgent need) and each shower has a separate toilet with it.
The blockage was unfortunate and very easily rectified by removing the small amount of hair from the plughole, which was done by our maintenance man as soon as notified. We do not feel that your criticisms were all justified.
We take constructive criticism very seriously but on this occasion we are happy with our service.

Beautiful views but can be very windy Single Axle Caravan - Small Grass Caravan Pitches 6m (Optional Electric) May 2025 A small hill top site with beautiful views but can be very windy. Some sloping pitches. We stayed for 7 nights in May half term.
Good points were that it was a generally peaceful site, apart from the howling winds (we were unfortunate with the weather). When the wind stops, it is perfect, with beautiful, far reaching views. However, as it is on top of a hill, it can be particularly windy. I met the site manager, James, on our last day and he was charming and very concerned to hear some of my comments and genuinely seemed to care and want to improve matters. A nice, safe place for children to play as no cars allowed on site apart from setting up and packing away tent/caravan. Several water taps so no need to walk far to get water. A hairdryer in the ladies shower room.
Negative points were that there was cold water only in the small hand washbasins and washing up sink. Ladies shower temperature was very variable - boiling hot then freezing cold, then just right for a few seconds before the cycle restarted. I did point this out to James who said he was unaware and would inform the owners and hopefully get this fixed, so this was potentially a recent problem.
We didn't feel that the site provided good value for money. We have been to other similar sites with hot water for washing and washing up which have cost half as much.

We’re sorry to hear you experienced issues with the shower temperature, this was the first we were made aware of it, and it was fixed the following day. Hot water will also be added to the outdoor washing-up area soon, as part of our ongoing improvements.
We genuinely appreciate constructive feedback and are committed to continuing to improve the site for all our guests. We’re always working to improve and offer a low-impact camping experience in keeping with our eco values.

Everything about this site was great, from the warm welcome, to the views and facilities. Nothing was too much trouble. We will certainly be back!

Incredibly peaceful with amazing views
VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Small Campervan/Car/Van/Roof Tent Pitch 5m (Optional Electric) Mar 2025 Such an incredibly serene and peaceful campsite, the views were stunning with a brilliant view over the hills during sunset. Shut your eyes and all you hear is the birds chirping and the buzz of the insects, even on a chilly March morning.
James was a great host, very friendly and explained everything clearly. Lots of drinking water sources around the field along with electric for those who choose it.
Absolutely will be coming again, maybe on a day where my toes aren't frosty.

A warm welcome on a cold, February night

Site was clean and easy to find/access. Nice pubs nearby at Much Wenlock. James checked in on us in the morning even offering us fresh eggs from his hens.

The location is fantastic in the countryside, with long views of the surrounding hills. James was very friendly and helpful, there was everything you could want.
