About the site

Set by the Nantcol River where you can go swimming and paddling, this site is the perfect location to switch off and enjoy the great outdoors. The campsite provides a peaceful base in Snowdonia National Park, a 20 minute drive from Barmouth and its sandy beach, with Snowdon within an hour's drive too. Tents, caravans, campervans, motorhomes and RVs are welcome across the site's grass pitches. Non electric pitches are unmarked and unallocated, so simply choose your perfect spot across the seven acres of flat ground. There are 16 amp electric grass pitches available too which are located in a field away from the river. These pitches are marked and assigned. If you would like one of these, simple add an electric hook up as an extra when you book! For a little more luxury, there are a range of glamping options on offer. There are a pair of spacious 5m bell tents with waterside views, each sleeping up to four with a furnished interior, heating and electric. Each comes with a double bed, two single sofa beds, lighting and a cool box, with shared facilities nearby. Do note, bedding and linen are not provided. Ideal for two, there are also cosy glamping pods which come equipped with a double bedroom and bedding, plus an open plan living area with a Smart TV, WiFi and speakers for chilling out. In the kitchen, you will find a combi microwave, electric hob and fridge/freezer. Underfloor heating will keep you warm, and there is also an ensuite with a walk-in shower and loo. For enjoying your stunning setting, there is also a private patio with a fire pit for toasting marshmallows. Surrounding string lights also keep the outdoors lit at night. Up to two dogs are welcome per pitch, but do note dogs cannot stay in the pods and bell tents. Evenings can be spent enjoying a BBQ (must be raised from the ground) or you can hire a fire pit onsite and toast marshmallows under the stars. There is even a visiting pizza van in summer! Please note, the site does not allow any amplified music.

A note from the site themselves...

Here at Nantcol Waterfalls, this privately owned farmland boasts natural beauty amongst its woodland and river. It is too pretty to be kept a secret so we've created four different walks for you to explore nature. All of the routes start from the car park so as not to invade the camping ground.

The original nature trail opened in 1970 and has information plaques along the route that will explain the formation of this terrain through the centuries and will take around an hour to complete. We also have the Children's Island Walk, The Riverside Walk and The Woodland Walk so there is truly a route for everyone!

Small Tent - Grass Camping PitchesMay 2025

All 5* stunning campsite with fantastic views and access to beautiful walks. The only thing I'd say that would improve the facilities is a couple of hairdryers. I have showers in the evenings and going to bed with wet hair in a tent wasn't that great. Thanks for a great stay otherwise.
