Brilliant stay!

First time stay at this brilliant campsite. Loads, and I mean loads, of space! No overcrowding squeezing you on to a grid of pitches like some sites do. The site has a warm and friendly vibe, the staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area whilst at the same time leaving you in peace to enjoy your stay. We don't have young children, but there is a park and the site feels very safe. We stayed at height of summer, and were always able to get a hot shower no matter what time of day! Shower block really well thought through and the individuality for each shower is fun and practical. There are comments about no hand soap, but the shower block is for washing so if you need the loo whilst you're there you'll have your own products. There is a separate toilet block with plenty of soap - this encourages people to not take up a shower cubicle for just toileting. Laundry room very handy with 2 sinks for indoor washing up too. There are also 2 outdoor sinks next to the shower block. Everyone clears up after themselves and site totally quiet by 10pm. Great to have gated access to paths at back of the site - a minute away from a well stocked garden centre! Tony's Tavern tastefully fits in well with the site and we enjoyed the option to eat and drink there. We found the site brilliantly located for exploring that part of Cornwall especially with Praa Sands minutes away. Overall we had a great stay and would book again for that part of Cornwall.

Great site

Had an amazing couple of days, good location for beaches like Praa Sands and for Lizard. Shower room amazing, all updated and individual styles and would be great for taking children in. All clean and tidy. Tony's Tavern was good for food and beers. Would return and recommend to others.

Has potential but not quite there

On arrival we were greeted by the chef of Tony's Tavern and told just to choose any pitch we wanted. The site was extremely quiet. Not all pitches had the grass cut around them. Only a few other pitches were taken, so extremely quiet but felt you were camping in someone's back garden. You're quite close to a main road so can hear traffic. The wooden play area is no longer there for children, in case you book with children. The shower block and toilet were modern and would have been lovely if they were cleaned. No one cleaned them for the duration of our stay. The grass had been cut but grass cuttings left so grass got everywhere, in campervan, showers and toilets. Food was nice at the onsite tavern. On the whole we wouldn't return, but wouldn't need much to take the site up a notch.

August family holiday

Lots of space - tents not crammed in. Limited hours for shop meant we did not use it. Problem with drains in the shower block for part of our stay, showers nearly always dirty, although it was a luxury having private toilet / shower in one 'unit'. Outdoor sinks exposed and always dirty with dust, people do not keep clean.

A real Cornish gem

We arrived and we were greeted by Kelly who explained the facilities and then showed us to our pitch. The pitch was level, and grass was short so no soggy walk to the showers. The facilities are the best I've encountered by a long way. The showers are amazing; the toilets are spotless, and the onsite shop has most of the things you'd need for a stay at a campsite. We found everyone that works here friendly and helpful. There are bus stops in Breage which is about 5 to 10 minutes' walk should you need to use public transport. We had a really lovely chat with Jackie on our last evening and realised we had so much in common. All in all I would recommend a stay here. Cornwall is lovely and so are the people.

May bank holiday

Let's start with the facilities. Best shower block we've encountered. Large very good condition pitches. Clean very well equipped laundry room which also housed fridge, freezer, microwave and small safes for valuables. A good children's play area and plenty of room to run around. Good waste disposal facilities. Would have scored 5 but for Wi-Fi couldn't be found. Didn't have time in a busy 2 day trip to find staff and enquire. Also, Tony's Carvery opening hours on a May bank holiday weekend only 10 to 2:30 which was disappointing. Although to be fair, the site was virtually deserted. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Were very flexible over our late arrival. On departure day, went above and beyond to get my daughter's abandoned purse back to her. Location, you can walk to Breage easily where there's a pub, but it wasn't serving food first weekend May. It is possible to walk to coast path but difficult, had to download OS map as poorly signposted route, trekked around fields, climbed over awkward stiles with barbed wire and forded a small brook. Farmer clearly discouraging access. Short drive to Porthleven and the Southwest Coast path at the beautiful Rinsey Cove.

It's a big site to look after and we still have some work being carried out before the busier period starts. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi does drop-out sometimes but we thank you for your comments and we will work on finding a solution. Tony's Tavern has seasonal opening hours, which are listed on the Tavern door and are normally told to campers upon arrival. We always try to be flexible as much as we can with arrivals, that is why we always ask people to call through if they are going to be later than agreed, so, thank you for letting us know your ETA. Our mazing staff are a credit to us as they are so helpful and courteous and will do anything to help. As we are quite a large site, we always try to spread campers out over the site, so they don't feel congested and too close to others, sometimes it may look that we are deserted, but we are not - we try to keep everyone happy and ensure everyone has a lovely break! Thankfully, upon investigation and thoroughly searching, we found your missing item. We are so pleased that you got it back and hope you will come back to stay with us once again. Luckily, the Cornish weather was quite nice when you stayed. Many thanks for your review x

Charming campsite

We stayed two nights at Elysian Fields with our motorhome on an electric grass pitch. Facilities are clean an very good. We had a front side pitch (1A), which is perfect for access to facilities, however A394 traffic can be heard especially in evening and morning hours. We had originally planned to do a hike to the Loe and/or Praa Sands from the site, but had to adapt our plans due to bad weather and instead visited Land's End (20 miles/35 minute drive).

Fantastic short break

Fantastic site, our first camping experience in the UK, for many years. Location was excellent for exploring all of Cornwall if you don't mind, the longest drive we did which was an hour.

First class site

Hard to imagine many sites out there being better than this one. From the very warm welcome, to the excellent facilities on site, this is a site for all. It's hard to be everything to everyone but we thought Elysian Fields might just get that right. The staff were universally welcoming and helpful, with an especially enthusiastic welcome at reception upon check-in. All facilities are of a very high standard with no queues for showers/toilets. The shower rooms are spacious and creatively decorated. Tony's Tavern is a great spot for breakfast and evening drinks. There was even a quiz night on our first night there - ideal for settling into the place. Located on a very good bus route between Penzance and Falmouth. Generous pitch size. Ample and accessible drinking water. Outstanding value for money.

Lovely site but very noisy

Lovely site but very noisy but could not recommend. The campsite itself is great. Great pitches, great location and great facilities. However, during the time we camped here, there was a large group that brought along a huge speaker and a small bouncy castle. They played their music really loud for the best part of the day and past 10pm, on one night, all the way through till 1:30. Complaints were made but nothing changed. It felt like the rules actually stood for nothing as there was no one enforcing them. 2 families by us left early because of them, which is a shame because the weather was perfect. Quite pricey for a stay at such a noisy campsite.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. I am the owner and every night I do try and enforce quiet times, (either myself or a member of our staff listen and go to the tents that are noisy). On several occasions in the past few weeks I have been to speak with noisy campers, sadly at times they blatantly ignore me. Sadly we cannot physically throw them off our site. However we do remember names and do not take bookings again from them.

Super good for the price

Very modern and clean. We were pleasantly surprised considering the price. Definitely would recommend. Two things missing are soap and kettle.

Best campsite I've used

The campsite is in an ideal place for Western/southern Cornwall, the facilities are excellent, there is complimentary use of a fridge and an electric charge point as well. The bathrooms and showers are also very clean and amazing - there are useful water points around the site - I cannot recommend highly enough and plan to return next year if possible!

Excellent size pitches and the toilet facilities are brilliant. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Tony's Tavern was a huge perk.

I camp all year round. Immaculate facilities. Everything you need set in a lovely location near beaches. Manager was always smiling and very helpful ☀️

What a gem!

Can't fault anything about this place. For a campsite, it's a gem. Lovely, welcoming owners and staff and a spacious pitch. Loved the décor of the showers and bar etc and it was so clean. If you want to explore Cornwall, this place is great as a base too. We visited Lands End, Penzance and Hayle in the 2 days we stayed and not far to drive. Will be returning.

Family friendly campsite

We have stayed here for the bank holiday weekend. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great and I was ill, but a great playground for the kids. One of the best Sunday roasts we had at Toby's Tavern (at the campsite). All facilities close by. Hot showers could have been bit hotter and more pressure but you can have a cubicle to yourself.

Lovely campsite

Great site with friendly staff. Clean and tidy toilet block with hot water most of the time. Good little shop/reception and a nice pub. Will be returning.
