Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJun 2023

This is a great campsite. Very quiet, people were awesome and friendly, very helpful. Free Wi-Fi in the library was great and I loved browsing the books. Look out for Century (huge book!) which has 100 years in pictures. Facilities were well kept and maintained, very nice. Fantastic looking pool and the ping pong tables were great, and undercover, so a great wet weather activity. (take your own paddles and ball or purchase cheap versions in the shop. Well stocked shop. Minor negatives, mostly due to the fact that we didn't stay in Peak season (although it was end of June!) - this was what lost the stars for the site for us. Be aware that there are noisy cows in the barn next door early every morning if you camp down the bottom of the non-electric field. If feel that more showers will be needed in peak period. We had 2 for the ladies. Swimming pool was not open when we were there. We struggled a little with access to the freezer to sort out ice blocks due to limited opening hours (but we were often out before 9am and home late after dinner) but you will be fine if you are in peak season or not out all day as we were. Overall a lovely campsite - wouldn't hesitate to visit again or recommend it. Loved it!
