Best campsite ever
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2024 I cannot begin to express how much we loved staying here. Paul, the owner, could not have been lovelier or more hospitable,
The facilities were like nothing I've ever seen before and were better than some hotels I've stayed in, and the pitches were clearly very well cared for and looked after.
It was a great location for all of the key places in the Lakes and the hotel/restaurant next door was also fantastic when we ate there one night.
Cannot recommend this place enough and we will definitely be back ASAP!

It was quite a task keeping on top of everything whilst we were full and I was working like a swan to do so (calm and serene above the surface and paddling like mad where you couldn't see!) - Paul.
Great stay
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2024 Campsite was very clean and tidy when we arrived. The campsite was quite empty which was great for us however, having two showers was not really enough for when the site got busy on the bank holiday weekend.
Although, they were having work done on another toilet/ shower block so hopefully in the future there will be more to accommodate the amount of guests.
The building work being done on the house did take away from the peace and quiet of the lovely location a little bit. But overall, a great stay, campsite staff very friendly and helpful.

Hi Terry, thank you for staying with us and recommending us on Campsites.co.uk.
About 48 hours after you left we were able to bring additional shower/loo facilities back on line, which helped (sadly not in time for you !) and within the next fortnight, we hope to have even more shower/loo facilities coming online.
Once completed, we'll have totally refurbished and modernised the original shower/loo block and then all the water onsite will be heated by solar power.
We'd love to have you return to look at the changes. Paul & Sarah.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2024 Just stayed for 2 nights at Little Acre Camping. Absolutely spotless, fab showers and modern toilet block. Nice and quiet location!

Thank you for staying with us Anthony and I'm glad that it worked so well for you. For 2024, we only take single tent bookings and the youngest age for campers is now 12 years old - and both things have helped make the campsite a lot quieter. Paul

Owner was very welcoming and friendly, would recommend. Hotel bar great and a short walk away, canal walk very close also.
Hard to believe just off M6 - 5*, thank you.

You'll have seen Sarah & I going around the site several times a day, making sure that everything is clean and functioning properly - before you arrived, I'd just mown the tent field and it's a constant job getting the grass cuttings out of the toilet & shower block.

A lovely little campsite
Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Mar 2024 What a lovely site Little Acre is. As told, the owners were lovely. The bathroom is modern and always clean.
Very well ran site. The electric was powerful enough, but not as much as some sites we have been on and us having 16amps, but 10 was enough. Water was close by so didn't have to walk forever as it was just behind the pitch.
There are facilities to wash up and even a washing machine. This site is the perfect place to come and have a relax, just sit and watch the world go by, or go for a walk down the canal. There are towns close by and a pub down the road - what more can you want?
Only downside is the field isn't flat, but you can't do much about that! Thank you very much for a lovely stay - we will be back.

Really lovely little site
Trailer Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Mar 2024 Really lovely little site. Brand new wash rooms are very luxurious. No fuss, no hassle, no noisy facilities, just peace and quiet in a fabulous part of the country.
Bring a ground sheet as the new grass is soft. I've rebooked already.

Hi Bob, thank you for reviewing us and for your rebooking. You're not joking about the grass being soft! Several months of soggy weather has made it so! In a usual season, we don't get campers in March, so it's something that's never affected anyone and now that we're into the (hopefully) better weather of April, the grass in the tent field will really start to flourish.

Excellent campsite
Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2023 This was one of the nicest campsites we have been to. Paul was very attentive, funny, friendly and always very helpful. The location is central to the Lake and Peak District, so absolutely perfect.
The new toilet block was completed during our stay which was absolutely WELL above the standards I'd expect for a campsite. The older toilet block was functional, but a little dated, so would benefit from similar work. There was plenty of space and a whole host of types of groups from solo tenters to family campers to older couples in campervans.
There's a lovely river walk at the site entrance and a shop in the petrol station about a 10 minute walk along the river to the right. Met some lovely people and our kids had a fantastic time. I think my only real semi negative would be that the tent field is at an angle but there is nothing that can really be done about that.

Since your stay, the older "green block" toilet and shower unit has been taken out of use, as it wasn't viable to update, so now we have 2 larger toilet and shower blocks for people to use.

P.S. We're well located for the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, both of which are 20 mins away. But less so for the Peak District, which is a couple of hours away.
Great stay
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2023 Brilliant stay as always, gorgeous campsite in a beautiful setting. Owners are incredibly friendly, nothing is too much to ask. Toilets, showers and other facilities are outstanding, always immaculately clean and amazing value for money. Will be returning very soon!
