May 2025

We arrived on Friday evening! We loved looking at the free roaming peacocks walk around the park. It was really busy and staff were very polite and very accommodating. The children enjoyed playing in the little outdoors area with badminton, basketball and ring toss. There was a very popular wood fire pizza van here Fri & Sat as it was a busy weekend. The next day we had issues with our electrics. The owner spent loads of time trying to help us and eventually we sorted out the problem with our trailer tent. The children loved playing on their wooden play area and games room. The little shop was great for picking up the odd items you may have forgotten or needed. The bathrooms were always clean and well stocked up. Everyone was polite and we had a fabulous stay and can't wait to come here again! Thank you ☺️

Excellent stay!

Medium Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4)May 2025

Great place with great facilities! Plentiful pot washing stations with lovely deep sinks, hot water, blue roll etc. Plentiful toilets which never ran out of loo roll. I only waited a few minutes for a shower room at peak time on a morning, and the shower room was great with a sink and mirror and hooks and a little bench to put stuff on. Decent play area for kids and some kids toys set up. A games room which we didn't use and communal fridge freezer etc. I would definitely go back!

Fantastic for young families

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1)May 2025

Stayed for 3 nights over the May bank holiday weekend. We were particularly impressed with the facilities. There were several toilet blocks, pot wash areas and showers, all of which were clean, regularly maintained by staff and offered hot running water. There was also a well stocked shop with all essentials, and a pizza van making lovely pizzas on the Friday and Saturday night, as well as playground and games room for the kids. The site was busy (expected on a nice bank holiday), with a lot of DofE groups (some tired looking teenagers plodding about in the evenings!) but all campers respected the expectations of quiet after 10pm, which was good for us with an early settling 4 year old. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had car trouble on the way, meaning we pitched up later than we intended, but they were very flexible and supportive of our issue. The location perfectly suited what we wanted, close to lovely towns and tourist attractions. The pubs in the nearby village were nice and we had a lovely meal at the Druid Inn one night. Our pitch was slightly sloped, but not uncomfortably so, but there are plenty of flatter spots, we were just too late to get one. Be ready to see peacocks wandering around the fields, and hearing them making loud conversation from time to time at night. Overall, the site was great, perfect for what we needed with a young child (couldn't get her off the playground!). We would definitely stay again if we were to come back to the area.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches (Campervan Only)Apr 2025

Clean, spacious. Hardstanding pitches need chocks. Great size pitches. Great separate adult showers. Check in closes at 5pm. Perfect for visiting Matlock, Bakewell. Small family touches of games and park are thoughtful. Just a narrow village to drive through so if towing, be aware. Will return!

Loved it

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesApr 2025

We spent three days here. We had an electric hook up for our touring caravan, water taps were right next door to us. Nice, big, spacious bays. Good showers, nothing to complain about, can only compliment this place! it is kept lovely, the grass was beautifully mowed with all the stripes!

Quiet & well kept

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1)Apr 2025

Everything about Barn Farm was outstanding, from checking in to departure time, the stay and facilities was 2nd to none. I was on camping field one which is a sloping field, but possible to find level pitches at the bottom end or a couple at the top. The peacocks as beautiful as they are wandering the site but they don't understand the concept of bedtime, lol. A 5 minute stroll from the site fetches you to 2 pubs, The Red Lion & The Druid Inn. Behind The Druid Inn is Rawton Rocks, open to the public but be aware that it can be very dangerous as there's no safety fences and sheers drops. My recommendation is if you have kids, don't go up there.

Motorbike friendly campsite

Brilliant site with fantastic views and walks. Staff are super friendly and it's just a short hop on the bus to Bakewell or Matlock. Will most likely be back at some point soon but might enquire about the lodge.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring PitchesApr 2025

Our trip to Barn Farm from Friday to Sunday was the first time we have been away in our recently converted Campervan. We had the best time and found the site to be super welcoming, really clean and with all the facilities we could think of requiring during our stay. Toilets and shower facilities were really clean and there was no mess or rubbish anywhere to be seen on the site. The alpacas near the bottom camping field and the peacock wandering around were also a real treat! The location of the site was perfect with great walking routes all around and two lovely pubs only a 5-10 minute walk away. Will definitely be coming back - thanks, Tom & Leah.

Lovely, relaxed, well kept campsite
