Lovely little getaway

Absolutely wonderful 2 night stay with my partner and 2 children, we spent the days out exploring and just chilled on site on the evenings but everything we needed was around us. Very clean, fresh towels , welcome tea coffee and biscuits in room. WiFi was handy to have too at no extra costing

Spoilt by the caravan next to us singing karaoke

Beautiful site in a beautiful location. When we were shown to our pitch by the guy who oversees the touring/camping pitches, he mentioned / joked about no noise after 10pm or we'd get a visit. It's a shame that the caravan next to us, who decided to get out their karaoke at 10pm, didn't get a visit from the site warden, even though we called through to the on call number and explained the problem. Clearly it goes to a call centre who follow a script and were more interested in if we were on site or not. When I explained the problem she said, "I'll see what I can do". Half and hour later at 11.10pm, my husband called the on call number again to be told "sorry, it's a poor signal can you call back" unsure which it was but one of them left a voicemail on for reception who called us back at just after 9am this morning. After listening to the music for an hour and half, I got out our campervan at 11:30pm, went to the caravan and asked them if they thought it was reasonable and would they please turn it off, as I had no other option and we felt that they weren't going to stop singing any time soon. I feel It wasn't my place to do this, it should have been the warden's place to manage the situation. The site wasn't cheap and the reviews were very good. Sadly, this incident spoilt our break. When I spoke to reception before we left, they asked if the people were still on site and they would send someone to speak to them today "so it didn't happen again". Our peaceful break was spoilt by this family and lack of support from the resident wardens. The site is in a beautiful location and very close to some beautiful beaches. The local pub does amazing food, it's just a shame it was spoilt for us by one inconsiderate family.

A lovely gem

Lovely site, very friendly staff, facilities were clean but also a very good standard! I needed help and the staff in the cafe were incredibly helpful and super friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my camping stay with the two little ones and would recommend to others.

Excellent time at this holiday park, very relaxing

We had an excellent time at this holiday park, it was very relaxing and we had a great view from our tent overlooking the lake. Stayed for two nights, but wish we had a little longer, will definitely visit again. Some nice little walks and we visited Hull too. The only down side to the weekend was the wind, but you can't predict the weather when you book in advance.

Lovely site

Really nice, spacious campsite. Wardens were excellent, everyone super friendly. Decent bar and shop. Shower block super clean and warm. Slightly expensive at £102 for 2 nights.

Just a random booking for us! Beautiful setting with the lake, fab facilities that were clean and well kept. Shop on site with home cooked food, as well as most things you would need. Live music in bar. Booked for two nights, but will rebook for longer.

Lovely place to stay

Really lovely, quiet place to stay. Plenty of facilities, shop was very handy. Toilets and showers were immaculate, cleaned all the time. Even went in at 10pm and someone was cleaning! Just not a fan of the bird mess all over the grass everywhere you went, but that can't be helped! We went with our tentbox and wasn't allowed to put a tent up for living space, even though there was plenty of space and offered to pay as was classed as paying for an extra pitch, wouldn't have needed though, as there was so much space behind our van. Plenty of walks for the dogs and a closed off dog field was great.

Very nice campsite. The facilities were all nice, clean and tidy. The staff all welcoming and polite. Good size pitches

Weekend getaway

We were put next to the glamping pods which were filled with multiple teenagers that played rugby and cricket in front of our caravan, with the younger kids playing football right next to our caravan. The large group of adults and teens were up and outside till after 1am, with kids running around the park, so we were unable to get to sleep until after this time. The next morning, I opened the caravan door to find some of the teens playing ball games right outside the caravan door and just staring at us. We phoned to ask to move pitch and were given serval choices, so my husband picked one and phoned them back but they then charged him £7 for the privilege. We think it's because he chose a hardstanding pitch. But they never said why. The wardens then went to have words with the large group as we were packing up to move, which made it very awkward and we got a lot of glares every time we passed. This was a getaway for our wedding anniversary and did spoil it a little. Surely the wardens should have told the groups to go play in the park area and away from the other campers? We are already booked to be going back for the August bank holiday but are a little apprehensive now, but we booked this before this last stay.

A Lovely peaceful place to stay. Very clean. Staff are all friendly and welcoming. Excellent value for money.

Easter weekend stay

Beautiful location for a holiday park not fully utilised. Could use the lake for other activities other than fishing, it is large enough. Facilities were spotless staff very professional and friendly. Good dog walking field. Big site, which is not really my thing. One road around the site so always traffic coming and going. Need to keep a close eye on small children. Would definitely go again but only for a long weekend, not enough to do.

Lovely site

First time here and we will be booking again. The site was clean, quiet and had excellent facilities. We happened to be there when they had their fireworks night which we booked in for, the display was really good.

First time camping for 40 years

First time camping for 40 years, couldn't have picked a better site. All staff very helpful, shower/toilets immaculate, shop and pub offering everything we wanted. Even got a half price voucher issued for the hall.

Our maiden voyage

After buying our very first, cheap starter caravan, we decided to head to a location not too far from home (about an hour away). The site was beautifully kept and immaculately clean. Little bar on site and shop, nice and quiet in beautiful grounds of Burton Constable main hall. Highly recommended. The only tiny niggle was the showers having to keep pressing the damn button which is really annoying, doesn't even stay on long enough for you to get a good dowsing before trying to wash your hair. Girls with long hair will understand this.

Beautiful setting and great dog park

This has certainly changed since we used to come here with our kids. A beautiful place with a fantastic free dog park. We couldn't take advantage of visiting the house as I had the dog with me and for that reason, never used the shower block either so can't comment on them. However, there were plenty of water, Elsan and disposal points, and there was also a launderette if you needed one. Our pitch was well marked with a number on a paving slab which also served for a base for the jockey wheel. All electrical points were also well lit at night. Acres and acres to walk through and plenty of wildlife as well (ducks visited each new arrival) so be aware if your dog is reactive. My only minor niggle was that our driving water tap nearest to us wasn't much more than a trickle. I did mean to raise this with a member of the team who came regularly round but I always seemed to miss them and just used another nearby so wasn't a massive issue. I'd definitely go here again and have already recommended to others. Also, pricing is 'from' so each dog is extra (we have 3) and had an extra car which was an additional cost. It did add quite a chunk on top but I was still happy to pay. I am new to this and have only had a couple of outings so don't have a lot to compare to. I ended up being solo most of the time as friend was ill. Everyone was friendly so I was never worried.

Would definitely recommend and will go back again

Excellent site, very clean. Fantastic staff, toilet and shower block were absolutely 5 star. Lovely location and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our only constructive feedback would be that even though the warden was brilliant, the pitches aren't clearly marked, other than a flagstone on the ground for the middle of the pitch and we were unsure of the boundary. We weren't sure we had pitched our tent in the middle of our pitch, could do with some above ground signs and maybe a post marking the edge of the pitch? Also there's no lighting walking to and from the facilities to the camping field, maybe some post lights would help? Shop was brilliant and the best scotch eggs we've ever had, but would have been handy to know it wasn't licensed.

Absolutely loved it, clean, quiet and staff were so helpful

Our first time camping. Thought we would go somewhere local, in case the kids wanted to go home, but we absolutely loved it. It was so clean, the staff were lovely and so helpful. The location was lovely and quiet, the kids had plenty of space to run around.

Amazing family site for young children

Stayed at the site with my wife and 5 children. We had a electric hook-up next to the children's playground. From the minute we arrived on site, we were greeted by friendly staff with information of the site and the local facilities. Our pitch was perfect, a nice size and a perfect location. The playground was great for the children, swings, slides, sand pit and other climbing obstacles. The shower and washing facilities were kept immaculate and staff were always on top of cleaning them. The site had a pub which was great for a refreshing pint. A great fishing lake and a short walk over to Burton Constable Hall. Really enjoyed the stay and would recommend to anyone to book. Wi-Fi wasn't as strong near the tent pitches but was able to connect at the washing facilities and on majority of the site. It has a private dog run which is fenced off and massive for plenty of dogs to roam around without causing issues. A local shop and laundrette services on site that stocked all the things you need from day to day.

Fantastic!

I have never been a fan of camping but after staying here, I now love it. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the campsite including toilets and showers were clean and well maintained. Highly recommend.

One of the best sites we have stayed on, a super site.

Fabulous

Beautiful, stunning place. Facilities spotless, clubhouse fab and the prices are fab too. Spacious pod, weather poor but would definitely recommend and we will definitely be going back.
