Nice stop over point Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Campervan Hardstanding/Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Oct 2025 The site was fine, friendly staff and owner was nice.
I did struggle to get hold of the office to begin with, as we booked as a last minute stop over, but I think the office is closed during lunch periods.
The shower rooms are basic and clean, but smelled a bit mouldy and the toilet area was fine and clean enough. I had to hold the shower tap on for ages to wait for it to warm up but it did get hotter and stayed a nice temperature.
There was a few spiders in the outside sheltered washing up area, but the sinks were clean.
I think after they do some more work it will be a nice site to come back to in the future, as we loved the area and the beach looks very nice, which was around 7 minutes drive away.
Mature couple - 3 night stay Recommends site
Motorhome - Standard Plus Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Oct 2025 We were going to be late due to traffic. I rang the site & receptionist waited for us to arrive to show us our pitch. Facilities were spotless, good stock of goods in the site shop. Staff very helpful. Pitches were a great size, plenty of grass per hard standing pitch.
Gated entrance, but wasn't used while we were there, probably due to end of season stragglers - like us 😉.
Local bus to Bamburgh Castle. We walked the beautiful coastline to the castle but got the bus back, only 2 stops, 2.5 miles. Pizza cabin at the rear of the site, very popular.
We would definitely recommend this family friendly site.
The maintenance men were working on the site in preparation for the winter and next season, but it didn't bother us, nice to see their forward planning.
Quiet and well kept Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Large Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Oct 2025 Nice level campsite and good facilities. Local to Holy island, Berwick upon Twee, Bamburgh castle, and Seahouse.
Disappointing Sprinter-Type Campervan - Standard Plus Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Sep 2025 The site is advertised as 5 minute walk to Budle Bay and 15 minutes to Bamburgh. You need to drive into Bamburgh or walk, which is 45 mins walk away.
Once you arrive at the site, you will see there are lots of unfinished building work being done and the work which is completed is in disrepair. Old, dirty caravans at the entrance, wood everywhere. Very run down.
Showers were ok but no mirrors or shelves for toiletries and the lights switch off after a few minutes. Toilets and washing up facilities adequate. If we had not paid in advance, we would not have stayed. No outlook, just depressing.
Internet and Wi-Fi poor. Will not return.
Excellent value Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Campervan Hardstanding/Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Sep 2025 Just stayed one night. Very clean and well laid out.
Budle Bay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Medium Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Sep 2025 Absolutely stunning park. I had two nights camping in a lovely spot next to river, big enough plot for my 4 man tent.
Showers and toilets immaculate - lovely warm showers. Plenty of sinks to wash up, fridge to store cold food, little shop which I didn't use, but looked well stocked.
Staff were lovely, will book again.
Great place - would definitely recommend Recommends site
Glamping Cabin - River View (Two Bunk Beds) Sep 2025 Warm and friendly staff approach, always happy to help.
Facilities well organised and kept clean. Our hut was just perfect for a weekend family get away.
Walking paths and lots of nature around.
Great site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Medium Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Sep 2025 Very nice, clean site, friendly staff. All you could want on site.
Location is excellent so close to the coast and a short drive to Banburgh and Seahouses.
Nice site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Large Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Sep 2025 Good location. Peace and quiet. Clean.
All good Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Campervan Hardstanding/Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Sep 2025 All good, will go again. Showers bit outdated but doesn't bother me.
Nice & peaceful. Washing facilities for doing the dishes and it is hot water.
Review Recommends site
Glamping Cabin - Hill View Huts (Seven Person) Sep 2025 Really welcoming and loved the stay 😊
Lovely setting and all amenities you’d need Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Medium Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Really lovely place, lots of different kind of pitches and the staff were all great. Quiet and friendly.
Mens showers could do with a refresh but it's a minor thing. Great place to remember for the future.
Nice site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - XL Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Staff are lovely and very helpful. Good facilities on site.
The description says 5 mins walk from Budle Bay, which is technically true, but to get to the beach bit of Budle Bay it's more like 30-40min walk alongside a main road at times.
Didn't seem to be a kitchen for campers to use, only for the huts, but may just have missed it. Showers are good as long as you're the only one using them!
Play ground for the kids is great, onsite coffee and nearby pizza are both excellent.
Nice site, could do with a little bit of an upgrade Large Tent - XL Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Nice site if you are after peace and quiet. Amenities are basic but could do with a little TLC.
Staff were friendly and helpful when we first arrived. Tried originally to book a pitch by the river but had run out, so accepted a pitch off river side, glade we did as we got the early evening sun which went down well and pitch was a decent size.
Handy for Bamburgh, Seahouses and Berwick.
Disappointed Single Axle Caravan - Medium Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Pitch was disappointed with how tight everyone was crammed in.
Broken and exposed manhole cover which was dangerous for our small dog and possible children and car wheels. Pot washing area water temperature not hot enough. Shower floors continually wet making it impossible to get dressed with getting clothes wet.
Charging room still had wet floors. Toilets not cleaned enough times in the day, which is inadequate for the number of people using the facilities. Recycling facilities were good. Location was good for visiting the local area.
Great site for exploring the coast Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Campervan Hardstanding/Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 A great site in a wonderful location to be able to explore.
Our visit Single Axle Caravan - Medium Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Be aware of the points mentioned to ensure the site suits your requirements
The pitches were far too close together, the awning of caravan next door had its guide lines secured at the base of our caravan. If you like manoeuvring your van into place, if the site busy, you will struggle as no room, will need to use movers (if you have them) - also if busy, difficult to leave pitch as can't connect to vehicle straight on, will need to park car on ring road and bring van to car. Also, on the route around site to leave, there is a particular point where it is extremely tight and only navigable with skill/luck. People with long vehicles towing long vans could struggle.
We were advised about Elsan point for toilet but not where to dispose of "grey" water had to work out for ourselves, and isn't that easy to use (you'll get feet wet). The shower heads far too low, had to bend down to clean hair (I am 6') and didn't stay on long enough.
No TV reception or Phone DATA reception on O2 or EE. Location ideal for coast road, but not a lot of local shops or eating places if that is what you look for.
Great site Recommends site
Medium Tent - Medium Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Great site. Quiet after 10:30. Dark skies. Great coffee spot with Apothecafe and pizza from Napco nearby. Small park for kids. Facilities clean. Really helpful and friendly staff.
Only (very) small snag was some other campers had dogs which weren't on leads, and we found a mess on the pitch next to ours.
Great site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Campervan Hardstanding/Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Busier than we were expecting but still a lovely chilled site and everything went quiet and peaceful at 10.30, despite the bank holiday. Great level hardstanding pitches. Staff quick to resolve problems.
Average Small Tent - Standard Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 We had pitch 62, not good as there was a drinking water tap on our pitch making at least 4 square feet soggy and unusable.
Tap was left running, people rinsing cooking utensils and people collecting water up to 11pm, so was a noisy pitch.. Campervans on next pitch so noisy as well with doors being opened etc.
On the last night, an SUV parked behind us on the access road as their tent filled the pitch. This vehicle was 1 and a half times larger than our tent and we felt rather intimidated. This is our personal experience of our pitch. Otherwise, no problems with the site.
Great site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Campervan Hardstanding/Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Really enjoyable 3 night stay. The staff are super friendly and given the amount of pitches on site, it was super quiet overnight.
Would be happy to stay again in the future.
Lovely and clean Recommends site
Large Tent - Super XXL Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Facilities were lovely and clean, staff on site were friendly, nice clean site.
Could have done with having WiFi for the kids as signal was patchy which was a bit of a pain but we had a great stay.
Nice place, little boy loved it! Recommends site
Medium Tent - Medium Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Enjoyed 2 nights here with my 3 year old boy. He absolutely loved it, the little park was great for him to play with the other kids.
Staff were all really friendly, and the little coffee van was great. We missed the pizzas, but it's only 5 mins drive to Bamburgh where there were some good pubs, Seahouses is not much further.
Site was super quiet at night too - which was nice. Will definitely go back some day 👍
Lovely little site Recommends site
Large Tent - XL Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 A picturesque, small campsite - ideal for families with younger children.
A small river with steep bank sides runs through the site. Facilities were spotless and staff helpful. During our stay everyone kept to the quiet times and it was a very peaceful stay. We visited Chillingham Castle, Bamburgh and Seahouses, all a short drive away.
The onsite pizzas were good, but you need to order early as it gets busy.
Nice friendly campsite Recommends site
Large Tent - Super XXL Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2025 Friendly campsite with everything you need for a short stay. Facilities are basic but reflective in price.
