Harbour Lights is located just outside the village of Haverigg on the south-western tip of the Lake District National Park. There are non electric grass pitches as well as electric gravel and hardstanding pitches, perfect for campers and tourers alike. Or opt for a camping or glamping pod for something a little easier. An idyllic spot for relaxing, a two minute walk from Haverigg Beach.

Lovely staff, easily upgraded to powered site at check in. Quiet and safe area, can walk to a number of pubs. Bathrooms were quite a highlight with the heated towel rails! Everything clean, stocked and in working order. Would definitely recommend.

I'm being harsh here but the site is okay, it's in a good location but for some reason, the postcode we originally used was for a local supermarket. We eventually found the site and set up. The only problem was that the roads on site are made from a dark grey type of powdered stone which, when wet, got transferred into our motorhome and the site's shower block making them look dirty which they were not. I know it would be very expensive but tarmac roads and pitches would easily move it up to nearly a 5 star rating.

Thank you for your review and points raised. Regarding the postcode, we were allocated this by Royal Mail and it has been updated via google maps and is correct on the royal mail site and also google maps, but there has been an issue with Apple Maps which has caused problems. We are looking at tarmacking for the road through the site and hope this will be done in the not too distant future. We are constantly trying to improve the site and obviously this is ongoing. We appreciate constructive criticism so thank you for your time and we hope you will come back

The site was quite remote with very little in the way of local amenities. The only local take away is the chippy, which is a short walk away. Apart from the seafront, any sightseeing is a bit of a drive away. The site is full of potholes and some pitches flooded overnight, had to navigate them going to the loo overnight. Felt they needed to fill the holes and improve drainage.

The site is run very well. Unfortunately we were there in a very wet weather spell. This resulted in large puddles. Of course you can't predict the rain but the potholes on site could be attended to. The facilities looked good. The staff were very helpful and friendly, it just didn't meet our expectations. The access road, which isn't the responsibility of the site, was so full of deep potholes. It's all about first impressions. We just didn't enjoy our stay.

As a couple with more than 2 dogs, this was a great site. Lovely walks, nice clean facilities and a good size pitch. Lovely beach and a nice walk around the nature reserve with a bar that was happy to allow dogs.

Solid campsite. Maybe having a more sociable area for darts and pool etc would be a nice improvement to Harbour Lights. We had to drive an hour in order to play pool and go to a sports bar.

I am new to campsites so don't really know what to expect. Having just done the Nc500, I stayed at several sites in Scotland and they have all been great. Harbour Lights is a lovely site with great facilities and lovely and clean. Location right next to the beach and great for dog walking. Only stayed one night on way home.

Location amazing to be so close to beach and harbour. So sad it poured the whole time but a peaceful campsite. Lots of room and very dog friendly 🦮 Will come back for sure.

Followed sat nav, which takes you to middle of Haverigg, then blindly went down a pothole ridden road. Due to signs for another site, the Harbour Lights sign was hidden around a corner in a hedgerow. The site itself is kept clean and tidy and staff very friendly and helpful. New shower block was very nice. Ski Bar and water sports centre 5 min walk and well worth a visit. Only three minor criticisms. Only one waste water and toilet emptying facility, so in busy times expect to queue. The pot wash area was not covered so if it rains, expect to get wet, and roads around the site are full of small potholes. Having said that, if you were to ask me if I would go here again, without hesitation, I would say yes.

Absolutely gorgeous place! Located very close to the beach. The park itself was very clean and well maintained. The staff were amazing and friendly and couldn't do enough to keep everyone happy. Will definitely be returning!

Nice location near the beach. Based off the other good reviews we were disappointed. The two times I tried the showers, once was cold (there were signs to point this out) and once there was no water whatsoever. The toilets were consistently littered and dirty (floors especially). I understand this is down to how other guests leave them, which is difficult to manage, but it was a theme throughout. Not much help at check in. Noisy at night - I tried the out of hours number but no answer. No sign of the night security that was mentioned. Lots of noisy guests swearing and drinking until late. The site was very busy due to the hot weather which could be a mitigating factor, but I don't think they should accept that many bookings if they are not staffed to provide cleaning and security as advertised. Maybe fine if you are friends looking to stay up socialising, but no good with small children or if you are looking for peace and tranquillity.

Tidy site. Poor water pressure at the wash basin. Radiators on when the temperature outside was 26 degrees. Felt more sweaty after shower than before. Windows would not open. Pleasant pub nearby. Water activities good. Beach walk poor.

This is a lovely campsite! The ladies in reception were so lovely & friendly. Coming round on an evening before leaving (I'm assuming - before security came on) to make sure we had everything before she locked up, enough logs etc. It was lovely! Great shower rooms, just a shame the floors were filthy from the mud. It made showering a little harder with small children keeping them and their clean clothes off the floor. Maybe some kind of squeegee mop wouldn't go a miss in the shower rooms so people could clean the floors after themselves. Close to a great quiet beach too and beautiful views. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Arrived on the Saturday and we were out on a pitch in the centre of the holiday park. We felt like we were in a fish bowl, people cutting around the van to get to the toilet block, one woman stood directly in front of our van the next morning and let her dog do her business. The rain started immediately and on the first night campers in tents decided to start drinking and let their kids run feral around the campsite until nearly midnight. The caravan was battered by wind and rain and on the second day, we asked to be moved to a more sheltered pitch, which they did. The rain carried on and eventually around all the pitches, huge puddles of water began to fill up. We had to keep adjusting the van legs as the van was sinking, even on gravel. We gave up on the third day and decided to leave as it was - a washout. Before leaving the groundsman, decided to cut the hedge at the back of the vans and the noise was awful, someone pitched their tent next to our van and their three kids shouted and screamed most the night. Why do campsites let tents pitch up next to caravans? I know I have moaned a lot about this place but we paid £170 for this and I know they can't control the weather, but caravans need some sort of buffer from high winds and rain. There's no order on this campsite and we saw a couple of tents pack up and leave early.

The facilities were awful to say the least. Toilets were backing up, as were the showers! Everything needed a really good clean too. They were well aware of their issues with the toilets and it seems to have been an issue for sometime. In the end, they closed off a lot of the toilets, which then led to queues to use the open ones. The grounds flooded quickly with the amount of rain we had whilst there, which meant you couldn't walk from your pitch to the loos without getting your feet wet. I had to have words with one of the owners because they decided to strim behind our caravan which caused rocks to hit our awning! It's a site we won't be returning to.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, due to the rain and the pump malfunctioning, we did have an issue, which we worked on to resolve. Obviously when it rains the ground does get wet, meaning your feet do too. I am also sorry that one of our groundsmen caused a rock to hit the awning whilst strimming, I will have a word with them regarding this.
