Little Acre Holiday Park is just a 15-minute drive from the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. This dog friendly touring park is adjacent to the tranquil Lancaster Canal, ideal for dog walking and relaxing. Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale are close by and accessible by a bus stop 100m away. Good food and drink from the pub at the Crooklands Hotel is less than 100m and always popular (booking recommended).

Really lovely little site, very handy for canal walk and the surrounding area. Great to be able to stroll to the pub, Crooklands, just over the road. The A65 and M6 are close and occasionally you may hear a bit of traffic but nothing that disturbs. Pitches are a mix of flat and slightly sloped. Facilities are good. It's quite tight to get in the entrance with a long van, do-able with care. The warden, Paul was lovely, couldn't be nicer in fact!

I stayed here with my daughter and dog in my campervan. We fancied a night away in the van at short notice. Booking was easy and information provided through my booking confirmation led me straight to my pitch with no problems whatsoever. What a pretty little site it is and very clean. The manager made a point of coming over to say hello and make sure everything was ok for us. We had a lovely walk along the canal and found a little stream just off the canal with a rope swing. The site is an ideal location for anyone doing a big drive north to south or visa versa. We'll definitely be returning and I would definitely recommend!
Site's response
Thank you for the review and recommendation Carla. I'm glad that you all enjoyed your stay and wandering around the area - the little stream with the rope swing is more like a raging torrent at the moment ! Here's to your next stay. Paul

Paul and Sarah are amazing, very helpful answered all my questions patiently π The campsite is very clean, and my family enjoys the time there. It was our first time camping, and the experience made us want to do more camping. I strongly recommend the Little Acre Holiday Parkπ

Good position off Motorway. Access to canal makes lovely walk. Clean facilities. Site well kept. Whilst we were there, a chef was brought in and made pizzas, great idea. Hotel over the bridge if you don't want to cook. TV signal poor, so Google Chromecast or Amazon fire stick to watch TV is required. Would stay again.
Site's response
Thank you for the lovely review Karen. Since your stay at Little Acre, we now give free Wifi for all visitors & devices, which help people use Google Chromecast / Amazon Firesticks. See you next time. Paul & Sarah

Good site. Some pitches are better than others and would have been nice to see where your pitch was when booking. Toilet and shower facilities just ok and definitely need more toilets and showers, often had to wait. Better for families than couples on half of the site.
Site's response
Thank you for your review and recommendation Andrew. I agree with you that additional toilets and showers would be a good thing and we have plans submitted to add a new and much larger shower, loo and laundry block to Little Acre. Once added, this block should improve things considerably. Currently, at the busiest part of the season, at the busiest times of the day, sometimes people have a short wait to use some of the 3 shower and toilet blocks. I've looked into the possibility of people choosing their pitch at the point of booking, but unfortunately, the "behind the scenes work" makes this impossible. However, on the Campsites.co.uk booking form there is a space where people can add any requests/requirements and some folk do ask for their "favourite" pitches, if they are available. Paul

This was our very first night in a Motorhome and still very much learning the ropes. The site owners and neighbouring pitch were all very friendly and helpful and their assistance set us up for the week. A great little site which excellent facilities in a lovely location. Would definitely go back.

Second visit here. A small family run site. Toilet block is clean and toiletries provided. A small charge of 20p for the shower. Beside the canal, great for dog walking. The Crooklands Hotel is a 2 minute walk away, lovely for food or just a drink. Love this site.

Definitely be coming back again as I'm coming over this weekend! Forgot to write a review first time round so I'll pop one on now, cracking little spot this! Minutes away from Milnthorpe and Kendal, there's even the showgrounds right around the corner and when I stated they had a big food and music event on, didn't go but looked great! Not far from the little zoo place either gave that a visit which was alright, and there's even the deer sanctuary close by too! Cracking spot right at side of canal perfect for fishing, the site members are great, the staff fantastic and extremely welcoming and friendly staff. The showers and bathrooms are spot on and very clean, two 20ps is plenty for a shower! If you got caught mid suds and didn't have a 20p there's a sink right there as well so you'd be able to rinse off in case π π€£ When I stayed there was a pop up pizza place and they even bring the order out to your pitch. Cracking little spot was glad to stumble across it!

As our first time visiting the Lake District, Little Acre holiday park left a lasting impression and we will definitely be visiting again. The campsite is beautifully located in a rural area next to Lancashire canal and a few minutes walk from Westmorland county show ground, which is perfect for those warm summer evenings. The facilities are clean and the staff are so polite and cater for all your needs. Only fault I could find is the roughly half an hour drive to Windermere and so on for those destinations going passed Windermere, also very easy to find just off the M6. Would recommend this to anyone.
Site's response
Thank you for the lovely review and recommendation Jack - the "upside" of being 20 mins from Windermere is that its much, much quieter, with a lot less people. Paul

Lovely little campsite with really helpful owners. Ideally placed for exploring the Arnside/Silverdale area or venturing into the lakes. Facilities were spotless.
Site's response
Thank you for the 5* review Janet. This season, we seem to have more people than ever visiting Arnside & Silverdale - it helps that they're less than 15 mins away and never seem to get to busy. Paul
