Higher Shorston Lakes and Lodges offers a small exclusive campsite with yurt glamping set in spacious and beautiful Devon countryside. Anglers are spoilt for choice in this fishing-friendly site. It's the perfect base for exploring along the coast and around the north of Devon.

About the site

This spot is ideal for people looking for a peaceful setting but not too far from civilisation. The site is within walking distance of Holsworthy which offers full amenities and is also on the trail of the South West Coast Path in the Bude area. Only three pitches are available for members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club (you must be a member and able to give your membership number on booking), giving a lovely community feel. All pitches have pretty views across the valley. They all have electric hook-ups. There are also holiday lodges available, sleeping between 4 and 6 in multiple bedrooms, some with ensuite bathrooms. Inside all lodges, you will find an electric wood burner, electricity, microwave and decking area with furniture. These eco-friendly, detached, contemporary lodges with grass roofs are set up and comfortable.

Site rules and policies

Arrival after 1pm

Departure by 11am.

Site must be left clean on departure with all rubbish/recycling put in correct bins.

All dog fouling must be removed.

Chemical disposal and grey waste must be left clean.

Things to do on site and in the Holsworthy area

There is great coarse fishing on site, with two lakes for fishing and one wildlife lake.

In the neighbouring town there is a weekly market and heaps of venues for a great Devon cream tea.

You can also take lots of lovely walks around the site and a small river frontage. The South-West Coastal Path runs nearby, and is immensely popular. Or join the Tarka Trail and take advantage of local bike hire.

You're staying close to lots of beaches including Bude, Widemouth, Sandymouth. These are all clean, well-looked after beaches and are perfect for day trips and long rambles. There are spots that are great for windsurfing, paddleboarding and sailing.

Exeter itself is only 50 minutes away, so make a day of it and take in the grand Exeter Cathedral or the lively Exmoor Zoo.
