The staff were very helpful and friendly, the site was very clean and tidy, the new toilets were very good and clean. Very good site, shame the bar was closed.

All great, new shower block! Gentlemen took on board suggestions as I have mobility issues and can't bend, grab rails etc. Be back next year to see, lol. Very helpful gentleman! Easy for ferry, lovely and quiet (early July).

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Outer Field)Jun 2024

We have been very unlucky with the weather, otherwise we would have enjoyed this place more. it's a lovely site, with good facilities. We loved the ice cream even though the weather wasn't really nice for it. We will surely come back as we loved the location, near the seaside and close to Deal.

Site's response

Hello Christina, thank you for your review. Unfortunately, we can't supply the sunshine but are working hard with the improvements. Hope to see you again. Regards, Stephen.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Outer Field)Jun 2024

This is a lovely location which we will be coming back to for sure. Spacious pitches in a great scenic area. Loads of nice walks around. The on site bar with Friday night band was great, and the ice cream parlour was a hit. I would have scored this a lot higher, but the toilet and shower facilities are very poor. 2 showers for a park of this size was not enough, and they were mouldy, worn and tired. Pleased to see they are building new ones but for the price paid, I would have expected a better interim solution as, for me, what is in place is not fit for purpose.

Site's response

Hello Chris, thank you for your review. As you observed we are installing a new shower block which should be available from the 1st July. Thank you for bringing the other issues to my attention. Look forward to meeting you again. Regards, Stephen.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Outer Field)Jun 2024

I Stayed here for 1 night with my dad and my daughter, and it was great. Beautiful surroundings too. We were pitched in 16 but it was too windy so the gentleman moved us to a less windy pitch, which was very kind. Clean facilities and great pub and ice-cream parlour. We cannot wait to visit again

Site's response

Thank you for your kind review Katy. I'm glad everything worked out for you. Look forward to seeing you in the summer. Regards Stephen

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Outer Field)May 2024

We had a really lovely time at Solley’s. The owners are very friendly and relaxed and helpful. The ice cream parlour and owner’s small aircrafts made the campsite very unique and fun for the children. The facilities are basic but seem to be in the process of being upgraded. Perfectly sufficient for our needs though. Thank you for having us!

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field)May 2024

We chose somewhere close to home so we could introduce our dogs to our new camper van. It was great! The staff were extremely friendly and the surroundings are beautiful. There are different length walks from the farm, up to 4.3 miles although we worked out our own, walking into Walmer and Deal, finishing a hot day with an ice cream, what else?! They do sell dog ice creams but they had sold out so our dogs had to do without whilst we enjoyed possibly the least complicated offering! There is also a pub and you can watch light aircraft take off and land on the grass run way. There are showers and loos but they are currently a bit basic, but they are clean and new ones are being built as I write. Would highly recommend and we will probably be back!

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Outer Field)May 2024

Everything was superb. Clean, quiet, small homely pitch. Onsite modern pub, ice cream, café, plenty of picnic tables, tractor wagon tour around the farm/village, horse/pony ride, fresh air and green views. Same price for electric or non electric hook-up, only issue is 43min trek from Deal train station. 10min drive to coast/shops, lovely friendly camping manager (friendly taxi - £10 to beach, £5 to station). Kids, dogs, caravan and BBQ... feels like one extended family get together. Loved it.

Great site for couples families or youngsters

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field)May 2024

Solley's is a really nice site in the Kent countryside. My partner and I stayed for 2 nights in May 2024 and were very impressed with the location, site layout and availability, as well as the really friendly staff. Arrived on Friday evening and there was live music on in the bar (every 2nd Friday) which was a great bonus. Really nice atmosphere in the evening sun and the music stopped around 21.30 so not to disturb campers. Ice Cream parlour served quite simple breakfasts but they were good value for money. Only negative comment is that there weren't enough showers, but there is a new block under construction so once they're ready Solley's would get a 5/5.

Great location, clean and well spaced out. Worth going just for the ice cream. Only negative is the lack of hot water. They are currently working on the shower blocks, so hopefully this will be soon sorted. We would visit again.

Site's response

Thank you for your review, Krishna. Unfortunately I was not made aware of the water so that I could have dealt with the problem. Hope to see you again, Stephen.

There was nothing that they would not do to help you, this includes Mr Solley, the bar staff, the ice cream parlour staff and all the grounds staff. This is a very nice campsite in a nice part of Kent, good for Folkstone and Dover. I had a great time and will be back (could do with out as much wind and rain but if Mr Solley could sort that, I am sure he would)

Site's response

Hello John, thank you for your very kind review. I will convey your compliments to rest of the team. This year has been difficult with the weather, but hopefully we are through the worst and things will start to dry. Hope to see you again in the future. Regards, Stephen.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field)Mar 2024

Not only did we turn up late but the owner helped us set up. They let us leave later than most too because we are new to caravanning and it took us ages to pack up. The site is small, quiet and lovely. Really nice cafe and fab little on site pub. My only issue is that I didn't book a stay for longer! Highly recommend to everyone.

Site's response

Hello Libby, Thank you for your kind comments. We hope to see you again some day. Regard, Stephen

Great campsite. Steve was wonderful, helping us out with an extension cable because the one we bought was not long enough. Very friendly staff pub on site was amazing and the cafe was great for breakfast in the morning. Ice cream was great amd would recommend to friends who want to go camping in Kent. Friendly staff.

Site's response

Hello Philip, thank you for your kind review. Hope to see you again when the weather improves. Regards, Stephen.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field)Mar 2024

Very nice, well kept site - facilities were OK - nice pub on site with a quiz night for entertainment. My only negative comments would be the average narrow 10 minute country roads leading to this location are wide enough for one car only so that was a little stressful managing oncoming traffic. The pitch we were unfortunately given was on a hill that I had to park my caravan on sideways. Had to jack up one side of the caravan and pack under the wheel with timber to make the caravan level.

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field)Mar 2024

Stayed 8th & 9th March. Was very happy to get a phone call to say we would be put on hardstanding due to grass pitches being very wet. However, the hardstanding turned out to be electric hook ups in the car park. This would have not been too bad but, with an event happening in the pub, the 3 campervans were closed in by cars parking around us. This woke us up when they, and everyone else, left the event. In hindsight, there could have been a warning to us and the others staying over, telling us that we would be sited in the carpark with no real distance between us and that there is an event on. We could then have made an informed decision. On this note, we felt the price was too steep for what was offered and the disruption encountered late into the evening, due to being in the pub carpark. On a plus side, in the season, this is a great site. You could ask for a pitch well away from the pub, as noise can be heard, as there are plenty of pitches to choose from. It is also well located amongst the countryside, so our experience is not a reflection on the site. Also, an indication of how to get the WIFI code would have been welcome. One particular staff member was extremely helpful. Even when we had an issue on the morning of leaving, he came to our aide...in the rain.

Site's response

Hello Sally, We are normally closed until Easter but due to demand we have stayed open. The car park was put in to allow us to have some emergency hard standing for the campers and cars. This will resort to parking for our little pub once the sight is dry. We as a family business endeavour to please every one who comes on site but, due to the continuous rain this winter, we may have struggled a bit. I hope you will return in the summer when the weather has improved. Stephen.
