Set in picturesque Dumfries and Galloway, Landis Farm Certificated Site offers a peaceful, family friendly base just minutes from the village of New Abbey. Direct access to the South West Coastal 300 Route. Five electric hardstanding pitches for motorhomes and caravans. With plenty of walks from the site, it's ideal for walkers, cyclists and dogs. Open for season from 1 March 2026.

About the site

Located on a farm in the Scottish countryside, this small site provides a quiet, relaxing escape for families, couples, and solo travellers. The site has just five electric hardstanding pitches with 16 amp electric hook up. Guests have free access to the accessible shower block located on the farm. Suitable for campervans and caravans only. Sorry, no tents or tent boxes. Up to three dogs are allowed per pitch. Please ensure they are kept on leads. A warm water dog wash is available, and there is also an exercise area where four-legged visitors can run around, and a south-facing viewpoint over the Solway Firth towards the coast of Cumbria and The Lake District mountains. Guests can view the farm's collection of vintage tractors and meet friendly goats. The village of New Abbey is just a 15 minute walk away and offers a small shop, pub, an award-winning tearoom, and several scenic walks. Just a 15 minute drive from Dumfries, it's a great base for exploring the local area, or head 20 minutes to the coast for a day at Sandyhills Beach. Direct access to the South West Coastal 300 Route!

Onsite, there are unisex toilets and showers, accessible facilities, and a handwash basin with hot and cold water. Free WiFi is available throughout the site. Guests will have access to a dishwashing and drying area, along with a dog walking exercise area.

The site also has a mini museum where guests can view a collection of vintage tractors and farm implements.

The Abbey Arms Hotel is less than a five minute drive and has a bar onsite, or head 15 minutes to the Cavern Arms. Morrisons, Lidl, and Marks and Spencer are all a 15 minutes drive away.

A note from the site themselves...

We are proud to have won CAMC awards as voted by our visitors. Our home is where the Carruthers family have lived for 100 years. We are delighted to share our space, where peace and tranquillity are assured. The site has lots of trees, shrubs and flowers to attract wildlife. There is a fantastic array of bird life visiting our feeders, which are placed for guests to view.

Little exterior lighting enhances the dark skies - stars galore!

*Please check out by 11:30am on the day of your departure.

*A maximum of three dogs per booking. Please keep them on their leads. Breeds or cross breeds mentioned in the dangerous dogs act are not accepted on site.

Things to do on site and in the Dumfries area

Sweetheart Abbey is just a five minute drive from the site and home to historic ruins dating back to the 13th century. The 7stanes Mabie trail is only ten minutes away, offering a series of mountain biking trails for all abilities, plus a bike shop, bike hire, and cafe.

Head 15 minutes to Dumfries, where you'll find plenty of shops and scenic spots, including Dumfries Museum, Dumfries Ice Bowl, and Dock Park for picnics, complete with a play area, mini golf, and a seasonal cafe.

For beach days, Sandyhills and Southerness Beaches are also just 20 minutes away, while Rockcliffe Beach is ten minutes further along the coast.

Families will love Mabie Farm Park (15 minutes), with play areas and hands-on animal petting. Or explore the beauty of Threave Garden and Nature Reserve (National Trust for Scotland), 35 minutes away, with its scenic gardens and wildlife.
