A beautiful, small mature woodland site with space for camping, caravans and motor homes. Very well equipped and maintained to a very high standard. Genuinely dog friendly that is open to all well behaved dogs of all sizes and breeds, we have an elderly Rottweiler and a Cockerpoo and both were welcome, unlike some site that ban any of the larger dog breeds. Plenty of space for everyone, including children who could run around without upsetting anyone, a small well equipped play area and a swimming pool were an added bonus. A very peaceful environment that would suit almost anyone who wanted to get away for a while.

By far the best campsite we have stayed at. It was perfect for the kids with a small playpark and wooded area, which the kids loved, all within sight from the pitch. The owners were very accommodating and the outside pool was brilliant.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the tranquil, calming and beautiful location. The pitches are spacious, the staff were welcoming and helpful, the shop well stocked, the pool warm and the facilities were clean. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

We booked relatively last minute and would ordinarily have booked somewhere 'closer to the coast'. So glad that we didn't as Alpine Grove was a haven away from the masses, but only a quick trip in the car to Beer/Lyme/Charmouth etc. Set in woodland near chard, our pitch was spacious and had EHU. Plenty of trails and walks but also a wonderful place to simply relax. Clean facilities, plenty of hot water at all times, lovely shop and a swimming pool. We will definitely be back.

A lovely site, perfectly situated for walking and cycling. The woods are just beautiful. The outdoor pool is heated. A lovely safe environment for the children! A 2 mile cycle into the charming market town of Chard. The Village Bakery in the town is a go-to destination, just good old-fashioned fresh food in their cafe. The ham salad was divine! Not a complaint, just a suggestion…the showers could definitely be hotter.

Booked very last minute for Easter weekend, and what a fab find! The site is absolutely beautiful, set in woodland and small, so no overcrowding or feeling overlooked. We will definitely be booking again in the future! I read a few reviews saying the facilities weren't great, but I found they were clean throughout our stay. Literally, the only thing I could mark down is that when I used the shower, it stayed warm for about 30 seconds, then went cold and didn't warm back up. Other than that, there were no negatives to our stay!

Great campsite with lovely facilities. My children enjoyed the heated pool, despite the rainy weather. Toilet/shower blocks were clean and had a hairdryer facility, which was a welcome find after a swim.

We stayed in a woodland pitch which was beautiful and peaceful. We had a nice secluded spot, the dog loved the shade of the trees and the children enjoyed exploring and riding their bikes around the little tracks. There is a nice play area for the kids and an outdoor pool which you could book a private slot for. Perfect for a splash around and great that it wasn't overcrowded. The owner also let us use it outside of our booked slot because it was quiet, so always worth popping into the shop to ask. Our pitch was further from the facilities, the meadow pitches are closer but busier, so it depends on what you prefer. Nice hot showers, clean toilets and a family bathroom, which is really handy with kids. There wasn't much traffic moving around, so it felt safe letting the kids roam free. There's a lovely little woodland walk which is perfect for the dog. It had a great feel on site and people respected the quiet after 22:30. There were no electric points in public areas, so take a power bank if you need to charge phones etc. The only downside was that the compost toilet in the woods was a bit smelly, we did visit on a particularly hot weekend though and it didn't bother us, but may be a problem for some? Overall, it was a really enjoyable stay and we would definitely return 😊

Nice secure little site in a wonderful location, but no point in having a quiet policy after 10:30pm and before 7:30am if it don't exist. We were kept awake by a very loud party on the Friday night until 1am on the Saturday night. Showers took too long to get hot and kept going cold when they did eventually warm up. Recycling area was very messy and smelly. Very sorry, but won't be returning, not for me.

Thank you for your review and we are sorry that you had a poor experience staying with us. We take all feedback very seriously and will investigate the things you have mentioned to see where improvements can be made. Groups can be difficult to manage, which is why we only allow groups outside of the main holiday period and we always make them aware of our site rules, especially the noise curfew. Anyone who does not comply with our rules will be spoken to and groups will not be permitted to return.

We enjoyed a lovely stay on this woodland site. Family-run, friendly and accommodating. We loved the swimming pool and had lots of fun in the park. The woods offered great shade during the heatwave. Location couldn’t have been better for visiting beaches, River Cottage and National Trust properties. Ideal stay. Campfires are a must!

Lovely family friendly site, also accepts dogs. Pitches were tired and not brilliantly maintained, but to be fair, the weather has been awful. Small forest walk on site, children's play area and swimming pool only really suitable for children. Small shop on site. Facilities are good and owners work hard to keep them clean and in order, but it seems visitors don't leave things as they find them. Lovely to see people camped amongst the trees, and well spaced out. No noise rule after 22:30, which seemed to work. Plenty of walks near by, local pub about 3/4 hour walk and fairly easy walk to Forde Abbey, just over 2 miles away. We had a lovely peaceful and relaxing break.

We only stayed one night, but it's a nice site and exactly what you expect from a campsite. Not just another muddy field. Great for families.

One of the best campsites I've been to. Very spacious woodland pitch, which was easily accessible and offered a great deal of privacy. Surrounded by rhododendrons, which made natural dens for my young child to play around. Great facilities including swimming pool and play equipment which my littlen loved! Highly recommend and will return again in the future! Thank you!

We went with 4 adults and 3 kids (11 and two 9 year olds). Lovely quiet place with a brilliant little pool. Showers close to the pool, which was really handy. Just a little far out for us to head to the beach every day.

In short, during very hot May/June days in 2023 when you arrive at Alpine Grove, tucked away under the trees it was blessedly cool. A very green site that encourages recycling, the facilities are top notch - and not busy, even when the park is near full capacity. The addition of a freezer to borrow ice blocks from was very welcome.

A beautiful setting in a forest, and a lovely atmosphere. We were there at half term so plenty of kids...including ours. There is a small playground in the middle, along with a permanent ping-pong table to keep them entertained. The toilet block was well kept, and they are very passionate about recycling, with plenty of different bins for the various items people often just chuck away. There is a small shop with a few essentials if you forget - a huge Tesco is within a 5 minute drive. The sea (Lyme Regis) is about 20 minutes away and we also recommend the beach at Bridport, especially if you have a dog... a great cafe there, though a little pricey.

My 5yr old gave it 10/10 and so did we. Lovely setting with the trees. Really safe for kids. Not too big and with a play park right in the middle, so we could relax whilst giving her some freedom to go off and play, but could still see her. Nice warm pool and friendly, helpful staff. Added bonus was having a freezer for ice packs. Great value for money. We will certainly visit again.
