Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2)Aug 2025

Just got back from a weekend at Barn Farm Campsite, stayed in Field 2 in a tent with my dog. Firstly, the staff are wonderful from email communication before arrival (thank you Emma on reception) to the gentleman in the shop and the couple who run the 'Butty Box'. The facilities are fantastic, very hot 'free' showers, plenty of toilets. Highly recommend the Druid Inn pub for food. I am planning on booking to come back next month for a weekend and many more after that. Would have definitely stayed longer if I could.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1)Aug 2025

The staff are really lovely and helpful. There's enough space if you don't mind a slope but some areas of other fields were really dense. The facilities are really clean and excellent. Really thoughtful things provided with no additional cost. Showers are really well planned out with hooks and benches so you don't end up dropping your towels in puddles and have space to change. Loads of toilets. Freezers and fridges provided. Games room for rainy day bored kids. Great playground and woods for playing in. It was a bit noisy at night, you can hear local pub karaoke! And other guests had kids running round very noisy until 10pm and some with amplified music until 11pmish but this wasn't the case last year, so might have been unlucky this year. I also think the staff would definitely have sorted this out if it went on longer or annoyed us enough to complain! Also, peacocks! We love it here and will definitely be back.

A perfect family getaway at Barn Farm Campsite!

Small Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2)Aug 2025

We had an amazing stay at Barn Farm Campsite in Birchover - it's the ideal spot for families! The campsite is set in a stunning location in the Peak District, offering spectacular views and plenty of outdoor space. It's a peaceful, safe environment that made us feel at ease, especially with young kids. The facilities are spotlessly clean and well-maintained, and the site feels incredibly secure - perfect for letting the little ones explore. There's a great sense of safety and openness, allowing our kids to roam and enjoy the outdoors without worry. The campsite is spacious, with plenty of room for tents and campervans, and the team is so friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience that much more enjoyable. With easy access to scenic walks, hikes, and nearby attractions like Chatsworth House and Bakewell, there's never a dull moment. But we also loved how relaxing and peaceful it was, offering the perfect balance for both kids and adults. I would highly recommend Barn Farm Campsite to families looking for a safe, scenic, and fun getaway - we can't wait to return!

Large Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4)Aug 2025

Great family site, good shop with plenty of supplies, lots of great local walks. Bit of a trek to the nearest 'big shop'. The site is on a slope but plenty of flat pitches.

A gem of a site we are so glad we found

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

Beautiful site, friendly family running the site who couldn't do more to help. Having peacocks on the site was an extra bonus that I didn't know I needed! If touring bring chocks/wedges as site is on a hill.

Fantastic campsite

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

Just returned after a fantastic 9 nights at Barn Farm Campsite. Emma was super helpful with directions prior to our arrival and was then on hand to answer any of our questions. Great size pitches with super views and clean shower/toilet blocks. Handy on site shop too. Two great pubs, all within walking distance. Lovely walks from the campsite or a great base to Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock. We will definitely return, Thanks again Emma.

Loved our stay, it's the 3rd time of visiting. I would say there definitely needed to be more cleaners on site, the toilet bins were overflowing with paper towels, the skips were over flowing with smelly rubbish. Definitely not as clean as last year when we visited. We had the best time as a family and love it here. Just would have been nice if it was cleaner.

Loved our stay

Beautiful campsite, great facilities, lovely helpful staff. Every thing you need. We only stayed two nights, but could have easily stayed here much longer. Very family friendly. Lots of young children having a blast. Loved the alpacas, peacocks and very friendly squirrels.

Medium Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4)Aug 2025

Lovely stay would thoroughly recommend. We camped in Field 4 which was great as we were near the kid's play area. The field has a gentle slope but there are some flat areas. Very convenient for the shower/ toilet block as well as pot washing, shop and games room. Take lots of 50p's. On our first night we ate in the local pub the Red Lion. Food, was very good and not too expensive. However there was a pop up pizza (wood fired) stall at the campsite, also a breakfast stall. Lastly, my daughter loved the peacocks and alpacas.

Absolutely great stay!

Small Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2)Aug 2025

Stayed here for two nights this weekend. We had 6 adults and 6 kids. The campsite is lovely. A huge field so we could set up our camp, and leave loads of room for the kids to play football, fly kites, throw gliders, and run around. The toilets are all nice and clean. The pizza van on the Friday was superb; we had a great tea from there. The butty wagon is also great; big breakfast cobs kept us fed both mornings. The camp is a short walk from a couple of local pubs which was nice. There are plenty of bins on site which were regularly emptied. The staff were nice and the kids loves seeing the Alpaca's and the peacocks. It was a lovely stay. Last year we stayed at Callow top. We did miss having a pub / bar on site a little; and I didn't think there was a play park but actually I think there was and we just didn't see it. I would 100% recommend staying here. We would definitely return. Thank you for a great stay.

Fantastic campsite

Just returned from our stay at Barn Farm. I keep returning to this site because it is always very clean, and the grounds are immaculate. The site often has a pop up Pizza stall, Breakfast van every morning and I think on one visit a pop up bar. Located close to Matlock, Bakewell and Carsington water. Alpacas on the farm and Peacocks roam the site, also 2 very unusual white Peacocks. We loved our visit and I'm sure will be returning again

Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2)Aug 2025

The campsite is located in Birchover, not far from Matlock. The joining instructions were very good. It was fairly easy to find although the Sat-nav took us down a bit of a dirt track. I think that was called Birchover Lane. Ignore this and just carry on. It's not much further and better roads. The emails and information we received before we arrived were timely and informative. We had no problem locating the site. We were met by very friendly lady who explained the layout of the site to us and gave us a site map. We were a family of 12 staying in 4 tents. We booked field two so that we could all be together. This worked extremely well, and we had plenty of space for all of our cooking facilities and BBQ. We used the adult only showers which unfortunately were a little bit cold. The showers in the toilet block, however, were lovely and warm. The weekend that we stayed a wood fired pizza van and a breakfast butty van were on site for some of the time. We didn't use any of the other facilities, but we had plenty of space for the grandchildren to play football and cricket which was enough for us. We visited Gulliver's Kingdom which was about a 20 minute drive from the campsite. We also had dinner at the Druid's Inn on the Saturday. It was a bit expensive but the homemade food was lovely. It also sold Hawkstone lager which went down well with the men in our party. In summary, this was a lovely weekend in a beautiful part of the countryside, and well worth the money we paid. We will definitely return.

Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2)Aug 2025

We have had a fantastic experience. The facilities are nice and clean, and the hard work on maintenance shows. Not only the well-prepared campers but also the casual campers can enjoy the beautiful and peaceful environment. You can do your cooking or buy some delicious pizzas for dinner. A decent breakfast can be purchased on-site. You can walk or hike near the campsite and enjoy the beautiful scenery. As a dog owner, we are so happy that dogs are welcome. The staff on site are friendly and helpful. It is worth visiting and staying.

Field 2 is definitely the place to stay if you have a tent

Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2)Aug 2025

A very well run camp site, clean with good facilities including a small shop, laundry facilities, fridge and freezer. Some options for toilet and shower facilities, individual adult only showers, individual toilets and wash basins for privacy. Otherwise the usual row of individual showers and separate toilets. Very clean. We stayed on field 2 which is huge and flat, this field is not open all the time. There is another field which is sloping. and is open as a regular field. There is a separate area for caravans. We had never camped before and will definitely be back. The Druid Inn in the village is walkable and has a very nice local gin and great food. Great walks from the campsite to the Nine Ladies Bronze Age stone circle. We walked to Stanton on Peak and had a welcome drink at The Flying Childers. Definitely recommend the site.

A wonderful weekend
