Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2026

Absolutely wonderful stay, would definitely come back again. Close to lots of things to do and local amenities. Friendly owners. Decent facilities sometimes the showers were too hot which wasn’t ideal when I was trying to shower my daughter but we made it work. I was there just me and 5yo and I felt really safe the whole time which isn’t always the way on some sites. 5 stars all round.

A great stay

Trailer Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2026

We had a fantastic stay, staff were very friendly and helpful and the camp shop was very well stocked, better than some much larger sites. We’ll definitely be back.

Wonderful time at Woodyhyde again.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2026

The whole Woodyhyde team are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I could get lots of things needed in the shop including food and ice packs and any camping kit required. No shortage of shower tokens. Really clean showers and sinks and toilets on the whole. This was given 4 due to a minority of mucky campers. More regular hot food service would have given facilities a 5. All campers I spoke to were really approachable and friendly. Dogs, children and adults of all ages. Lots of walks, pubs and just the right level of peaceful. Still love the steam train.

Great site,ideal location to explore

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

This ticked the boxes for us and was as described. Location was great - a short walk to Corfe Castle or up in the hills behind to catch the castle silhouette in the sunset. Previous reviews helpful - shower tokens not an issue. Holding the taps down to wash or wash up was annoying but an understandable way to control water use. I didn't see any covered washing up areas for inclement weather but not a problem for our stay. The on site shop well kitted out. No kids with us, but all the others seemed to enjoy the little wooded area.

A lovely site

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

This was a lovely site in a beautiful location, with fantastic views. However, there were a few issues. The toilet block is central to the three fields, which makes sense for convenience, but the steep hill climb back up to our pitch was something of a challenge. As we had a loo in the van, it was not too much of a problem. The toilets were also very low and I didn't find a more accessible toilet in the white toilet block. My husband described them as "infants toilets" - i.e. the sort of toilets found in a primary school. As the site is child friendly, this may have been a deliberate choice but for us older adults with arthritis, it was a challenge to get off the loo. There were no grab rails to assist and the toilet block did look somewhat dated. Working out when the shop was going to be open was also a bit of a challenge as there didn't seem to be consistent times. This made buying the tokens for the showers difficult. The tokens were 50p each for 4 minutes. This seemed a bit expensive to us, especially as the showers didn't look great. The other problem was the mozzies. I know this is not the site's fault - it's a fact of nature, but we came away smothered in bites and the mozzies were quite large compared to others even a few miles away. We would recommend visitors stock up on mozzie repellent and antihistamines/creams for the bites.

Great Find

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

Glad we chose this Campsite....we wanted to be near Swanage... also Corfe Castle, Studland and Wareham are all close by. The pitch sizes are good. The toilet/shower blocks were clean...the showers and washing up water could've been a bit hotter. The shop was well stocked...only open a couple of hours morning and afternoon.

Great location

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

What a lovely friendly safe location Woodyhyde is! The site team were so helpful and friendly. The shop was well stocked. Don’t worry about token operated showers if, like me, you’ve not done that before. There was plenty of room and all the guest / campers / neighbours were friendly. Have booked to go back already. The steam train to the edge of the site was charming.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

This was our first experience camping in a tent, and we can't wait to do it again. In fact, we'd love to come back to Woodyhyde. The campsite is in a fantastic location, just off the main road and completely surrounded by nature, yet only 18 minutes from the sea. The nearest village, Corfe Castle, is absolutely enchanting and well worth a visit. The campsite has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and the peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place to relax. We will definitely be coming back, as we'd love to explore more of this beautiful area.

Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

Positives. Location, views, Swanage line trains. Wi-Fi excellent coverage but also speed - free streaming. Shop availability and contents first class. Do whatever pitches. Feels like a Glastonbury site, which is good. Negatives. Showers and toilet block - okay but shabby and below standard. Impossible grey waste disposal position. Overall, depends on what is important to you but suited us admirably.

excellent campsite

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2026

Stop over for a 4 day weekend, had an electric grass pitch were I could pitch anywhere in the area, which can be a bit confusing. Great for the trainspotters as they regularly run along the edge of the field.

Highly recommend

Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's HutJun 2026

We had a really lovely stay in one of the Shepard huts. The hut was beautiful, clean and perfect for our 2 night stay. The campsite has great facilities and perfect location for lovely walks to either Corfe Castle, Dancing Ledge or further along the Jurassic coastal path. Site staff and management were very helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend and can’t wait to return.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2026

Loved this site and enjoyed taking the steam train to Swanage. Not many areas for non electric pitches that are close to the facilities, so had a bit of a walk. Toilet block was a little disappointing - felt very basic and a bit dark and dingy and there was paper everywhere on day 1. The shop sells practically everything and the staff are really friendly!

Great site

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2026

Even though the site was full by the end of the first afternoon, there was a lovely, peaceful atmosphere. It almost had a festival feel to it. The only issue we found was that the showers were always cold. Fortunately, the weather was glorious, so we soon warmed up again.

Loved our stay

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2026

We had an electric hard standing pitch - absolutely no issues - although a bit of a walk to the water points. You'll need levelling ramps as there is an incline on all pitches but again - not a significant issue. Facilities were clean, 4 mins is plenty of time for a shower, which were warm and really clean. No covered washing up area though so was a bit miserable doing this in the rain. The steam train line right behind our pitch wasn't an issue as it started well into the morning and was a nice sight!
