Spacious and immaculately clean
VW-Type Campervan - Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2026 Great peaceful campsite with enormous, private serviced pitches.
Very clean and tidy with well signposted walks through the forest.
Smart electric meters were easy to use and great facilities. Nothing not to like!

Great place to stay
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2026 We stayed here for 2 nights in a tent and it was a great place to stay toilets and showrooms were kept clean and tidy and we loved the family showroom. Nice little park across from where we was and was great for the kids. We would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back

A much needed couple of nights away
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2026 Peaceful, tranquil for example morning coffee accompanied by nothing but birdsong. Lovely surroundings and little strolls where we saw squirrels, horses, ducks and numerous birdlife. The showers, toilets, laundry etc were spotless. We stayed on a pitch with privacy hedges either side and it was perfect. A really well kept, gem of a find. Thank you 😊

Peaceful
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2026 We were spoilt with great weather.
On top of this, the site was outstanding, so quiet with well maintained hedges and lawns, and facilities were immaculately cleaned and up to date.
Staff were all very friendly and polite.

Clean and Lovely Amenities
Medium Tent - Fully Serviced Grass Pitches Sep 2026 We really enjoyed our stay at Hill Cottage Farm Campsite. It's a lovely, well laid out site with mature vegetation, generous pitches and a charming, slightly twee feel (rather than the wilder feel of the New Forest campsites further South). The pitches are flat and the larger camping fields have plenty of hedges, although some pitches are exposed to full sun for much of the day.
The showers were lovely and warm, although the cubicles are quite small, and there are only two sinks in the washrooms which caused congestion even in the low season. The information centre was very helpful, and the little shop is a great addition, stocking food, toys and useful camping essentials.
Our pitch was quite muddy, but the biggest downside for us was the road noise. During rush hour from about 6am, the traffic passing the tent side of the site was surprisingly loud and at times it genuinely felt as though we were sleeping beside a race track!
We would happily return to Hill Cottage Farm, but next time we would definitely request a pitch on the lake side of the site, away from the road. A lovely campsite with lots going for it - just choose your pitch carefully.

For future refence there is a sign by the toilets that informs our guest there are more toilets and showers available by the main building.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2026 Good location, site well laid out, good for dogs all in all very nice site. For us the only draw back was the so called "smart meter" system which is only smart to the operators not guests we may have had some credit left (albeit small) but there was no clear way from the system as to how this can be treated in fact as soon as the 11.00 time was reached on the last day, we were denied access to the system. Just received adds from the controlling company about their great business model / profit .For this reason I doubt we will be returning to Hill Cottage Farm. Would only recommend the site with the proviso on highlighting the method of electricity charging caution.

Thank you for your feedback. Most guests find the smart metering electric system very user friendly, however we are always there to help those who perhaps may struggle with it. You were more than welcome to pop into reception and get assistance with the electric. Check out time is 11am and this is why your account would have closed at this time. You used £9.43 during your 5 night stay, most i'm sure would agree, this is a reasonable amount, and it's the smart metering that helps to keep costs down. Many campsites can charge up to £10 per day for electric.

Beautiful site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2026 We loved the site it was perfect!! We really had a lovely weekend and the Greek Street food on Saturday evening was excellent.The site was well kept and very clean.
The only thing it was no where near a bus stop/ route.
And we couldn't even get a Taxi or Uber.
Other than that it was Perfect.

In regards of taxis, we have several numbers in our info room available but because of where we are some may not be always come out this way. We are aware some customers have managed to use Uber aswell.

Couple plus dog!
Large Tent - Fully Serviced Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Great campsite, which felt safe and secure. ANPR cameras let your cars in and out of the site.
Dog friendly, and good facilities. We stayed in a fully serviced grass pitch, which was a great size for our 6 man tent, windbreak to create a garden and our car. The privacy hedges were also great, which meant less windbreaks therefore less work for us.
The staff in the reception were very kind and welcoming.
They had a coffee landrover near the facilities block most mornings which did lovely coffee, and on one of the nights there was a Greek van which smelt amazing, but we weren’t braving the gale force winds and rain for a bite!
Would definitely return!

Perfect little break
Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's Hut (Dog Friendly) Aug 2026 This was the perfect base for a stay in the new forest. The hut was just the right size for my husband, daughter and myself. Very clean and well maintained.
The site had good facilities and the visiting vendors were a lovely extra.

August stay
Twin Axle Caravan - Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2026 Lovely large level pitch with high hedges either side. Even though it’s the summer holidays it was peaceful. We had a meal at the Thai restaurant on site which was delicious which also did a take away service. There’s a lovely circular walk adjacent to the camping field, also walks through the forest which also leads to the village and pub.
The staff were helpful and friendly.
It’s also a good location for travelling around Dorset.

Quite,Clean and Simple
Medium Tent - Fully Serviced Grass Pitches Aug 2026 We stayed with our Black Lab on one of the serviced pitches. Its been a while Since we've been camping.
The 'check-in' process is easy, read your email get your pitch and arrive, no queuing at reception and no faff.
The site is well laid out, the grass serviced pitches have hedges that give an extra bit of privacy from neighbours.
The Toilet and Shower facilities are some of the best I have ever used. Modern and always nice and clean. The added bonus of a dry and wet side in the shower stalls made it easier to change without getting your clean clothes wet.
There is WiFi around the site, with good signal around the main areas of the site, and fast speeds meant searching for up to date information about any activities and walks was easy.

Large Tent - Fully Serviced Grass Pitches Jul 2026 We stayed for the first time for 3 nights and have just got home. We would have stayed longer if we could have and are desperately looking for dates we can come back! Brilliant campsite with modern working facilities (only thing I would say is pleeeease can the shower timers be made longer, it was quite hard to shower properly with the short time given), the little shop is lovely and the whole campsite is generally just all very welcoming, very serene and just what we needed. We cannot wait to come back!

A very good, quiet campsite
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 A very good, quiet campsite with a shop within walking distance. There is a shop within walking distance through the woods, some fishing ponds that could do with trimming back some of the tree branches for better casting abilities.
The location is good, fairly remote and quiet with pleasant other families. Some too days out are all within 40 minutes drive too.
The Thai restaurant was a little disappointing as the quality of the food wasn't great. Perhaps that's because we have a very good one near home, but we wouldn't choose to eat there again.
The Indian restaurant in Verwood "Spice of India" was fantastic food, but left a very smelly tent during the night 😂😂
We will definitely consider this site again in the future.

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 we had a fantastic stay until the final eve when it seemed a few newer campers didn't know how to follow the rules. But besides that the washing facilities were great, the grounds are well looked after and we met some wonderful people.
