About the site

Set on a working farm, guests can enjoy the clucking of chickens and the background buzz of a real farm going about its business. Named after the famous Anglo-Saxon estate, a short walk will take you to the National Trust site which is home to a royal burial site, precious artefacts and a historical ship. The site is home to 20 serviced 10m x 12m grass pitches with optional 16 amp electric. All allow tents, tourers and RVs with up to six guests. Located just off a B road, guests can enjoy easy access to many of Suffolk's most popular destinations. VW-Type Campervan - Serviced Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Oct 2025

Great little campsite, ideally positioned for visiting the Sutton Hoo site. It's exactly as described, with all essential facilities available and included in a very reasonable price. I liked the thoughtful extras found in the shed such as communal fridges and freezers, local information, bus timetables etc. and a family bathroom. Easy walk into Woodbridge, along the river, and good bus service back. Would definitely recommend, I'd like to return and explore the area further.

Welcoming, accommodating and accessible

Fantastic, accessible, dog and children friendly campsite with great service and warm friendly people. On site facilities with fire pits and fire wood for the outdoor camper. Everything you need from a campsite, including thoughtful consideration of bus times and places of interest and local medical services if needed. About 15 minutes walk from Sutton Hoo with the Burial Mounds, Viewing Tower, Cafe, Book Shop, Visitor Centre, Gift Shop, Guided Tour, Picnic area and walks. Lovely village just a mile down the road with convenience stores, chip shop etc. and the local pub has fantastic food and great service.

A note from the site themselves...

When I retired from the Health Service, I decided that I needed to have something to do that would allow me to meet people. I started volunteering at the wonderful Anglo Saxon Burial Site here at Sutton Hoo and quickly realised that we needed to have a campsite as there were so many visitors arriving that were asking if I knew of anywhere to stay.

My husband Garrow and I then planned the campsite from scratch to offer, simplicity with all the services. Lovely big pitches with little hedges to surround each pitch offering some privacy once established. The kind of site we enjoyed when camping in France.

I really enjoy meeting people and making new friends who return each year. It is wonderful to watch the children playing and making friends by the climbing frame and swings while their parents enjoy rest and relaxation while keeping an eye on them.

Each year we look forward to opening the site again and welcoming campers to our particularly beautiful part of Suffolk. I hope to see you soon, Helen
