Our first night in our camper
VW-Type Campervan - Rabbit Field Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2025 Our shake down night in our 'new to us' camper and it was great😃
We arrived a little early but were greeted with a smile and a ready and waiting pitch. Rabbit Field 2 pitch had great views and is close to the newly refurbished ablutions and the cocktail van 👍😍
Small shop on site allows you to buy a few bits and offers some breakfast items, and Daz, the company cocktail guy, opens up at 9am to provide breakfast rolls, all very nice.
Very nice, 100% recommend 👍

Motorhome - The View Large Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2025 First class facilities, great location and really friendly, helpful staff.
Well laid out pitches. Cleanest facilities we have ever seen. A long walk down hill to villages and very steep walk back.

Hiker's paradise
Single Axle Caravan - Beggar's Field Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2025 Perfectly located for hikers. Close to Exmoor and a walk into Lynmouth or Lynton. The walks into Lynmouth and Lynton are on heavy gradients so be aware and make sure you have appropriate footwear. Short drives to Coombe Martin, Porlock, Ilfracombe and other coastal sites.
Site is extremely well kept and the staff are very friendly, you get the feeling nothing would be too much trouble if you had any problems.
Facilities are excellent. My only small complaint would be that the toilets and shower rooms were not heated during my stay and at times, they were very cold. It made showering a little unpleasant.
All in all though, I believe it is a great site and well worth a visit.

A lovely place
Sprinter-Type Campervan - The View Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Oct 2024 Really clean, beautiful location. Facilities were really good, toilets included a hair dryer. Overall, a lovely place.
Just to note, the pub next door is closed permanently.

Peaceful
VW-Type Campervan - Beggar's Field Electric Grass Pitches Oct 2024 I cannot recommend this site highly enough.
I stayed for three nights in the middle of October my first solo trip away in my campervan. Although, one tiny downside is most of the pitches you'll need blocks for your vans as they all have a slight slope. I forgot mine, however, the staff said that I could have any one of the free pitches available to move to, so extremely accommodating.
I've yet to go to a campsite with such good facilities. The toilet shower block all seem to be very new or if not kept in extremely good condition. What was lovely was when I went for a shower and it was freezing outside, the whole block was nice and warm! There are washing sinks with a small dishwasher, a freezer where you can put your ice blocks and a power bank for mobile devices.
Lynton and Lynmouth is a beautiful place to visit quite a steep walk down to the town however, plenty of parking around, bear in mind it was mid October that I went. Valley of rocks is simply stunning. Also visited Ilfracombe half an hour drive away, which was worth a visit.

Lovely quiet site
VW-Type Campervan - Beggar's Field Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2024 Lovely site with plenty of space. Very well kept with clean facilities, plenty of toilets, showers and pot washing sinks.
You can walk to Lynton and Lynmouth through the fields and woods but it's hard going coming back.
Just a few bits that people might be interested in if deciding to book - there is no lighting around the camping field so it's pitch black after dark - great for star gazing but you need a torch if you don't want to trip up. Also, there are no privacy cubicles in the facilities if you just want a wash or clean teeth in private.
Take a torch into the facilities because the sensor doesn't pick up movement in toilets or showers - I learnt that one quickly!

Sounds like you had a great stay! The lack of lighting does make it perfect for stargazing, but definitely something to keep in mind for future visitors who might not be prepared for the dark.

Amazing stay in a beautiful location
Bell Tent - Stargazer Lotus Belle Tent (Pet Free) Sep 2024 A beautiful location with walking distance to Lynmouth and the local pubs. The facilities were amazing and clean. The bell tent itself was cosy and the bed was comfortable, highly recommend.

Small Tent - Bay View Electric Grass and Gravel Pitches Sep 2024 Absolutely loved our stay here and had a fantastic holiday.
Exceptionally clean toilet facilities and a very clean campsite, the only thing that was lacking was maybe a bigger shop. September is always a gamble with the weather and we had all sorts from sunny days to howling winds, rain and frost, but we really enjoyed Devon and West Somerset.

Lack of information VW-Type Campervan - Beggar's Field Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2024 Nothing wrong with the site, only the location. The views aren't the best, depending on your pitch.
The pub restaurant been closed next door permanently. No bus route and dangerous roads to walk from the retreat. Their is a couple of walks from the retreat to Lynton and Lynmouth, they are a mile and a half each way. Not the best for disabled.
Won't go there again.

Perfect retreat
Motorhome - Beggar's Field Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 Lovely site, shame the weather was so bad. It's a shame the pub next to the site has closed down.
Highlights - walk from Lynmouth to Watersmeet was beautiful and the cream tea of raspberry and ginger scones at the end was to die for. Local taxi, Riverside, were brilliant. The Cottage Inn Thai pub was fabulous.

Lovely, clean and open campsite
Medium Tent - Bay View Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2024 We opted for Bay View field, which was lovely and we could indeed see the sea but not actually the bay! The field is on a slope but the actual pitch was flat in the right orientation. The facilities were great - lots of hot water in the showers and even a dishwasher - what luxury when camping! The whole toilet block area was spotlessly clean and warm.
My only gripe would be that in the bathroom there are only open sinks, none in cubicles, which would have been a little better for washing in privacy.
We walked from the site down to Lynmouth, which is a lovely walk, but very steep, especially on the return journey!
The staff at the site were super friendly and helpful.

Wow, this place is amazing
Sprinter-Type Campervan - The View Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 I can't say enough good things about my experience. Ian was extremely kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. He recommended walks to go on and things to see.
It was a very quiet location and close to the towns of Lynmouth and Lynton. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks through the farm fields down into Lynton and the Valley of the Rocks. We also walked to Watersmeet and enjoyed the footpath options to get there.
The facilities were all very clean and well taken care of. I don't have a single critical comment. We would definitely stay here again.

Reception has pastries and coffee too if you don't.

Fantastic campsite
Large Tent - Beggar's Field Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 It is a fantastic campsite, with a great location and a nice view. It is also very clean and very peaceful. I wish it had a playground for children as well, but I still recommend it to families.

The field was really rocky, however, and our experience was coloured by unclear communication with the staff about early arrival charges.

4 nights motorhome
Motorhome - The View Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2024 Great location with easy access to Lynton and Lynmouth via a walk or short taxi ride. The walk is a bit hard-going (very steep) so got a taxi back each time for around £8.
Campsite has good sized pitches and fully serviced, great shop onsite with all the basics, milk, bread etc. Will definitely be booking a stay again next year.
