Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field)May 2026

We had a really lovely holiday on this camp site, really enjoyed being close to the play area with easy access to the beach. The kids really loved it and had lots of fun. The pitch was nice and large, we had plenty of space. The bathroom facilities were good, some people not always considerate but the cleaning was always done. We would definitely go back, the whole place had a lovely vibe and the sunny weather really helped. Also, there are a lot of beautiful walks in the area.

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches (Main Field)May 2026

Lovely site in a lovely location, the beach is just off the site with lovely views. Really peaceful, lot's of small birds like Pied Wagtails & Sparrows, a few Seagulls but not too many as there are no food stands around to attract them like many seaside resorts. The site is very clean and the staff and campers are really friendly. The toilets and showers really clean, water pressure very good with really hot water & hairdryers. The hand dryers are really powerful and actually dry your hands completely. Outdoor washing up area with really hot water. There are rose bushes outside the toilet/shower block which smell lovely. There are plenty of bins around the site. The food at the Rolling Stone bar is very nice and reasonably priced with friendly staff. The Spar shop on site is very good and stocks things you actually need and the prices are really good. There are some lovely places to walk to along footpaths.

Excellent site

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field)May 2026

Lovely helpful staff from booking in at reception, to restaurant/bar staff, and in the Spar shop. It was very quiet whilst we were there, unlike the bank holiday apparently The site is 5 minutes walk to the beach. Lovely views from the bar. Easy access to bus stops, which are literally at the top of the road. You can go towards Weymouth or Axminster, via Bridport. The toilet, shower facilities are great. They are kept very clean and tidy.m

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field)May 2026

We stayed at this campsite for three nights and had a fantastic experience. Everything really impressed us - from the friendly and helpful staff to the entertainment, which was engaging and well organised. Even though the season hasn't fully started yet, there was still plenty to do. The pools are great for both older children and younger ones, and we especially appreciated that the outdoor pool is heated. The whole site is very clean and well maintained. The shop is also very well stocked, which made our stay even more convenient. Overall, we are very happy with our stay and would definitely love to come back in the future.

It was a shame the showers were not hot but everything else was great. We have booked end of May and the end of August because we had a great time.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field)May 2026

Stayed for 3 nights in the main touring field. The pitches are large with plenty of space for a camper and a big awning. Our pitch location wasn't great, on a corner directly opposite the entrance road and barriers so had vehicles trundling past almost constantly along with a stream of foot traffic/bikes/scooters and noise. The toilets and showers were clean although showing signs of wear and showers had levers thankfully, not the push button type. Direct access to the beach is a definite highlight and some nice walks in either direction, West Bay about 25 min walk. There's plenty of entertainment and activities for families and this place is aimed squarely at that market so don't expect any peace and quiet at the campsite, there was a constant hum of noise, shouting, screaming from dawn 'til dusk. The Rolling Stone bar was good for food and drinks, ten pin bowling and a magnificent outdoor terrace overlooking the coast. Daily food trucks are worth a visit, we had delicious fish and chips and a curry. Overall, a great holiday park for families and kids situated next to the beach. Not a good touring location if you're looking to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle.

Second visit to this site . Location is great with nice walks into Westbay and Burton. We chose a week after the school holidays and therefore the site was not busy but he standards of cleanliness and helpfulness of staff did not drop. We do intend to visit again, perhaps with the grandchildren to make greater use of all the facilities.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field)Mar 2026

What an amazing place. I took my 8yr old boy on a bit of a lads holiday in a campervan and this place was perfect. Excellent facilities, beach nearby, clean, quiet, safe, family friendly. It was brilliant. If I had to point out a couple of negatives I would say that the reduced menu at the bar was a bit rubbish, though that's just because my boy wants chips with everything, and the closest toilet block to our pitch was closed. The above points were probably because we went out of peak season. I'm sure the works were temporary and would be sorted by peak season.

Our location was perfect, pitch to ourselves, plenty of peace! The car reg didn't work on the barriers so had to phoned several times to get in and it never got resolved. Our last night, went out with the dogs. Thought we'd go to the bar for a drink, but it was shut. Went to go to the shop, which was also shut! At least an hour early which meant we were without essentials for the last night. Not really acceptable and didn't finish off strong.

VW-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches (Main Field)Oct 2025

Two night stopover in our campervan on hardstanding fully serviced. Fantastic site - very peaceful and great facilities: bar, restaurant, pools, and amusements. Site and toilets/showers were super clean and even had security patrolling. Beach was huge with small gravelly stones at top of beach leading down to sand, great for kids. Can't fault it, but we are in October, so may not be indicative of peak season. We loved it and already booked for next year.

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches (Main Field)Sep 2025

Nice park, plenty of space, good dog walking near by. Near to the beach, which was very nice and not busy this time of year. Shower and toilet block in the campervan field was a bit dated/old and looked dirty around the edges, but was functional. Showers were good and not the horrible push for a few minutes type, water was always hot. The fully serviced pitch grey water drain was blocked, but eventually ran away with a poke of a stick. In general, as per the signs and park terms, other dog walkers did have their dogs on leads, but some didn't and thought they were above the rules despite security being on site, which was a bit worrying at times with loose dogs running around while ours were on leads. Other than that really nice place to visit and we would visit again, but only out of full season like this visit, as it looked like it could get very busy.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field)Sep 2025

Had a fabulous break at Freshwater. The grass electric pitch was large with plenty of room for awning. Pitch was flat with no need for levelling ramps. The location is brilliant with direct access to an endless dog friendly beach. Plenty of coastal walks direct from the site. Bus stop right outside the entrance. Facilities such as showers and toilets were spotlessly clean at all times. This site is a credit to the staff who maintain the it. Staff in the well stocked shop were very friendly and efficient . The food in the onsite restaurant was tasty and not overpriced. I could genuinely not find anything I was not happy with. Would highly recommend and will certainly re-visit in the future.

Super clean campsite, which is very well maintained. Lots for the children to do; indoor/outdoor pool, parks, amusements and playing fields. Close to beach and just a half hour walk on the beach to either West Bay or Hive Beach. All staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field)Aug 2025

We had a fantastic stay at Freshwater despite the awful weather for most of it! The campsite is huge and we stayed on the top field which was great. The facilities are amazing, lots to do (even in the wet windy weather!) Swimming pools were a huge hit for our kids, they loved them, even managed to get in the outdoor one a couple of times in between the rain! There was bowling and games machines, and the sports field was a great space. Unfortunately, we couldn't use it much due to the weather. The location on the beach is perfect, although a stony beach so need shoes. Food trucks are there every evening which we thought was fab! We also ate in the bar/restaurant which was lovely too. We cannot praise all the staff in all areas an enough, every single person we spoke to were so friendly and helpful. The security team were great the first night. We had some stormy winds, they came round to check on everyone camping and told us to call them if we didn't feel safe and they will put us in accommodation, they were checking on everyone throughout the night, great service - we felt fine though so stayed in the tent. We will definitely return and hope for better weather next time 🤞🏼

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field)Aug 2025

The main determinant of my feelings about the week was the weather - and obviously the park have no control over that! I will say that there are spacious plots in an attractive location with easy access to the beach. It is certainly family friendly, with a playground on site and loads of open space. However, the toilet/shower block is in need of a serious update and definitely needs cleaning at more frequent intervals than it is currently. At no point when I attempted to shower or wash dishes during my stay (no matter what time of day) was the water anything better than lukewarm. Due to the poor weather, there was a lot of demand for the indoor pool, for which they were operating an online booking system. We managed to book in for an hour slot, only to find that the water slide was out of action and the water 'play area' for younger children also was not working. On the whole we had a good time, but these are issues that feel like they could be rectified.

Good location with beach

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field)Aug 2025

Good location with beach, not so great if you are not with kids, alone with a kid or have a dog. Good location with a beach (deep shelves fyi) and lovely view. Friendly staff and very handy shop. Facilities kept regularly clean. In all honesty, I would recommend if you are a group with younger kids or young teens. I would not recommend if you are travelling as a lone adult with kids and a dog, as you cannot access the pool area (outside) with a dog, nor is there anywhere to leave them safely or within your view, so we couldn't use the pools. Not massively dog friendly. Would benefit from an area for those who want more peace and quiet and an area for dogs to be off lead.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field)Aug 2025

Great family campsite. Super clean facilities, always someone cleaning the toilets and showers. Swimming pool very easy to book online. Food good price in the restaurant. Shop is well stocked and not over priced. Great location, 20 min walk through the golf course to West Bay or 10 mins in the other direction to get to 2 local pubs or a seafood restaurant. Site feels safe for children to ride around and be free. Pitches are big and all in close proximity of a toilet block.

Fantastic family fun

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field)Aug 2025

Fantastic site. The pools were immense for our grandsons aged 7 and 5. They have had the best time ever. So much to do. Easy to book indoor swimming and managed to book each day for the time we wanted. Everywhere was clean and well looked after. Our pitch was perfect - so much room and on the end of the row near the facilities. The kids entertainment was great, they loved meeting George the Dinosaur. Highlights were cycling down hills, the inflatable assault course in the pool, the indoor slide (we think the 5 year old went down over 100 times), the swallow nest with baby birds above the shower door and a fossil found in a stone on the wall! What more could two little boys want? The shop was well stocked and reasonably priced, the pizza and cheesy chips lunch we had on the terrace in the sun was a good price, and the beer was good!
