About the site
Fineshade Wood Campsite is set on the edge of a deep, dappled wood in Northamptonshire. A quiet, back-to-nature escape with 82 pitches, within one of England's most historically rich landscapes. This woodland - with its mix of ancient trees - was once part of Rockingham Forest. A royal hunting ground for William the Conqueror, who claimed it as his own after the Norman Conquest of 1066. For centuries, kings and nobles rode through these trees. Today, the woodland welcomes everyone. Tucked between Stamford and Corby on the A43, Fineshade Wood is considered a hidden gem by those who know it - and the reason we love sharing it with those who don't. In April 2026, Fineshade Wood Campsite proudly reopened as a fully operated campsite under the Forestry England banner, in partnership with Camping New Forest Ltd. Our friendly onsite wardens are here every day, keeping the site clean, tidy and well maintained, allocating pitches, looking after the facilities, and making sure every visitor feels genuinely welcome from the moment they arrive.
Fineshade Wood Campsite's season normally runs from April until October. Sign up to alerts and we'll let you know when bookings re-open.
