About the site

Just off the A76, this adult only camping and touring site offers a peaceful getaway just five minutes from Dumfries and within 30 minutes of the M74. Enjoy views towards Galloway Forest Park, with a range of scenic walking and cycling routes easily accessible. Designed for a relaxing base, the site features a games room with a TV and riverside walks, making it a great escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There are four non electric grass pitches suitable for tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes, alongside four electric grass pitches with 16 amp hook ups. 15 hardstanding gravel pitches are also available with a 16 amp hook up and space for an awning, suitable for campervans, caravans and motorhomes. A selection of holiday homes are onsite too. The Solway Coast, with its sandy beaches and rugged cliffs, is less than 30 minutes away. Ideally situated between Carlisle and Glasgow, the site provides a great base for exploring the Scottish Borders, Northumberland and the Lake District. Up to two dogs are welcome per pitch. BBQs are permitted, provided they are raised off the grass. Open fires are prohibited.

Site rules and policies

* Check-in is from 12pm until 7pm. Check out is due before 11:30am.

* Guests under the age of 18 are not permitted at the site.

* Dogs must be kept on a lead and supervised at all times.

* BBQs must be raised off the ground. Open fires are prohibited.

* Quiet hours are between 11pm and 7am. No vehicle movement between 12pm and 6:30am.

* Only one car is to be parked by the pitch.

Things to do on site and in the Dumfries area

This site is an excellent base for exploring the great outdoors, with riverside walks directly from the park and views towards Galloway Forest Park, Britain's first Dark Sky Park. Just 30 minutes away, you will find plenty of hiking and cycling routes, along with opportunities to spot local wildlife, including red deer.

For more strolls, Threave Garden and Nature Reserve is a 30 minute drive away, while golfers can enjoy a round at Dumfries and County Golf Club, just ten minutes from the site.

History lovers are also well catered for, with several impressive castles within easy reach. Caerlaverock Castle and Drumlanrig Castle and Gardens are both within a 25 minute drive. Further afield, Carlisle Castle can be reached in around 50 minutes.
