Glamping - Airstream Ensuite CaravanMay 2026

Stayed in the airstream caravan, beautifully set out, lovely peaceful location, enjoyed meeting the pigs for a bit off fuss and the cats for some snuggles and extra company. Nice and easy to pop to bude or okehampton from the site. Would definitely book again

Glamping - Forest Glamp BusNov 2025

Wonderful and unique. The bus was so much fun, great decor and wonderful surroundings. So close to Dartmoor, great location. Only feedback was that the lighting could be better - quite hard to see in the bus at night.

Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's HutJun 2025

✨🛖 Shepherd's hut mini stay 🌲🍄 at Hideaway Camping. The fairy-tale hideaway we needed and loved ❤️ When we booked this stay, we had all sorts of ideas about how we wanted to spend our time here. We knew we wanted a peaceful night but my damn, did our nervous system need this stay. We arrived and met Amy who was very welcoming and showed us our little stay. Jabba the hut 🤭 It felt like you were walking into a fairy-tale home and the small space was perfect for what me and Andrew like. The birds were singing away and surrounded by woodland with no other noise, apart from the odd cow. It was quiet. We got settled, made a cuppa and walked around the grounds. I have never been to such a well put together campsite. They have thought of everything. A woodland bursting with life, not too controlled but accessible for the family. A beautiful river with a hammock area, a fairyland for the kids to play with lots of huts to let their imagination run wild. A peaceful mini stone henge with a fire pit, an amazing space for camping with separate pitches giving each person privacy. A gorgeous, shared kitchen and chill space with enough games to keep kids entertained for weeks. The most royal bathrooms and showers. In every corner of this place, we couldn't believe how well it worked and how much they had thought of everything. Then came the rain 🌧️ except, it made it better. We have spent the last 5 months continuously doing something but tonight we were doing nothing. We spent a few hours eating and reading, but we kept finding ourselves staring out the window, listening to the birds and the rain on the roof, and we would both just sigh. I could feel my system slowing, and the bed was calling me, so we both huddled into bed, opened the window and felt the breeze blow through the hut. We had our books on our laps, and we didn't read a single page. We laid in each other's arms and fell asleep. We obviously needed it and I don't regret a single minute. We woke up to the sunlight flooding through the window, enjoyed a coffee and read our books listening to the birds and watching the rest of nature wake up. It was bliss. ❤️ We will most certainly be back ❤️

Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's HutDec 2024

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, lived up to the expectations in every way. The furnishings inside the hut make life easy, and there'd clear attention to detail in what's included. Clean and tidy throughout and well maintained. The site itself is what you'd expect, but with some extra love and attention in areas, such as the stream. It's a cute walk, but the chicken wire and little statues along the route demonstrate a level of effort that was very well received. The facilities were great as well. Showers hot, communal area has everything you'd need for kids, fridge and microwave, and there's a couple of cats running around that loved snuggles. The welcome packs are a very nice addition and give you some good ideas about what to do in town, and I made full use of the maps and binoculars provided. Value for money was good and I really enjoyed the vibe. Staff were helpful and I can't fault the service in any way. 5 stars all around and well deserved. Thanks for a peaceful stay.

Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's HutNov 2023

Went here in late November with my boyfriend to celebrate his graduation and get away for a little bit. We only stayed for two nights but they were absolute bliss! We were a bit apprehensive about the cold but the hosts provided plenty of extra blankets, a big heater and even offered us wellies because of the mud! The shared facilities were really well kept and the fridge provided was a lifesaver. The site also isn't too far from Okehampton (about a 15 minute drive) which was handy and has plenty of lush places to eat and things to do, especially when it got dark so we couldn't be walking around Dartmoor anymore. The only downside we found was how quickly the sun set each day, so we will definitely have to visit again in the summer when we can have full days to explore!!

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

The site was easy to find and get to, although the dirt road getting to the site needs a lot of work done to it to improve the last or first bit of driving. I did get a flat tyre because of the pot holes and sharp rocks. That is my only negative thing to say about this campsite. There is plenty of space for a lot of people. It has a big stone circle in the middle of one field which you can have a big bonfire in.
