Cracking place

If I could give 6 stars I would. Location next to the canal was amazing. Everything spotless. The man was busy mowing grass, cleaning toilet areas. I even requested a quite spot, which he found for me, without a question. We will be back We will be back

Lovely site

Easy to find off M6. Lovely clean site. Next to canal so lovely for a walk or bike ride. Pub over the road serves lovely food.

Fantastic little site

Brilliant, nothing really to be improved upon. Site is quiet and pitches are almost flat with gravel so easy to use ramps even when wet. Facilities are clean and modern, even having wash tablets to hand by the washing machine and drier.

Fabulous

Gorgeous little site, perfect to start our lakes trip. Lovely friendly hosts, good pitches with close water supply and electric hook up. Fabulous facilities, hot multi head showers with anti steam heated mirrors and hairdryer. Separate toilets all spotless and smell lovely. Canal and river walk just across the road, our dog was in disgrace though after jumping in 3 times! Pub across the road but we didn't visit. Slightly road noise from M6 but only a low buzz, highly recommend.

Perfect

Lovely little site. Really well kept with great facilities. Shower blocks were immaculate, really private and modern. Great pub 2 minutes away and the ice cream van came round! What more can you want!

2 night stop over on the way to Scotland

Stopped at little acre for 2 nights on my way up to Scotland and 1 night on my way back and can honestly say it was one of the friendliest sites we have stopped at, Paul was very accommodating with our pitch requirements due to a nervous dog and gave us the quietist pitch on the site for both our visits also the site was quiet, clean and tidy and can honestly say that the toilet and shower facilities we used on the side of park that had the tent pitches wouldn’t look out of place in a top hotel. Would highly recommend and we will be back in the future.

Extremely lovely site

Very, very pleasant stay here. This site is extremely clean, the guy who booked us in was so polite and helpful. The facilities were unbelievably clean and modern. Very well kept site, probably the nicest site we've every stayed on. So glad we found it.

Little Acre, little gem

Just stopped for one night on our way home from Scotland but this nice little site. Is nicely laid out and the new facilities block is of a very high standard with lots of little touches, like shower gel and shampoo. It's a shame it only has 2 showers and 3 toilets, so could be busy when site is full but understand that these things cost, so if it is busy, it's worth the wait. Location to local pub and Lancaster Canal path are very close. The pub is also excellent, again, fully recommend and the canal path is nice and quiet through lovely countryside.

Great site

This is a well run and managed site. Very friendly owners who ensured we knew where everything was. I only stopped for one night but will certainly return in the future. Highly recommend this location whether you are stopping over whilst travelling on the M6 or wishing to visit the area.

Lovely to be back again

This is perfect for a stopover or even a few days. We have stayed here twice now and the place is impeccable. Paul (owner) is fabulous and sorts out any problems you have. He visits every camper when they come to his site. See you next time Paul, thanks for a lovely, quiet night xx

Great little campsite

Great stopping off point for us on way to Scotland from Worcestershire. Nice facilities. Good location, level pitches. Warden/owner couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. Think we will use this place regularly.

Charming

Beautiful little campsite. Very peaceful and an ideal location for us as a half way stopover before heading to Scotland. Very clean and all amenities were spotless.

This is without doubt one of the best touring sites we have ever stayed on, everything is positive and no negatives to report. Lovely grounds

Lovely site with lovely staff. Beautifully manicured grass and great pitches. Lovely pub/restaurant just across the road which is a big bonus. I would only have an issue with the cleanliness of the toilets. The showers were clean and each shower was in its own room, but the toilets did need a more regular and thorough clean. My only complaint about a great site.

A great little site

A great little site, which is well placed for exploring the surrounding area. This site is in an ideal position for exploring the South Lakes and The Yorkshire Dales. It is about five minutes from the Junction 36 of the M6 motorway, making it easy to find and very convenient when towing a caravan. The people who run the site are really friendly and helpful. There are two different amenity blocks. One is lovely and has very modern showers, toilets, washing up and laundry facilities. The other is much older, but was still always clean. There are also extra touches, for example, they provide washing-up liquid, laundry tablets, nail files, shampoo etc. Most of the pitches were flat. However, ours was on a hill, so it made it challenging when trying to pitch our caravan, without a motor mover! There is a constant background noise from the M6 motorway, but after the first night, we hardly noticed it. We had lovely walks along the canal, which is just outside the site. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding area and it was around 20-30 minute drive to both south lakes and Yorkshire Dales. We found it very convenient with lots to explore for our overall 4 night stay. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Excellent would highly recommend

This site is a perfect base for exploring nearby attractions. The owner Paul, is friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. The site is kept in beautiful condition. The toilet and shower facilities are immaculate Would defo come back. Have not seen any children, which for me personally is nice. Lots of dogs though, which again for me is nice.

We get very few children staying with us and from Aug 2025 the youngest age for someone staying with us is 13. From March 2026 onwards we will will be completely adult (age 13+) only. Yes, we are very dog friendly and having the Lancaster Canal towpath by our entrance and a good quality dog friendly pub 200 yards away, our 4 legged friends are very welcome. Paul

Great break away!

Such a lovely site, lovely friendly owner. showers are perfect , feel really clean after visiting the shower block when usually on campsites I feel like I need another shower after having one, sometimes. Great location, straight off the motorway and close to getting about. Would definitely visit again!

We loved the site, it was very quiet and peaceful. The facilities were very clean. The owner was very helpful. Lovely walks for our dogs. Visited the pub which was lovely. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely and well kept site

The site was really lovely, the facilities too. You couldn't ask for anymore. The site warden was very friendly and helpful. It was within easy access to the motorway, and to the lakes. The Crooklands hotel served lovely and well presented food, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I can't praise Little Acre highly enough, we really enjoyed our stay, and would definitely recommend it to everyone. Thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable.
