This is a little gem just off the M6 and a great place to stopover if you are travelling South like I was. The pitches are great, the toilet & showers were immaculate. They are unisex however it is an adult only site. Easy online booking with pitch no provided and Paul onsite to help with any additional info. There is a restaurant just across the road, I would suggest booking even on midweek days. Will definitely be staying again thanks 😊

Site's response

Hi Jane We get lots of people staying with us for a single night (& are very welcome to do so) as we're so handy off Junct 36 on the M6 and we have a goood dog friendly pub across the road from us and the Lancaster Canal on our our doorstep for stretching your legs. We have 2 facility blocks onsite - the "new one" which was closest to you and is Unisex, with lockable rooms and the "original block" which has seperate male and female facilities. This arrangement seems to work very well for everyone. Enjoy your touring and I'll see you next time. Paul

Beautiful site, so close to canal for walks and to the Crooklands hotel for drinks and food. The canal is ideal for wildlife-spotting, herons, swans, cygnets, ducks. The facilities are superb. The older toilet/shower block is spotlessly clean with lots of little touches like cotton wool, cotton buds and nail files. Very fragrant citrus hand lotion. The newer shower block is luxurious, the best shower I have had during our 18-day trip around Scotland and the Lake District.

Hi Catherine Thank you for the lovely review of your recent stay with us. It reads like you packed a lot into your time with us. Paul

If I could give 6 stars I would. Location next to the canal was amazing. Everything spotless. The man was busy mowing grass, cleaning toilet areas. I even requested a quite spot, which he found for me, without a question. We will be back.

Site's response

Hello Eric Thank you for the lovely review and I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay with us at Little Acre. Paul

A lovely site for a peaceful, relaxing time. The pitches were a good size and the facilities excellent. Washrooms were modern and clean. Separate shower rooms and toilets. Pot washing room with laundry was excellent too. Very friendly staff with great local information. Cross the road from the main gate and you can walk along the canal. Just down the lane is the Crooklands hotel, great for a drink and meal. Bus outside the hotel to nearby Kendal or Kirkby Lonsdale. We'll definitely be back. Thank you.

Site's response

Hello Mark Thank you for such a lovely review of your recent quiet and peaceful stay at Little Acre. I hope that you enjoy your future stay(s) just as much. Paul

Brilliant, nothing really to be improved upon. Site is quiet and pitches are almost flat with gravel so easy to use ramps even when wet. Facilities are clean and modern, even having wash tablets to hand by the washing machine and drier.

Site's response

Hi Andrew That's a lovely review of your recent time at Little Acre - thank you very much. Paul p.s. whilst we're closed this Winter, we're giving the Ladies facilities a complete refurbishment and adding washing up facilities to the block closest to the main entrance.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

Fantastic campsite only about a mile from Jct 36 of the M6. Toilets were immaculately clean at all times with shower gel and shampoo provided. Pitches were large and fairly level on the whole, ours had a bit of an incline but managed okay. Local pub across the road and only 10 min drive to Kendal. Owners were welcoming helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Site's response

Hi Steve Thank you for staying with us and I'm glad that you enjoyed your time at Little Acre. Enjoy your travels and I hope that we'll host you again. Paul & Sarah

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

Gorgeous little site, perfect to start our lakes trip. Lovely friendly hosts, good pitches with close water supply and electric hook up. Fabulous facilities, hot multi head showers with anti steam heated mirrors and hairdryer. Separate toilets all spotless and smell lovely. Canal and river walk just across the road, our dog was in disgrace though after jumping in 3 times! Pub across the road but we didn't visit. Slightly road noise from M6 but only a low buzz, highly recommend.

Site's response

Hi Louise Thank you for starting your Bank Holiday lakes trip with us and thank you for recommending us on campsites.co.uk. Don't be to ruff on your dog going into the adjacent Lancaster Canal. Sandie my cocker spaniel is in it constantly and we joke that she washed with Canal number 5. Paul

2 night stop over on the way to Scotland

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

Stopped at Little Acre for 2 nights on my way up to Scotland and 1 night on my way back and can honestly say it was one of the friendliest sites we have stopped at. Paul was very accommodating with our pitch requirements due to a nervous dog and gave us the quietist pitch on the site for both our visits also the site was quiet, clean and tidy and can honestly say that the toilet and shower facilities we used on the side of park that had the tent pitches wouldn't look out of place in a top hotel. Would highly recommend and we will be back in the future.

Site's response

Hi Scott Thank you for becoming a returning customer in record time! It wasn't a problem at all accommodating your nervous pooch and I 'm glad that you all had a peaceful time at Little Acre. Paul

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Small PitchAug 2025

Just stopped for one night on our way home from Scotland but this nice little site. Is nicely laid out and the new facilities block is of a very high standard with lots of little touches, like shower gel and shampoo. It's a shame it only has 2 showers and 3 toilets, so could be busy when site is full but understand that these things cost, so if it is busy, it's worth the wait. Location to local pub and Lancaster Canal path are very close. The pub is also excellent, again, fully recommend and the canal path is nice and quiet through lovely countryside.

Site's response

Thank you for staying with us recently Andy, and we'd love to host you again. As well as the shower and loo block that you used, we also have another similar sized one on site, so that even when we're at 100% capacity, there are always facilities to use. Enjoy your travels Paul

This is a well run and managed site. Very friendly owners who ensured we knew where everything was. I only stopped for one night but will certainly return in the future. Highly recommend this location whether you are stopping over whilst travelling on the M6 or wishing to visit the area.

This is perfect for a stopover or even a few days. We have stayed here twice now and the place is impeccable. Paul (owner) is fabulous and sorts out any problems you have. He visits every camper when they come to his site. See you next time Paul, thanks for a lovely, quiet night xx

This is without doubt one of the best touring sites we have ever stayed on, everything is positive and no negatives to report. The owners are friendly, welcoming and informative, the facilities are second to none and we would have no hesitation in visiting again and recommending. Thank you for a great stay.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

Lovely site with lovely staff. Beautifully manicured grass and great pitches. Lovely pub/restaurant just across the road which is a big bonus. I would only have an issue with the cleanliness of the toilets. The showers were clean and each shower was in its own room. My only complaint about a great site.

Site's response

Hi Gary, thank you for staying with us recently and recommending us on Campsites.co.uk. I'm sorry that you didn't find our facilities to be as clean as you wanted them to be - they are deep cleaned on a very regular basis and have a "light touch" several times a day, but I appreciate your comment and it's something that I can increase - especially when I'm cutting the grass on a daily basis and the grass is easily moved around on peoples shoes! Paul.
