It's a great place. Our third visit here, we really enjoy it and the kids love it. Perfect location to get to other places. It was very busy, so think it was a bit harder for the site to keep up with cleaning everything enough, but other than that great. We will be visiting again.

Stayed just 3 nights as a family of 5 - 2 adults and 3 children aged 12, 6 and 4. Although the location was great for quick journeys to and from Filey and the beach, the campsite really let everything down. We were put onto the overflow field which was totally understandable, having booked last minute over a bank holiday weekend, but it was way too overcrowded. People were pitching their tents practically on top of ours, which wasn't ideal. The portable toilets on the overflow field were filthy and overflowing. To use a half decent toilet was a fair walk especially with young children in tow. The main shower blocks were right at the top of the site - again a crazy walking distance for people with young children or the elderly. We only used the family shower room once, which was dirty. The floor area flooding because of no proper drainage system within the shower area 🤢 The only good things were the on-site indoor pool and the quaint bar. Having a chippy on site was an added bonus, but would still prefer decent wash facilities over these things. Did we still have a good time? Yes, but would we return? Unfortunately not. Maybe just invest some money into more toilets and shower facilities for the lower field and it would be a much more comfortable stay for all.

We loved this park. Such a fantastic location, good facilities. Cleaner was around from 6am (maybe earlier but that was when I saw them!) right through until the evening, mopping and cleaning the toilet block. Fantastic playground. Swimming pool is a bit tired but at £3, the kids were very happy and had fun. We had such an amazing weekend. Will definitely be back.
Good location, dreadful neighbours!

The location is fantastic, with a lovely coastal route starting from the park. We were in the overflow field and it was very busy over the bank holiday. The portable loos were not cleaned enough and were blocked most of the time. It was disgusting. The site's main toilet blocks are quite a walk away, and there were insufficient showers. We heard so many crazy, drunken arguments in other tents that it left like being on a reality TV show. There was no consideration for other campers in the evening, and some guests had loud music or screamed at each other until 3am. The swearing was intolerable at times, especially with so many kids around. There needs to be stricter rules about when to be quiet and these need to be enforced. It was a shame as the location was great, but we would never go back.

No layout, 5 dirty portaloos, overflowing bins. On arrival, the receptionist at the main caravan park directed us to the camping field and said park anywhere. It was reminiscent of a festival field full of tents, with no obvious layout. People were pitching up without any regard for getting cars out. I felt the 5 portaloos provided for all the people on the field were inadequate, ran out of water and didn't flush. The only way we could wash was by using the 3 showers on the caravan park, one of which was ice cold water only. We queued along with the caravanners. On leaving day, the bins were overflowing so people were just leaving rubbish everywhere. Absolutely dreadful experience for us. We've stayed at sites which had more pleasant and well maintained facilities. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend the site to anyone.
What more could we ask for?

This park was a little gem. It had a gorgeous view of Scarborough in the evening, although situated closer to Filey (10 minutes to Filey, 20 minutes to Scarborough). We pitched a tent and the other campers were friendly. The toilet block isn't far and includes a pot wash station. Great for families! We were just a couple but you could see kids enjoyed themselves. Dogs almost seemed compulsory, again we didn't have a dog but they were well accommodated also. Would definitely stay again.

The stay was brilliant and relaxing. The only thing we thought was some sort of dog minding service so people with dogs use more facilities and be able to swim. Would've also liked to go to the circus nearby the camp and couldn't. Think this an excellent site for all.

Great campsite. No shelter from the wind but wouldn't put us off going again. Clean showers & toilets. Park was great for kids & swimming pool was also good for £3 each.
Good stay for the price

The park was good for the price we paid. There was an abandoned tent next to us that was there for 2 nights before it was moved. It took up a very large pitch. The staff didn't seem to be checking tickets around the site. The toilets were okay; showers were quite dirty and we kept our shoes on, one shower flooded due to a blocked plug. Sanitary bins were all full. I feel as though the staff were all very young and their customer service skills could be improved. Entertainment was good. Arcade needs upgrading, most the machines didn't work. The pool was great.
Wouldn't stay here again

Good location for Filey and Scarborough and nice view over the fields. Good shop on site selling food etc for anything you've forgotten. We booked late, so booked in the overflow field which had no facilities other than 4 portaloos, which we were aware of. The nearest toilet block had 3 toilets and 3 showers which were near the caravans. The toilets were really dirty. I couldn't tell if they'd been cleaned from Saturday to Sunday. I saw the portaloos being cleaned once on a morning but it wasn't enough. The smell was was really bad from the drains when the showers were turned on and there were long queues for showers in the morning. There was a lot of rubbish everywhere as the bins hadn't been emptied. The noise on the campsite meant we had very little sleep on Saturday night. Not surprising, bearing in mind some campers had been drinking cans of cider from the morning. There were also cars racing up and down the road at break neck speeds during the evening which was terrifying, bearing in mind there were lots of children staying on the site. If you want a party, this is the campsite for you!

Crows Nest was situated perfectly for us to visit different places around, like Scarborough, Filey Bay and just under a hour to Whitby. Kids loved the pool, park and entertainment. We had a lovely coastal walk at night with wonderful views.

We had a lush stay in our tent overlooking the sea and the beautiful countryside. The facilities are perfect and you wouldn't need to leave if you wanted a relaxing break! Plenty to see close by if you wanted to venture out for the day. The site store is reasonably priced, and it also has a bar, pool and fish & chip takeaway! We will definitely return!

Just returned from Crows Nest today after staying for 2 nights. I'm not a seasoned professional camper so I don't have much to compare to, but I found our stay to be fantastic. We went with friends - 6 adults and 5 children in total. The park was easy to find and very quiet when we arrived on Sunday morning. Pitches up in the middle of the main field with close enough to access the toilets and kids park, but far enough away to not be disturbed by other making their way over to those areas I found the shower and toilets acceptably clean. We did go to the shop several times and used the chip shop. I was expecting these to be expensive as normally on site facilities can be, but they was both very reasonable priced. I would recommend Crows Nest to others and would not think twice about attending again.
Amazing!

Great value for money and plenty to do. Scarborough was just a 10-15 minute drive away. Facilities are close to the camping fields and dog friendly!

This campsite is a bit of a mixed bag for me. I'm not sure if we'd stay again, though if we did, we wouldn't stay on the overflow field. We were camping, but I also think the chalets or a caravan would have possibly been a better experience. We only stayed for 2 nights as I wouldn't have wanted to camp for a week. On the plus side, it was a fantastic location with easy access to Scarborough and Filey, the onsite fish and chips were amazing and the lady who welcomed us at reception was lovely. The shop was really useful and there was a busy bar with entertainment which looked like it had a good atmosphere, although we didn't visit the bar ourselves. However there just weren't enough facilities to cater for the overflow fields. I thought they were very busy and the portaloos were grubby, I couldn't bring myself to use them after the first couple of times. The closest shower block could have been a lot cleaner too and the shower cubicles were really small, so difficult with kids, especially in the wet weather when you're trying to keep dry clothes dry and organise everything etc. On other sites I've been on, the cleaning is often stepped up during wet weather with a squeegee to keep the floors nice and clean and usually cleaned ready for people waking up in the morning. This didn't seem to be the case here, the floors were sodden and muddy with soggy loo roll everywhere and overflowing bins. The pool was chaos, not that clean and with far too much chlorine. The lifeguards were young and bored. The laundry and best shower block were miles away at the top of the site. I think overall, it would benefit from the overflow fields being made into proper pitches with an additional shower block/laundry and pot washing. This would also make it safer as there was some really crazy driving and random tent pitching.

We stayed on the large fully serviced pitch which came with your own tap and drain which was useful for our motorhome. Although where we were was great, we were fairly close to the top field for tents which just seemed like a free for all, pitch wherever you want! There were some noisy guests playing loud music but after 11pm, the site rules were adhered to. There was a great dog walking field which was fenced in but as a dog owner, I was dismayed to find lots of dog mess around the site. Although there were lots of bins around for people to pick up and put in. My biggest gripe again was other dog owners who thought it was ok for them to let their dogs bark freely for long periods of time. This was hugely annoying when all you want to do is sit and have some peace and quiet next to your van. Not the park owners fault though. Bins were emptied regularly and good sized facilities for showers, toilets etc. My husband was happy to report that it was the cleanest Elson he had ever used! I don't think that I would return to Crows Nest as too busy for us but we still had a lovely stay here.

The campsite has lots to offer and the facilities from pot washing to showers on the top campsite are very good. The entertainment did drag on to quite late (after 10.30pm) on Friday and Saturday, which carries around the site. Placed very close to Clayton Bay (dog-friendly year round) and you can take the two-mile walk across the cliff tops. A campsite used by plenty of families.

I took my 7 year old son on my own as his first camping trip - some what new to it myself. The location of the campsite was great, a 20 minute drive into Scarborough and a local petrol station down the road to get cash. The campsite itself was ok. We were in the overflow field which had very little choice of flat ground and a lot of people were on hills you would just rather not be on. The toilets were a short walk away and had three shower cubicles in them. They could definitely have been cleaner or updated. The site does have an onside pool with three small kids slides which was great for killing time at those awkward points in the day. The pool itself was great, the changing rooms and showers were just ok and the female toilet in the changing rooms wasn't clean. It had a rusty bolt to lock it and the door opened pretty much onto the toilet. The shop was great it had everything you needed and not too expensive, the staff inside were great and even offered to pump up a ball my son chose without the need to be asked, they were knowledgeable on the area and where to go which is great for people who haven't been before. I probably wouldn't go back to this site purely because the facilities you need to use to be hygienic, weren't very hygienic. Even though we camped, I also noted that the toilets we used were surrounded by caravans, so I'd be wary if you intend on taking a caravan in case you end up parked next to the toilets with campers walking past all hours of the day.

The toilets and showers were not very clean, and there was no place to put garbage next to the sink, and there was always food left in the sinks.
