Tinhay Retreats is a small countryside campsite on a smallholding on the Devon/Cornwall border, a few miles from the A30. A sheltered, peaceful site, for relaxing & space to explore & play. 20 minute drive from the Dartmoor National Park. There are both small and large electric grass pitches plus there's a communal fire pit! Take part in one of the onsite craft sessions or learn how to bake bread! Feed the sheep & meet the friendly campsite cat.

About the site
This picturesque rural campsite is a lovely choice for families or couples looking to escape everyday life, set close to the River Thrushel and Tinhay Lake. Fishing permits can be purchased from the Arundell Hotel in the village of Lifton, which is 15 mins walking distance. There are ten tent grass pitches and five caravan/motorhome grass pitches. The small pitches allow tents only and the large pitches allow larger tents, caravans, motorhomes, campervans and rooftop tents. The campsite is level and all grass. There are no separations between the pitches. Enjoy a campfire in the communal fire pit and have a BBQ. Perhaps you'd like to meet and feed the resident sheep or give the campsite cat cuddles. Homemade jam and honey is available to buy as are eggs when the hens are laying! Explore the surrounding countryside, walk along the lane to see the famous "Nearly There" trees or visit the Dartmoor National Park just 20 minutes away, don't forget to say hello to the famous free-roaming Dartmoor ponies! The coast is just half an hour's drive away and is great for a day's outing or for a gentle evening stroll. The historic towns of Okehampton, Launceston and Tavistock are all within a 20 minute drive. There is very little light pollution here and so stargazing on a clear night is a treat. Just remember to wrap up warm! Dogs are welcome onsite, just please keep them on the lead in the areas requested. Fire pits are allowed, provided they are raised off the grass, and firewood is available onsite.
