Things to do on site and in the Berwick-Upon-Tweed area

Being on the Northumberland coast, there is the opportunity to explore the nearby islands. The site is located a ten minute drive from Holy Island, where you can explore the Lindisfarne Castle. This is accessed by a tidal causeway (do read the tide timetables situated at both ends of the causeway for your safety) and you can often be the only person on its many miles of beaches.

Another island to visit is Farne Island, home to a large colony of Atlantic Seals and stunning puffins. Drive 25 minutes to Seashouses and hop a boat to have a tour around the waters. Some tours allow for a short stop on the island to visit local structures and wildlife.

A 20 minute journey to the south lies Bamburgh Castle, explore the fortress and see historic artefacts, a great day out for all the family.

Other local activities include:

  • Andy Howeys Birds of Prey Centre (10 minutes)
  • Goswick Beach (15 minutes)
  • National Trust - St. Cuthbert's Cave (15 minutes)
  • Berwick-upon-Tweed (15 minutes)
  • Bamburgh Castle (20 minutes)
  • Northumberland National Park (25 minutes)
