Castle Point Caravan and Camping Site is a family friendly, coastal site with sea views, 15 minutes from Dalbeattie. The site offers electric grass pitches for tents, trailer tents, campervans and caravans, as well as electric hardstanding motorhome pitches. Enjoy the use of the onsite laundry facilities, kids' play area and bike storage or head out to some of the many nearby beaches, Rockcliffe or Sandyhills (5 minutes). Dogs are welcome.

About the site

This coastal site with sea views is ideal for families looking to explore Solway Coast and its many beaches. Less than a five minute walk to the beach where you can go crabbing when the tide is low, and lots of walks over the cliff tops via the Jubilee Path to Kippford Village (10 minute drive) and beyond. The site offers 5 grass 8m x 6m pitches with 16 amp electric hook ups suitable for tents and roof tents only. There are 25 grass 8m x 6m pitches with 16 amp electric hook ups suitable for tents, trailer tents and campervans. There are 20 hardstanding 8m x 6m pitches for caravans, campervans and motorhomes with a grass area and 16 amp electric hook ups. A great location for avid mountain bikers with two 7stanes routes nearby, 7Stanes: Dalbeattie just ten minutes away and 7stanes: Mabie Forest 30 minutes away. After a day of being in the elements, you can safely store your bike at the onsite bike storage and let your gear dry off in the drying room! Keep the kids entertained onsite with the play area with swings, an agility square, a football pitch and an indoor table tennis table. Dogs are welcome to join you during your stay. BBQs are allowed. Campfires are not permitted onsite.

Site facilities include two toilet blocks as well as an accessible toilet and shower room. There is also use of laundry facilities, a dryer and washing up areas as well as a drying cabinet for clothes. WiFi access is available in the hotspot area, electric vehicle charging and bike storage is available onsite. There is a play area that has swings, an agility frame, a football area and table tennis.

The Glenisle Inn is a 20 minutes drive from the site, serving food and drink and open every day. For the essentials, there is a Londis, a 35 minute walk away or five minute drive away.

We want you to enjoy your holiday, trouble free, peacefully and in a relaxed atmosphere. This is a family owned site situated in a farm and has had campers and touring caravans since before WWII.

Yes, up to two dogs are permitted per pitch for a small fee. Please ensure dogs are kept on the lead at all times and not left unattended. Breeds and crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted, sorry.
BBQs and campfires are permitted as long as they are raised off of the ground.
Awnings, gazebos and pup tents are permitted for an additional charge. Please ensure that you select this option when booking.
The site allows up to three pitches to be booked together, sorry the site does not permit any larger groups.

There isn't a shop onsite, but there is a Londis within a five minute drive, or a 35 minute walk. Or, for a wider variety there is a Tesco Superstore a 20 minute drive from the campsite.

Things to do on site and in the Dalbeattie area

The 7stanes: Dalbeattie mountain biking trail is situated within a ten minute drive by road from the site. .

There are also a number of walks from the site, taking you over the cliffs onto Glenstocken Cove and beyond to Sandyhills (5 minutes). Stroll along the Jubilee Path en route to Kippford Village (10 minutes) and relax with a drink at the harbour.

The choices are endless for beach trips too, with the nearest beaches a short walk from the site, less than five minutes away. The beach at Rockcliffe (5 minutes) is ideal for young children, and the beach at Castle Point is great for crabbing when the tide is low (5 minute walk).

There are plenty of local fisheries, including Greenhill Fishery (10 minutes) and sea fishing opportunities such as Balcary Point (30 minutes) and Rascarrel Bay (30 minutes), where you can relax on the shore waiting for a bite or hop a boat and try your luck on the water.
