A lovely weekend in a beautiful location Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Jan 2026 We arrived Friday lunchtime, parked our motorhome, hooked up to the electric and went into the pub. We received a very warm welcome from the bar staff and regulars. After a very reasonably priced pint and a half 😀
We went on the orchard walk. They've done a fantastic job setting up the information boards and signposting the two different routes. The walk takes in amazing views and there's an abundance of wildlife. We spotted several rabbits and a barn owl as well as lots of sheep and various types of birds. We finished off back in the pub and were given several different cider samples, eventually deciding on one 👌
On Saturday we took the bus into Ross on Wye. The bus stops outside the village shop/Post Office which is only a few yards from the Yew Tree.
We had planned to eat out on Sunday. Unfortunately, the Yew Tree don't serve food on Sundays but they did recommend the Red Lion pub which is only a 15 minute walk up the main road. We ate there yesterday afternoon. The food was lovely and there was live music which was great, but the drinks were much more expensive than the Yew Tree!
Well situated Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Dec 2025 Only two showers and three toilets, but only a very small site. The pub was lovely, only served pizza but the cider was very good.
2 night stay Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Nov 2025 Had a lovely 2 night stay at the Yew Tree Inn. First night had cider and pizza in the pub which was delicious. Friendly, helpful staff at the pub. Great atmosphere.
Used the bus service just outside into Ross on Wye. Enjoyed a walk around the charity shops in Ross. Enjoyed the tea shops and the Welsh cakes.
A wet weekend near to Ross-on-Wye Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Nov 2025 The site was small, which we prefer, and pub on site was very nice. We walked the orchard way to Broome Farm. Had a meal at Yew Tree Inn.
The site is within walking distance to Ross-on-Wye. Unfortunately, it was dark on our return so we walked along the pavement on main road, but they were altering pavement and it was dangerous!
We wanted another meal at the Inn on Sunday night but no meals are served Sundays, and they only do pizzas and chips which were really nice. The look of the site is spoiled by the old caravans, a bit off-putting. The toilets and showers were immaculate and also really warm.
We had plenty of room for our awning and site was very quiet. We arrived on a very bad day, windy and heavy rain, but fortunately it got a lot better. We would go there again as the price is good.
Great stay! Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Nov 2025 Campsite was easy to find and in a great location to exactly what we needed!
We'd been recommended it by family and will stay again. Facilities was clean and tidy and not far from your van.
The pub was nice and cosy with welcoming staff. They do food every night other than Wednesdays, but bar snacks were available. Thank you!
Tidy spot Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitch (No Awnings) Nov 2025 Booked last minute and was a great convenient place to stay. Clean bathrooms with excellent showers, and all facilities you would need.
The pub next door was shut the night I was there, so can't comment on that or what it would be like if that was open, but overall had a nice night.
Great short stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Oct 2025 Had a brief overnight stay at the Yew Tree Inn, but will definitely be back.
The location is great, everyone in the pub was really friendly and we managed to turn up on the only Wednesday when the pizza ovens are fired up for quiz night, so a definite bonus.
Great food and facilities.
Lovely site for a weekend away Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Oct 2025 This is a great little site for a weekend away with nice country side walks for the dog and a lovely pub that has great pizza and chips. The staff were really helpful and lent us a power lead when it turned out ours had given up on us.
There's a shop just down the road if you need anything so all in all a great place to stay.
Close to Ross on Wye Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Oct 2025 Close to Ross on Wye and in the grounds of the pub. Very welcoming staff.
Great, clean facilities. Pub food and drink was good.
