Large Tent - XL Premium Electric Grass PitchesApr 2026

Amazing site, a lovely warm welcome when we arrived, great clean and tidy site with everything you need for a perfect stay. Lots for the kids to do and explore around the site and facilities were spot on. Large spacious pitches with tall manicured hedges for a little privacy makes it feel like your own little private oasis all to yourself. We would 100% recommend and will definitely be back with our camping crew.

Twin Axle Caravan - XL Electric Grass PitchesDec 2025

Such an amazing campsite, very clean and tidy. Lovely showers, best campsite showers I've been to! Friendly and helpful staff, nothing is too much. Only downside is other than the zoo there's not much around to do in the area for kids, but that's not a reflection on the campsite at all just location. Thank you for an amazing stay. We will return in future!

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesOct 2025

Quiet, very pleasant site with convenient facilities nearby. For our first night with our California we choose Applewood at the last minute as it was just one hour drive. Nice welcome and actually a bonus upgrade FOC to a hardstanding! Very clean toilets and grounds with beautiful autumn colours from the numerous trees. A short 5 minutes walk to a shop, a nice and slightly eccentric pub called the Barrel with excellent beer. Chippy was excellent but the gem is the Butchers ... wow, well worth a visit and the breakfast bacon rolls are marvellous! Discovered a gas leak (very strong smell) connecting our cylinder, so no cooking on first trip. Bonus - it has one of the best zoo's next door, so Sunday morning visit made the weekend. Plus a discount for staying at Applewood - need we say anymore. Overall a great weekend had by all.

Site's response

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback following your stay at Applewood. We're delighted to hear that your first night with your California was such a positive experience and that our site provided a peaceful and pleasant setting for your weekend. We're glad you had the chance to explore the local area — the Barrel pub, the chippy, and especially the butcher's breakfast bacon rolls sound like they made quite the impression! It's great that you were able to visit the nearby zoo and take advantage of the discount — it's certainly a favourite among many of our guests and a perfect way to round off a relaxing weekend. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back to Applewood again soon. Warm regards, The Applewood Team🍏🌳
