Stunning location
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2023 Lovely site in a beautiful location. The site listed WiFi was available but this was only available near to reception and not in the field we camped in, which was disappointing and our autistic son was upset. I had cancelled a booking at a campsite because WiFi was not available and was careful to choose another that listed WiFi for our son.
Driving through the village of Birchover to the campsite was tricky towing a caravan; the village road was incredibly bumpy, and parked cars made it difficult to navigate driving uphill. The local bus just missed us on its way down the bendy road!
Good facilities Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2023 Great site, friendly staff and very clean. Only let down by noise from other campers until 0100 hrs. Fair to say they weren't out chatting till this time, but noise travels at night.
Nice campsite but noisy peacocks Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2023 We stayed here for two nights, the facilities were good and very clean. Lots for the kids to do. Lots of outdoor activities for kids, which was great.
The only reason we wouldn't stay here again was the peacocks who started at about 4am each morning and didn't really stop until about 8am.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2023 Great little site in a nice part of the UK. Two pubs within walking distance and good walks from the site. However Peacocks can get a little annoying at 5 in the morning😁
Perfect family staycation
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2023 Our first visit here, perfect location in the heart of the Peak District with beautiful scenery.
Lovely setting with helpful staff, lovely amenities and a brill on-site shop.
Cannot fault this place, kids want to come back next year- we would gladly oblige.

Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) May 2023 Amazing stay and couldn't have asked for anymore for my first camping experience.
The camp site was well maintained. The shower blocks were clean and no long queues. Loved the added benefit of the adults only block of showers. The toilets were always well stocked. It was bank holiday weekend so they had a whole host of activities and bands playing in the evening which made for a lovely atmosphere. Even though the campsite was full, everyone was very respectful and it was easy to get off to sleep in the evenings. The camp was located close to Bakewell and had lovely walks within a short distance. We also found a local wild water swimming spot.
Would 100% recommend and likely to come back!
Bank Holiday fun
Large Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) May 2023 We went on a very busy Bank Holiday weekend, and as we're new to camping, found it quite noisy. That's our fault, not the site! They had so many facilities, play areas and games for the kids and a fantastic live band each night. Like a mini festival. The man in reception was so helpful and even opened up the shop when we had forgotten a vital piece of our stove. Saw lots of cleaning and it felt well run and safe for little ones. Also peacocks in the trees, what more could you ask for!
Good facilities but overcrowded Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) May 2023 The campsite itself was pretty good but I felt that it was a bit overcrowded. There wasn't much space left in the field for the children to run around or to play a ball game. The entertainment provided in the evening was ok but a bit too loud for people who did not want to take part. However, all the facilities were very good and clean.

Large Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) May 2023 We return every year for our first camping trip of the season and it never disappoints. Fabulous campsite and they go above and beyond to provide family fun entertainment over the bank holiday weekend. Great location for local walks with young kids and dogs exploring Stanton moors. Great hot free showers and site shop always has everything you need. Although the fields are on a hill there are always flat enough areas to find to pitch up.

Large Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) May 2023 We were a group of 3 families that camped in the overflow field. Had a great weekend! Lots for the kids to do, felt very safe for them to have a wonder round. Facilities were great and always clean.
Bonus having some live music on and even better with the sun shining. Will definitely be back.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2023 Lovely little site - hadn't realised there was a mini bank holiday festival here when we booked but this was a bonus for us; didn't mind a bit of music etc but was obviously much busier than we expected, so a slightly different break than we were expecting.
Facilities clean and were being cleaned all the time - a little shop for essentials and a pool table and badminton for the teen!
The village is lovely, with a couple of nice pubs and the scenery is beautiful. Staff were friendly and even though the festival was on, the noise after 11 was minimal. No complains about the site!
Being a bank holiday, all the local towns were heaving and parking was a nightmare - wish we had looked into buses as spent far to long in the car!
An enjoyable stay all round.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2023 I have never enjoyed camping but my kids wanted to go, so we went with friends and I was really impressed. Showers are hot and clean, plenty of room to wash pots, toilets are well kept and always had loo roll.
The shop was useful and when we went there was live music on which really made it fun. There's plenty of easy walks from the site and 2 pubs just down the road

Peace and quiet
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2023 Not our first stay here, but such a marvellous location and with all the facilities you need! Be aware the (well stocked and good priced) shop doesn’t open on a Sunday, but otherwise it’s such a scenic place to rest and relax - and the local pub isn’t too far to walk either. Will be back again.
