Overall a lovely well maintained site. (splitting hairs shower heads seemed to be really wide spray bit awkward but usable and water was lovely and warm from the off 😀)

Superb site in a fabulous location. Lovely clean facilities. Really helpful staff on the reception. The site his handily placed for a walk to Ambleside or (a bit further away) Grasmere. The Badger Bar round the corner is worth a visit too.

Great little campsite, walk, run, swim or cycle, loads to do with in 5 minutes. The sound of a waterfall sent me right to sleep, best sleep I've had in ages. Ambleside 20 minute walk down a track, tap yard, great food and own beer.
Great week

Fantastic in every way, the staff were all amazing, friendly and helpful, the facilities were spotless and very well catered for, the site itself is absolutely stunning, such a beautiful setting in nature. Rydal Hall and its gardens, surrounding countryside and nature trails were all utterly breath-taking. Its location was perfect to travel around the lake district from, with Rydal Cave and River Rothay just around the corner, buses every hour to take us to Helvellyn, public footpaths to Ambleside. My nephew and I both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will most certainly return later in the year. The only thing I would have liked to see, which was missing, was some wind sheltering around the campsite [campsite 2] we stayed at, but what do you expect in March? Can't complain at all, such an unforgettable experience made better by the lovely setting at Rydal Hall.

Price: 9/10 💷 Location: 10/10 🏕️ Toilets + showers: 9/10 🚿 Staff: 10/10 👩🏼💼 I came on a solo trip for one night and was very impressed! A beautiful site with lovely scenery. Location was spot on. A really easy 30 minute walk to Ambleside straight from the site. An 8 minute drive to Grasmere and a bus stop can be found very close to the site. The Hall and the grounds are absolutely stunning and should definitely be explored. The toilet and shower facilities were very clean and spacious. There's a bar a short walk from the site called the Badger Bar, which serve nice food at a good price. Overall, an excellent stay and I will definitely be coming back!

I was booked in for a 2 night stay but had to leave early :-( The staff on arrival were friendly and welcoming, gave a good map and clear instructions on how to get to the camping areas and where the facilities are. The weather wasn't the best on the night as it raining pretty much all night (that's just part of camping in the lakes), But for how much it rained, the ground wasn't really sodden with puddles all over, must be some good drainage. The facilities are very clean and modern looking (possibly one of the cleanest newest looking sites facilities I have come across in the last couple of years). Located a shortish walk (took around 15 mins) from Ambleside along a pretty good track and roadside footpath (bring a torch for return walk in evening). The site does have a few footpaths going through and I saw many runners and walkers using, lots stopping to look at the waterfalls. The only downside (more to do with the camping area I was on) is that the waterfall, while amazing and lovely to look at, is a little loud when trying to sleep, so bring some earplugs if you are a light sleeper. I will be back, nice site, already told some friends about it who are now keen to visit.

Almost like wild camping, the pitches were in a wonderful wooded valley. The facilities were top class. There was a lovely café, with very interesting gardens and buildings, it was a short walk to the pub.

We really enjoyed our stay and staff were really friendly. I only dropped the review a star because we amended our booking 6 months in advance and found admin were not very flexible. It's a beautiful site, I'd recommend and come again. The site has thought through its eco values and delivers them well.

If you're looking for a quiet place to stay at a fraction of the cost - and like camping - I would suggest you try this place. Lovely location, not overcrowded and with the facilities you'd need (I don't go camping much). All kept spotless! I'll definitely book again.
Loved our stay!

So impressed by the campsite, the shower/toilet block were the cleanest we've ever had while camping! The grounds are beautiful, a waterfall running through the middle, feel totally secluded. We had coffees from the cafe in the morning, campfires in the evening. Staff were super friendly and helpful. It was also so close to so many different places, really easy to get to, we will definitely be coming back!!

We will definitely be returning to this site, the facility and grounds are exceptional, and is within walking distance of a very good pub. We used the bus service to Ambleside which was very easy to use. My only quibble is that you cannot chose your pitch, but other than that it was perfect.

This was hands down the best campsite we have been to. Although no electric hook up, the location was absolutely stunning. The hall grounds are breath-taking and the facilities are very clean. The Beaver pub on the doorstep was very friendly, with excellent food. Will be back, thank you.

The location was excellent in the grounds of the beautiful Rydal Hall. A spacious and quiet campsite with immaculately clean toilet block. Lovely walks from the campsite too. A highly recommend campsite. The only downside was that you may have to walk uphill from your car to your allotted pitch. The 2pm check-in time is strictly enforced.
A must-stay site!

Amazing views from the pitches, very clean bathrooms with everything you need, lots of things to explore in the gardens, great for all ages. Wonderful customer service and great pitches. Don't miss the art sculptures! Plenty of walks around the area and a great pub at the bottom. White Moss car park just down the road has a great swimming spot next to it and an easy walk up to Rydal caves. if you have time, make sure you explore up the Beck to Buckstones jump!
