Great for young families
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Jul 2026 We stayed as a family with three young children and I have to say, they all had a great time.
We arrived on a Saturday night and it was really busy. There was a live band, lots of people enjoying themselves, but it was not overwhelming. It was our first visit, so we didn't know what to expect.
I did wonder whether it would be loud into the night, but the site is so well run that, as they state in their rules, at 10:30, children are all in tents and vans and by 11pm, it's calm and peaceful.
The next couple of days, the site had emptied out significantly, so the children really enjoyed the pick of the playgrounds. The food was okay, somewhat overpriced for what you get, but no real complaints about it.
Location is great, feels very secluded once in, but really close to towns and supermarkets, so easy to pick up any missed items from home. Will definitely visit again.

Hidden gem
Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2026 Took a chance on this camp site as we wanted to visit the Heights of Abraham. Great for kids and adults. Entertainment was a bonus, play parks fab for kids of all ages. Will do return as my grandson had an amazing time camping, it was his first time too 😃
Underwhelming Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2026 Very disappointed with the site in general.
Staff were very pleasant. Fellow guests were extremely rowdy and non observant of site rules and continued making noise well into the early hours. There was no sign of anyone asking people to be quiet.
Showers and toilets are basic.
Hook up for electricity was excellent.
Not sure how they can charge as much as do for what's offered.

Camping Pod - Barrel Camping Pods Jul 2026 Booked a weekend in one of the barrel pods for me and my son .Everything was brilliant the staff are amazing,really friendly and helpful. The pod was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had breakfast and dinner from the cafe Really good bacon butties and burgers.Spent the days fishing and then a few beers sat outside the bar.All in all a perfect weekend thank you we had a fantastic weekend.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Jun 2026 Great site ,really happy with our weekend, my only negative would be having to join a que and wait 10-15 min to get back on site through the barrier due to new arrivals having to park up in front of entrance barrier whilst they book in thus blocking everyone else's entry. Otherwise fantastic, kids will love it .
Great for families
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2026 The campsite is in a great spot, and the staff were incredibly helpful. When we arrived, they took the time to suggest the absolute best and most suitable area for us to set up our tents together.
The playgrounds and on-site facilities were fantastic. The kids had a blast, and it kept them safely entertained throughout the day. Respectful campers: we really appreciated that everyone else staying at the campsite was quiet, respectful, and followed the evening rules.
Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the noise from the nearby roadside transport. While the campsite itself was perfectly quiet, the traffic noise echoing into the campground around midnight was incredibly loud and made it very difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Camping Pod - Barrel Camping Pods May 2026 Great and clean facilities, helpful staff, lovely children entertainment and handy restaurant on site. Beautiful surroundings.

Great site
Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2026 We recently stayed at this campsite and overall had a lovely experience. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the family shower room was especially helpful when travelling with three young children — it made things much easier for us.
The only small downside was that the main toilet and shower facilities were quite a walk from where we were pitched, which can be a little challenging with younger children. There was a portable toilet nearby though, which did help.
Unfortunately, some nearby campers were smoking and there was a strong smell of cannabis throughout parts of the day and night. While this wasn’t the campsite’s fault, it did affect our stay slightly.
Aside from that, we really enjoyed our break and would say it’s a great campsite for young families.

Toilets are a bit tired but acceptable
Pitches aren’t marked out which was a bit confusing re parking etc
Waste water and chemical waste points are at a high level so you have to lift the containers which was impossible as they are so heavy so my advice is don’t wait until they are full.

Toilets, showers and wash room are always clean. We will definitely be coming back.

High season prices paid for low season availability VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Mar 2026 Really disappointed. Campsite itself was ok however, we paid high season prices during the first week of the Easter holidays for the bar to be closed and no activities running for the children.
Good stay
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Mar 2026 Lovely site, large plots and we were offered our choice of large serviced plots, the staff were constantly moving around the site checking bins and also toilet areas. Part of the rules of this site was no noise after 10pm.
We really enjoyed our stay here. If I had a negative for this site, it was the toilet and shower block was cold, however I have a shower and toilet on board, so that did not affect us.

Good for kids
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Feb 2026 Good site for kids, they even put on a child's disco in low season which was a nice surprise for the grandkids.
Pitch was not ideal (pitch 9) behind the large sandpit. Felt like a carpark rather than a pitch. I decided that I didn't want to put my awning up as others would have had to travel around it, was only a short stay. If it was a longer break, would have asked to be moved. Very wet weather so pitches were potentially not accessible in other areas.
Staff friendly and hard working. Will visit again but will ensure the right pitch allocation next time.

Great stay
Camping Pod - Barrel Camping Pods Oct 2025 Our stay in the camping pods at Golden Valley Caravan Park was great. The site had everything we needed and all the facilities were to a very good standard.
The toilets and showers were very clean, and they were cleaned on a regular basis. The camping pod was particularly great and certainly useful at this time of year (October),when staying in a tent can be a little chilly.
We had everything we needed for our stay and would recommend to others.
