We loved it! Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Wish we had stayed longer! Lovely small family-run site. We got a couple of pizzas as soon as we arrived and sat at one of the benches to eat - the pizzas were made quickly and were great quality and tasty. The shop is really handy, loved that you could grab an ice lolly or make yourself a hot drink. Toilets and showers were clean and convenient, as was the washing up area. Service from everyone was incredible. We will definitely be back!!
Lovely site, large pitches Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Lovely small site with large pitches , nice and clean showers and toilets and a shop on site The lovely village of clovelly is only a short distance away
Great attention to detail for backpackers Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Great campsite. Bring earplugs for sleeping as by a road, but I had no problem.
Lovely and small Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Lovely and small. Brilliant little self service shop with a few essentials. Nice little toilet and shower block. Friendly chickens to talk to.
Too close to a busy noisy road that kept me awake.
SWCP camping outside of Clovelly Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Nice campsite for SWCP, it is a good mile away from the path (uphill and partly on a road). The owners were incredibly kind and collected me from Clovelly.
Quite noisy from the A road next to it but fantastic facilities and incredibly clean. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming and provided advice on the next section of SWCP that I was walking.
One thing I would suggest changing. It seems unnecessary to have to pay £1 (and have a £1 coin!) to use the showers, I would recommend the owners changing that to either a contactless payment or removing the payment altogether. Given the going rate of other SWCP campsites I have experienced are £15 a night, £25 a night for this campsite plus paying for a shower is a bit unnecessary.
Convient spot for visiting North Devon Wakepark Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 We camped at Roeys while visiting North Devon Wakepark which is only a couple of minutes drive away so super convenient spot for our needs. Roeys were also able to accommodate our request to pitch next to friends who arrived a few days before us so that we could join them which was very much appreciated.
Great little site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2026 Great showers and loos. Relaxing site 5 mins drive from Clovelly. Very friendly owners. Highly recommend.
Excellent Glamping Experience Recommends site
Bell Tent - Bell Tent (Dog Friendly) May 2026 We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Roey’s Retreat in the Bell Tent. We stayed with our two children and two dogs. The hosts were fantastic and advised how we could walk to nearby Clovelly and pointed out all of the facilities and shop. They also checked in regularly to see we had all we needed. The tent was well equipped with everything we could want and the children even got to feed the chickens. Facilities were also really good. We had a lovely time.

Aww it was a pleasure. So pleased you had a wonderful time with us. Thank you x
Nice little find Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Everything you need to camp. Little shop that sells most things.
Loved it here Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting friends.
Karen is by far the best campsite owner we have come across, friendly, informative and goes way beyond most others to ensure your stay is as stress free as possible. The pitches are a good size with electricity included in the price which I like. There is a small shop with an honesty box for any purchases, you'll need some cash for this. The showers and toilets are kept spotlessly clean. Great location for sight seeing. We are planning to return in the summer and stay a bit longer.
Perfect base camp for SWCP Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Just returned after two nights at this ace little site. Perfectly situated for the Westward Ho! to Hartland Quay legs of the SWCP.
The site is immaculate, relaxed and well appointed with a little toilet and shower block.
Flat, soft ground and sheltered.
The Saturday night pizza is awesome after a long day on the trail. The owners Nick and Karen are just the best, helpful, friendly and go well over and above!
Pack some midge repellant would be my only bit of advice.
Well organised site near Clovelly Recommends site
Small Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 The site is tidy and well organised and the owner is friendly and helpful. Be aware that the site is close to the main road and large lorries passing can disturb the peace.
Little gem Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 I stayed here before an early visit the next day to Clovelly village.
Great location but being right beside the A39 it was noisy from traffic during the day (so not so relaxing if you wanted that on site during the day) but overnight was much quieter. Good rate and facilities were very clean.
Wonderful short break Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Very welcoming hosts, thank you very much. Great facilities and location very grateful for our lovely stay.
Great campsite Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Lovely small campsite near clovelly
Amazing stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Excellent stay, wonderful place to station our adventures from, will be returning:)
A very pleasant stay Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 I enjoyed my stay on Roey's Retreat campsite ,i used the site as a base for activities in the area so did not spend a great deal of time on site. The facilities were clean and tidy as i have use of my motor home i did not use the on site facilities.
I would certainly stay again if in the area.
The site staff were very friendly and accommodating.Thank you very much for a very happy stay.
Clean site, but overpriced with lots of road noise Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 Site well placed for walking SW coast path, but be aware of road noise as adjacent to A39.
Facilities basic, but well kept and clean. On top of £30/night you also need to pay £1 for 5 min shower. Site has 25 pitches, but only 2 showers and 4 toilets - can imagine would cause long queues during busy season.
We were only unit on site, yet a walker with single tent chose to pitch literally against our van on our pitch, when 24 other pitches to choose from. Not a fault of the campsite, but would have been nice for them to have asked them to move away from our van.
Owner lovely and very helpful, great communications.
Great site Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 Really friendly site. Thanks for the lift down the hill.
Great campsite owner Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 A nice campsite, just a short walk from Clovelly.
My girlfriend and I arrived late but Nick who runs the campsite came to check on us and show all the facilities. The next morning he very kindly drove us back down to the coast path which we were walking.
Good toilet block and showers and a well-stocked honesty shop.
Nice campground close to Clovelly Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 Good location; very close to Clovelly, and the bathrooms were clean. There was a dish sink and clean water.
The only downside is that you have to pay to take a shower, but otherwise great campground.
Wonderful, small, family campsite Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Lovely small friendly campsite. Relaxing with good facilities and a nice area for chilling out.
A small on site shop selling basic items with tea / coffee to be purchased. Kettle and microwave that is useful when camping (not everyone has hook-ups).
Not far from the lovely village of Clovelly and other tourist attractions.
I hope to be back next year, still lots to explore.

A great spot Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Spacious and relaxed site, with great facilities, including laundry, relax room with kettle, microwave, charger, a shop with basics and access to tea/coffee/utensils for walkers.
Really appreciated that hikers were in a separate field so we can come and go as we want - a thoughtful addition. Great stay.
Great clean and friendly camp site Recommends site
Trailer Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 A great friendly site...sadly missed the pizza social night on the Saturday, so will have to come back again.
Clean and tidy site, well maintained.
Heads up to take physical £1 coins for the shower and cash for the little shop (I'm not that organised so never have cash).
Only improvement I could suggest is a sink area separate from toilets for face washing/teeth cleaning.
Loved our stay though and a great location.
Very noisy Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Very noisy road day and night.
Only one shower and two toilets for male and female the same and you have to pay £1.00 to use the showers. It states in the reviews that the owners of Roey's can collect you from Clovelly village, plus I was told by the members of staff at Clovelly village that the owners would pick us up. I phoned the owner and even though I informed him that I was disabled, he still refused to pick us up and no taxis available. We only stayed the one night instead of two due to having to walk back from Clovelly and a poor night's sleep due to traffic.
