Clear filters Perfect getaway
Motorhome - Non Electric Hardstanding Pitches Feb 2025 If you book here, be prepared to go off grid. We were & we had a great stay. Lovely bike and walking routes. Lovely scenery. Local pub was very friendly.

Pitches amongst the trees, but semi hard standing so no issues if wet. Quite expensive for minimal facilities - water, waste and EHU. Would stay again in the winter months.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Standard Electric Hardstanding Pitches Nov 2024 This was our first stay at Setthorns in the New Forest and we were pleasantly surprised. If you enjoy actually being in the forest, with a good variety of hard standing or grass pitches with or without electricity and really wonderful walking and cycling paths, then this is for you. As long as you have your own toilet and washing facilities. We'll certainly be going back!
Convenient location to overnight and explore the area
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Oct 2024 We arrived after check in closed due to rubbish traffic on the M3 and M27.
The site staff called to ask what time we expected to arrive, and then left instructions in a box. The site is quite noisy during the day being next to a footpath which is well used by dog walkers and horse riders, so not really peace and quiet, but from 10pm to 7:30am, the gates locked and a curfew ensured there were no disturbances from late arrivals while we tried, not very successfully, to sleep - heavy rain and strong winds in the trees all night - can't really blame the site for that :)
In an area that goes to great lengths to discourage any overnight park ups anywhere, Setthorns provides a useful option as a base to explore the locality.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2024 A brilliant spot for our camping weekend with 2 young kids & 2 dogs. Beautiful surroundings and plenty of walking routes & wildlife.
Staff were very helpful before & during our visit. It would be great to have some sort of pot wash and/or toilets for the price, but that's just personal opinion as campers.

Great stay in a great location
Single Axle Caravan - Standard Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2024 Setthorns is a relaxing place to stay with plenty of walking trails into the forest. The staff were friendly and helpful and the caravans and motorhomes were well spaced.
The reception including a shop was open all day every day. The grey water disposal points, fresh water collection points and rubbish bins were all accessible and spotlessly clean. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Setthorns and will definitely be camping there again.

Back to nature
Single Axle Caravan - Select Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2024 This site is perfect if you are looking to get back to nature and away from regimented caravan sites. The pitches are nestled within the trees and we were visited most days by deer. There were plenty of fresh water stations, rubbish bins and chemicals waste points within easy reach of the caravans, so not having toilets and showers on site was no hardship.
Most important of all was the absolute peace and quiet and informality. I will definitely be going back.

Twin Axle Caravan - Select Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2024 Amazing place. Great for kids too, everybody have a personal space and we had a bench and electricity. I would call this place a hidden gem.

Motorhome - Select Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2024 Ultra friendly staff. It's a big site, well spaced out. Doesn't seem packed. In the middle of forest, great dog walks from pitch. All good. Our first visit, not our last.

Nice quiet campsite
VW-Type Campervan - Select Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2024 Stopped for 3 nights to visit flower show at Beaulie. Chose a hard standing electric pitch in high spec area. Plenty of room for our camper van. Took a porta loo and toilet tent. Unable to put up a wind break as brought wrong pegs with us and area is stony. No facilities on sight but with porta potty it was fine. They do check on arrival that you have toilet facilities with you. Able to walk to sway for a meal about 20-30 minutes walk to The Silver Hind and also ate at hare and hounds but further on but can walk it or take car.

Motorhome - Select Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2024 Was really nice being in the woods with the mix of the wildlife. We saw deer, squirrels, robins, was so lovely to be so close and the bike ride trails were excellent….

Peaceful location Motorhome - Select Electric Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2024 Setthorns is undoubtedly a peaceful location - the downside is that there is nothing within walking distance, it's a 30 minute bike ride to the nearest pub and about the same in the opposite direction to find a shop.
The premium pitches are large and well spaced, but the included picnic benches are well overdue replacement. Considering there are no toilet or shower facilities, the pitch prices seem on the high side, but if tranquillity is what you are seeking, then this site certainly delivers that.
Weekend stay at Sethorns
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2024 Stayed overnight on a grass pitch with no electric in our camper and had the whole area to ourselves, with the exception of the ponies wandering through. Absolute heaven.
Definitely a campsite for adults who like peace, quiet and woodland. No kids, no beer gardens with play area and the fact there's no toilet/shower block make it that bit more "wild". Great place to stay and bring the dogs and, of course, a bottle or two of wine!
