Brilliant staff Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Kingfisher Touring Pitches May 2026 Fantastic site, great facilities and wonderful staff. In particular, Hayley on reception at the swimming pool could not have been more helpful, and the same with Sue on reception who even sold us on the idea of booking a Lodge for a week next year, which we have now booked for our family holiday.
Excellent stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Heron Touring Pitches May 2026 Stayed for a weekend dinghy sailing, the harbour master (?) was very helpful. Short visit Broads boat licences are available at reception.
The van site was ok, over sheltered by trees and lots of pigeons. The bar /restaurant was convenient with huge portions. Shower block excellent.
Nice and peaceful Recommends site

Medium Tent - Electric Moorhen Grass Tent Pitches May 2026 Lovely location. Pitch was level and clean. Facilities clean and hot showers. Only negative you park your car away from your pitch and we couldn't find any trollies on arrival or departure day.

Large Tent - Electric Bittern Grass Pitches Apr 2026 5* service from the start, amazed at how well kept the facilities were. The view was relaxing and by far the best camping trip we’ve had. Looking to book again next year!

The best setting Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Kingfisher Touring Pitches Apr 2026 Sadly, the pub and restaurants is only open weekends so we were unable to use them.
When they are open, you probably have everything you need on site. The indoor pool looked lovely, though we did not use it as we were out and about all day.
The views of the harbour from the pitches are stunning. I would say the Kingfisher pitches were on the small side, should you be using an awning, would leave you very little space to sit outside - though there are benches on the green at the water's edge.
The foot ferry takes you across to Carlton Marshes which is a very quick 2 minute trip and worth going to visit the visitor centre, and for a nice walk with bird hides - take binoculars- we saw lots of different birds including Lapwings, Egyptian geese and Marsh Harriers.
Outside of the site there is very little. The roads are unsafe for walking as there are no footpaths. The entrance road to the site is very narrow so do follow the brown signs which have several passing places.

Dear Donna
Thank you for your lovely review!
The bar & restaurant operates at weekends only during off peak periods, so once the peak holiday season is here, they will be open daily.
We hope that we can welcome you back to Waveney River Centre again soon! :)

5 night break Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Kingfisher Touring Pitches Apr 2026 Lovely site with excellent facilities. Location is quite remote and accessed by single track road. Swimming pool was lovely, and at the times we used it, it was very quiet. Would happily book again.

Lovely quiet location Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Kingfisher Touring Pitches Apr 2026 Lovely location, very quiet. Nice bar on-site, serves food. Had some lovely walks to the excellent pub in Burgh St Peter. There's a farm shop in the village too, which serves great food.
We also took the turnpike ferry across the river for a short walk to Carlton Marsh Nature Reserve - a bird watchers paradise, visitors centre and great children's playground.
We also ventured a little further beyond the nature reserve along footpaths to Oulton Broad where you can access water sports, boat trips, trains to Lowestoft and Norwich and Everitt Park with a nice cafe and playground.
There's a pool on-site, but has some odd rules about only having a pre-booked 45 minute slot, enforced even when its quite!!
Site's response
Dear Patrick
Thank you for your feedback & lovely review.
Our pre-booked 45-minute swim slots are in place to ensure all guests have a fair and enjoyable experience, while also allowing us to maintain safety standards and carry out essential cleaning between sessions.
We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you again soon.

Large A-class or Tag Axle Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Kingfisher Touring Pitches Apr 2026 First trip in our motor home a friendly greeting at the reception , the guy working the boat crossing was exceptional and he had a great attitude,a very clean and well maintained site with all you need would come again
Thank you

Enjoyable stay Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Kingfisher Touring Pitches Apr 2026 We have stayed here before and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food at the Waveney Inn was excellent and plenty of it.
The only negative part was that a large family group of campers were quite loud (including one of their cars) and their barbecue smoke drifted into our van. As this was our last night there, we did not let reception know.
Probably wouldn’t go back Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Kingfisher Touring Pitches Apr 2026 Roads to the site were poor, narrow pothole filled roads - not great when a tractor is coming the other way.
Site was clean and the pool was lovely. You definitely need a car unless you are a lover of walking miles to get anywhere. Staff came across as rude. One day told we didn't have to pay for ferry, the next day we did. One day they said just ring when you want to come back, the next day we could only return at the exact stated time despite again being told to ring for a return.
Fabulous Recommends site
