Wow - what a wonderful weekend at this fantastic little campsite. I'd read the reviews and was not disappointed when we got there. I can't add much to everyone else's reviews. Yes, the welcome was lovely, genuine and thorough, proper chatty. Yes the pitch was in great location, all services. Yes, the site was wonderfully peaceful, its capable of catering for far more units but owners by sound, of it by choice, keep it to a really small amount of bookings, which is wonderful for those staying. Yes, the jewel in the crown, the bathroom facilities, never seen a toilet block so clean, so well looked after, absolutely stunning. And the fact you are given your own bathroom and shower facilities for the duration of your stay is just fantastic. A complete bathroom to yourselves, you can leave your wash gear, towels etc in there, all secure, no waiting in the morning or sharing facilities, its all yours. Wonderful, restful weekend, thank you.

Owner was very friendly and helpful. Shame about the weather, wet and windy but we had been allocated a sheltered pitch close to the site's amenities. Will bring book again as it is very convenient for the Lakes and coastal area. Extended stay to 5 nights due to weather conditions.

We loved it here, so quiet and peaceful. Each pitch has their own little shower and toilet area in the block which is great. Loved watching rabbits running about. Owners were lovely too, always time for you. If you want peace and quiet, then this has it.
Very peaceful, perfect for a couple of nights

I received a lovely welcome from Julie. She explained the shower and laundry facilities. 10/10 for the cleanliness of the shower toilet etc. and to be allocated one for you. In a lovely location, gardens/plots well maintained, very quiet. Can highly recommend this site and will definitely go back again.

Very quiet site with some stunning views. Couples only site. Owners of the site were very helpful and friendly. Site amenities were good but could do with updating.
Site's response
We try to help our customers, even if their tent fails. They tried welding but no one would do it, so we cut a pipe and it worked and we asked nothing bar £20 to charity, so they got their holiday for the week. They had Pitch 5 which is not outdated.

Wonderful host, nothing was too much trouble. On realising we had a rescue dog who could be reactive, we were given a pitch with lots of privacy, but a wonderful view and plenty of room, also near all facilities. Stunning grounds full of wildlife, our dog loved rabbit-watching. Immaculate, individual shower, toilet cubicles. Very highly recommended.

We selected this site for our first ever camping trip and it was a great introduction to the joys of life under canvas. The location, whilst a bit further out from the heart of the lakes, was an ideal base for exploring this beautiful part of the world. 10 minutes or so from the beautiful town of Cockermouth, 25 minutes from Keswick. The onsite facilities were great, a designated wet room was allocated for our exclusive use, meaning we didn't need to carry toiletries with us every morning. The wet room was clean with excellent showers. The site itself was beautifully maintained with excellent pitches throughout for both caravans and tents. The owner, Judith, greeted us on arrival and spoke to us on departure to ensure everything had been to our liking. Throughout our stay she was visible, but not intrusively so, should we have encountered any problems. Overall we couldn't fault The Larches for price, service, location or cleanliness. I would highly recommend it if you are looking to spend any time in what is a truly stunning part of the UK, we certainly couldn't have picked a better site for our first camping experience and we will certainly be back.

Lovely family-run site, very clean shower block, you are allocated your own shower room for the time you are there so you can leave all your belongings in there safely. It's a very quiet site with bunny rabbits running around and great views! No pub or onsite food shop, but has a caravan/camping shop onsite. Judith, the owner, works very hard and made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble! Keswick is about 15 minutes drive away. Would recommend staying here!

Lovely site, peaceful and quiet, own shower room and toilet, clean and close. Our pitch was with EHU. Judith was very friendly and helpful, not far from the West Coast or the Lake District. We had a lovely stay shame the weather wasn't that good. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend it.
Thoroughly enjoyed

Lots of room on pitch, large grass areas for exercising dogs, will definitely be returning. Excellent site, very easy to find just off the main road, nice large flat pitches, lots to do and see without having to travel too far. Very friendly family run site.

This a lovely quiet spot for camping full of bird song, open space, views of Cumbria Hills, hopping bunnies and general greenery. The host was very welcoming. Hot showers and facilities to catch up with some washing. Electric hook up if needed. Dog friendly- my 2 were really relaxed here. There is something about this site that feels so calm and relaxing.

Lovely quiet site close to Wigton (10mins drive) run by lovely folk 👌 Great bonus to have your own shower/toilet space and close to lots of walking/hiking. If you want just a nice bit of peace and quiet just to chill out, then this is the place to book definitely 😀

Friendly welcome as the site was quiet while we stayed. Offered a variety of pitches and had a large area all to ourselves. Lovely host who always looked out for us. Weather was great first few days and then a day of solid rain and overcast after, which was a real shame as we had lots of plans!

A warm welcome from Judith who was a wealth of knowledge about the local area. Good views from our hardstanding pitch with electrical hook up and own water tap. Clean facilities in our individually allocated washroom. Nice quiet site, wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely return.

We loved our stay. It's exactly what we were looking for - peace and quiet. We were well relaxed and enjoyed every minute of it. We were sad to leave. The only bad part was leaving as we could have easily stayed longer. The facilities were clean and it was really good having your own key. We were surrounded by wildlife and peace and quiet. Thanks again, we will be back.
A lovely quiet site.

Judith was so helpful and friendly. The sole use "bathrooms" were great. The accessible bathroom was very well equipped. I could get my scooter right up to the door. We had fun watching the rabbits. Will definitely be coming back.

Our one-night stay at this campsite in our campervan was truly unforgettable. The owner's warm and friendly welcome, coupled with the thoughtful gesture of an engagement card upon learning about our recent engagement, added a special touch to our experience. The amazing facilities, including our own dedicated toilet and power shower, exceeded our expectations and provided a touch of luxury to our camping adventure. We highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a fantastic getaway and plan to return for a longer stay in the future.

We were met on arrival and given a choice of pitches and were also shown our own dedicated shower/toilet/washroom. If you're looking for a very quiet calm and peaceful site with large spread out pitches, this is the site for you! The facilities may not be the most modern but they are exceptionally clean. I would not hesitate to stay at this site in the future.
