Pleasant and welcoming

The site is quite remote and SatNav wouldn't find it, but managed with Waze. Excellently laid out and toilets and showers were very clean. Plenty of space and separation. Remote location meant no risk of being disturbed.

First night

This was our first night away on our Scotland trip in a hired van. From start to finish was great - booking, arrival instructions, hook up and facilities. Liked that it was small and quiet. Great stop off from Kelpies on our way North.

Clean and well looked

Clean well looked after quiet with all necessary facilities provided. Lovely little campsite off the beaten track but with 5 star services. Next to a Right of Way allowing some beautiful country walks. Lynn, the owner, very helpful, knowledgeable & friendly. Just loved the tranquillity and the peace and quiet.

Very nice quiet location with all the facilities.

Isolated, cheap campsite

It was rather miserable to have to put our table & chairs on the gravel because the nice grass was kept for the end of the season. The power was cut off on our second day - we were only charging a fridge & devices. Additional power was available for purchase. There are a lot of signs but we didn't like the gravel. Lovely lady & cat.

Thank you for your review, we try to minimise the use of signs but were forced to put some up due some guests not reading the terms & conditions or emails sent, you did say to me you didn't read emails. Our campsite is in central Scotland, 1 mile from the main trunk routes north & south, and near some world famous tourist sites such as the Falkirk Wheel & Kelpies which is 15 minutes away, so not sure why you describe it as isolated. Being from Australia you were maybe not familiar with the area? Our pitches are XL hardstanding & fully serviced, so loads of room on them, to be on the grass would infringe on the space of the next pitch down and reduce the space legally required for a fire break. There is a leisure area for guests with seats provided that is pure grass. The electric allocation should have been more than enough for what you have described so we are not too sure how you used so much?

Fabulously peaceful

A lovely, small and quiet site. Clean facilities. 2-3 miles from the motorway, so easily accessible. Lovely walks nearby.

Lovely campsite, would stay again

Lovely campsite, quiet and has everything you need.

Out of electric

We didn't realise the electric would go off as we hadn't read the email, so make sure you read all correspondence as this was our only source of heating. I would recommend a change and allow us to run over and then be charged by our original payment method. That would have stopped us from getting really cold during the storm. I was out at 4 o'clock as I thought I had van problems, but only to find it was cut off as we had used our allowed amount. Other than that, it was great.

Ron, thank you for your review and glad you liked our campsite. It is not nice to be cold in the night, but the electric policy is stated clearly on our website and in 3 emails you receive before your arrival at the campsite. One email upon booking, another the day before your arrival and another the day of arrival. We are a small family-run campsite with only 6 pitches. The system you suggest would leave some guests open to leave in the morning without payment.

Great stopover

Stayed as an overnight stopover whilst travelling north in early winter. Location very convenient for major trunk roads. Small site with basic facilities (eg toilet block in portacabin), but everything immaculately clean and well presented. Communication from site owner was first class with a warm welcome. Some slight noise from the motorway, but not enough to affect a night's sleep. All-in-all, I would stay again, although not sure whether I would select it as a base for a main holiday.

Perfect location

We were looking for a place near Edinburgh, but on the road for Stirling, and this place is perfect. Very clean, the shower was hot and the pitch very large. We enjoyed our stay.

Lovely site

Really lovely small site. Excellent, clean facilities and friendly owner.

Peace and tranquility

Beautiful site. With a hygiene area (toilet and shower), hook-up and water, it's perfect. I'd say it's more of an adults only site, as there's nothing to keep children entertained. But, it had everything I needed, and huge pitches too.

Indy stopover

Directions were perfect, the welcome letter uses what3words so my satnav got me right to the door, not only that, the new AvTourer 3 Garmin satnav has this site on the page, simply search, click and hey presto, it’s there. On arrival one is requested to send a quick text, this was done and the warm welcome from Lynn ensued. Fantastic pitch, breathtaking scenery, service water and power right there. Grey waste at the pitch and the toilet waste was very nearby. Overall 10/10 from me and huge thanks to Lynn. See you again 👍 Colin Hunter

Fantastic, quiet getaway

Brilliant campsite. Brilliantly located for exploring Stirling, Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. Extremely quiet and very friendly.

An oasis

What a little oasis tucked out of the way, very quiet, very neat and tidy and very very clean. The pitches were well-spaced, the facilities and hook ups are excellent.

Great

The Highland Gateway Glamping and Caravanning was great. The nature around the camping spot was absolutely beautiful but a little remote, which I guess is a good thing. Everything was super clean and quiet. The toilets and showers were the cleanest I have seen on any camping place thus far. In total, it was incredible.

Glad you liked our campsite but there are 2 showers, not 1. There is a campsite plan on the notice board at the toilet area and you get a link to the plan in your pre-arrival email.

Lovely place

Beautiful views, everything was really clean, owner was responsive and friendly and it was a lovely small quiet site. We were able to order takeaway from the site too which was very useful as it was the last of a 10 night trip and we had run out of energy and food! Will definitely stay again and considering the glamping pods as they look beautiful too.

One of the nicest sites we've been on

Absolutely spotless site and facilities. Peace and quiet is exactly what we needed and got. Friendly owner. Perfect for our visit to The Kelpies. I went with my adult son and he used Just Eat but there was a Co Op close by for supplies. Such a lovely spot and I will definitely be back.

Brilliant site

Marvellous site. Clean, tidy facilities. Friendly owners. Stress free stay. Beautiful views. Great for exploring Scotland. Supermarkets a 5 minutes drive.

Good clean site

Good clean site. Ideal for a stop-off to go further into Scotland. The scenery is nice on one side, the road on another, but it doesn't really affect If you just want to stay in camp and relax then perfect, to do more tourism, then not so much. But would definitely do 1 night again. Wi-Fi good, and clean showers.

Thank you for your review, and it was nice you felt the campsite was clean and a good place to relax. A lot of our guests come because of our central location and short drive to many top-class, central Scotland attractions, but still in a quiet location. It is 1 mile from the main trunk roads north and south. Edinburgh is only 30 minutes away, Glasgow is 40 minutes, and you can see Stirling Castle and Wallace monument from the campsite. The world famous Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel are 15 minutes' drive away. The end of our driveway is the national cycle route number 76, we are 1 mile from the start of the Fife coastal route. Popular tourist attractions such Culross, where Outlander was filmed, and the Japanese gardens are 20 minutes' drive to name but a few. The road you are referring to is 0.5km from the campsite.
