Set in the foothills of Snowdonia, Plas Gwyn Caravan and Camping Park is the perfect base to explore North Wales. With historic Caernarfon just ten minutes away and Anglesey a 15 minute drive, this site is a haven for adventurers. This peaceful site has a range of serviced grass and hardstanding pitches. Great for tents and tourers, motorhomes and campervans along with three cosy Timber Tents. Dogs are more than welcome to join too!

Perfect beautiful campsite, very helpful friendly staff. Very small shop with the essentials. Toilet block shower area was spotless and very well presented. Great showers and plenty of hot water. Well serviced pitches with everything you need will defo go again

Lovely campsite. We camped, the part for the tents was lovely and clean. General bin was a little full however this appeared to be because people where not recycling as these bins where empty. Showers, toilets clean, washing up room was very clean. Could do with a play area for kids but there was a lovely a field with goal posts. No issues and will recommend.

Hi Alicia, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We do appreciate it. Just to address your two comments, in Wales as a business, we have to recycle at source. That is why we only have one general waste bin in the camping area. Like you say, if people recycled, there would be very little waste going into the general waste bin. The bin areas are emptied once a day, around mid-day and checked frequently. As for a play area, we deliberately don't have one, except for the flat area in the field. This is purely because we market ourselves on peace and quiet and we find that when there is a play area, children will congregate and the noise level can increase to extremes. We like to hear children playing but not to the detriment of other guests . Thank you for sticking with us, during a very wet and windy Bank Holiday weekend. You were true hardy campers. Just had a three night stay in one of the timber tents (2 adults & one 15yo). They ticked all the boxes! The mattresses were comfy, it had a little fridge, kettle, light, plug socket and folded up camping table which were super handy. There is an integral fan heater, which we only used one afternoon to help dry our towels. But honestly, the cabin was so cosy, it was warmer at night than I expected, even though the weather was a bit grim and if anything, we cracked open the window a bit! The amenities block was very clean and the shower temperature was perfect. Location was also great - barely 10mins to Llanberis & all there is there, or to Caernarfon - and so much more in the wider area. We didn't have any problems whilst we were there, but the owner seemed lovely and friendly and I'm sure they'd be right on any reasonable request. For what it is, I think the pricing is on point. It's obviously basic, but comfortable, clean & well located. Definitely on the 'would stay again' list.

Arrived, checked in on time. Was a little shocked after paying £273 for 7 nights to then have to pay extra for electric - small writing "metered", nothing about paying extra. The toilet and show facilities were very clean, as was the kitchen area, with the added bonus of a freezer and microwave to use at no extra cost. The site is pleasant enough and clean. Nothing to do for older children.

After you brought it to our attention that you weren't aware that the electric was an additional charge, we have contacted campsites.co.uk and our listing has been amended to hopefully stop this from being a shock to someone else. You only pay for what you actually use, at the price that we are being charged. At the end of the stay we refund any remaining money left on the card. Our site is a small site, that offers peace and quiet and a great base to explore Snowdonia, Anglesey and the Llyn Pennisula. There are lots of things to do for older children (although it does depend upon what your older child likes to do), and we are always around and happy to make suggestions. We have a tourist information section next to the laundry with lots of leaflets. The WiFi is free so that you can also research things. Thank you again for your kind words. Rob & Sally "The Hamptons"

Fantastic site. Very clean shower block and toilets. Also very clean around the site and well looked after. The camping pitches were a good size and the field was looked after (no muddy patches or puddles) this site is great thank you for sharing your land with us. Anthony and Harvey James

Perfect location, family friendly. Regular cleaning in toilets and signs displayed when they were being cleaned. There was a fob system to get in and out of showers, toilets and washing area. The hosts were friendly, checked in on us, nothing seemed like it would of been any trouble! We 100% will return!

We stayed at this site for bank holiday weekend. The campsite is beautiful and very well maintained. The owners are lovely and accommodating. The stay would have been perfect had there been better weather (typical wind and rain over bank holiday weekends). There was an issue with a group of lads staying on the site who were drinking and started to fight in the middle of the night, but the owners dealt with them and apologised to all campers that were affected by them.

I really enjoyed my stay here, it is a perfect location for walkers - sherpa bus stop 10 minutes walk from campsite was great bonus! It was very quiet during my stay, but it wasn't very busy. Facilities are very nice and we're spotlessly clean and the owners were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this site and hopefully will be coming back soon!

Great campsite with good, clean facilities and friendly, helpful owners. It's a short walk to the bus stop that runs on the main bus route from Caernarfon to Porthmadog. We headed to Llanberis for our walk up Snowdon 😊

Super - the best facilities I've seen at a campsite. Quiet and well kept. Only downside is there aren't any plug sockets anywhere.

What a little gem. Absolutely lovely site, friendly owners, facilities clean as a whistle. Buses stop outside entrance and drop off outside. Lovely site, highly recommend.

Had a lovely time few days away. Stayed in Nuthatch pod, which was lovely. Facilities very good and very clean hot water in showers. Didn't use kitchen or laundry area but nice to know we could have. Owners lovely, really friendly and welcoming. Great value for money. We would defo stay again.
