Beautiful campsite Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2024 This was our second stay at this campsite based on our first experience.
We loved the campsite the first time we booked back in 2023, it's a great location, close to The Bay and Whitby. We enjoyed the walk and looked forward to this stay.
We had the wettest winter in the week leading up to our stay. When we arrived, the owner greeted us and warned us about where to pitch as the ground was so wet and in parts, so wet cars were getting stuck. We cut our holiday short due to the high winds and the relentless rain, this was no fun for kids as they could not do anything. The day before we had sun, but not enough to dry the ground, the grass was not cut, so it was long and wet, meaning each time we needed to go the toilet, you got wet just walking to the toilets.
The footpath to the Bay was not accessible due to the mud and overgrown nettles and shrubs. The facilities are basic, two toilets and one shower, could be more for the size of the site, also not hot water for washing dishes.
We did see a lot of people cut their stay short due to the weather. We are not sure if it's a place we would stay again.

Ducks, peacocks and chickens were wandering around and there were beautiful views from the clifftop.
Cleveland way walk stop off
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Hardstanding and Grass Touring Pitches Apr 2024 Fantastic place to stay, beautiful views and only a few minutes' walk into Robin Hood's Bay.
Ideal location to get onto the Cleveland way. The owner was lovely and friendly and it was nice to see the horses and peacocks and hens etc roaming around. I will definitely be coming again.
Easter weekend
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Mar 2024 Lovely owner, made to feel very welcome. Very close to Robin Hood's Bay. Clean facilities, great pub nearby for Sunday dinner. Would recommend.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Mar 2024 Second time visiting, we love this site. They don’t overbook it so it stays quiet. Gorgeous views and walks. Owners are so lovely and maintain the site well.
Lovely stay
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Hardstanding and Grass Touring Pitches Feb 2024 A lovely stay ideally for what we needed😊. We would definitely stop for another night in the summer, when it is hopefully less muddy.
A lovely walk into Robin Hoods bay. The track was very muddy so you would need wellies or walking boots.
A Lovely little set up with toilets and a shower. I don't think I'd personally feel comfortable using the shower, but it was used whilst we were there 😊
The check in was easy.

I like how the site just had the basic necessities, i.e. toilet, water and a shower with an honesty box.
I thought it was quite pricey considering no hot water available for washing up etc, but we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would certainly return.
Scenic and perfectly positioned site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2023 This site offers the most incredible views across towards the coast and out to sea. The Cleveland Way passes just below the site so it's a perfect base for walking. Robin Hood's Bay is about a 15min walk down a nice path with no roads.
We had lots of room and Heidi was always on hand to answer questions if needed. I also brought my horse who stayed in the paddock directly next to our tent. It was so lovely to look out to see him grazing and the hacking nearby is fab. The site was dog friendly and perfect for our little boys too.
Facilities are basic but do the job and are clean and well serviced, can't ask for more than that! We would love to return and highly recommend this site :)
Quiet piece of heaven
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2023 Arrived at campsite and booked in - very easy. Perfect piece of quiet heaven with no big parties or music, playing into the night. Toilet facilities were very clean as was the shower. Washup sink setup was very good. Waste takeaway was brilliant. Close enough to walk to Robin Hoods Bay and the various pubs to eat/drink in. Will come again.
Enjoyed our stay Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2023 Me and my son's first camp together. We loved the spot, had a great time.
