Clear filters Small quiet site
Large Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2024 Great campsite, small and quiet and well situated for a variety of walks and cycle rides out of Kettlewell. Pitches are really spacious.
There are two toilets and one shower, but max people on site is 16. Even when full, we never had an issue.
Would absolutely recommend and will be returning.

Great campsite for those who need peace and quiet
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2024 We had a wonderful time at Wharfe Camp. A truly beautiful site with good facilities and spacious pitches. This is a quiet site for those who love the more peaceful side of camping. It is close to Kettlewell which has nice pubs with good food, especially the Sunday roast at the Blue Bell Inn.

A beautiful, peaceful stay
Small Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2024 The campsite is small with spacious pitches, very well maintained, beautiful views, quiet and peaceful. Near to the village of Kettlewell, the River Wharfe and many walks. The bathroom is clean and well equipped. Friendly, helpful owner.

Peace and quiet
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2024 This is a lovely, well kept site in a great position, a few minutes walk from the village. Perfect if you are looking for peace and quiet. The only slight downside is the 20p per 2 min for the shower, which starts as soon as you put the money in the meter.
We really enjoyed our stay and will be returning.

I'm so sorry you weren't aware of the shower starting straight away. There is a sign right by the meter, but maybe you missed this, saying "please note your shower time will start as soon as your coins are inserted. Please insert enough coins for your desired time. This is displayed on the meter". We usually mention on check in too, but we must have forgotten.

Amazing gem of a place
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2024 What an amazing place, note, this is a quiet campsite and only encourages quiet respectful campers. If you want to party, play ball games and music then this isn't the place for you!
We stayed 3 nights, the pitches and the thought put into the layout are very obvious. Private pitches and only 5 in the full place! Brilliant, toilet and shower facilities are spot on, 20p for a 2min shower, we found £1 did us both. Being small, there was never a wait for a shower. Toilets are immaculate with soft close seats. Amazing.
5 mins walk for the village of Kettlewell with its 3 pubs, all serving food. In the Yorkshire Dales, which can only be described as outstanding.
Only gripe was the electricity at £10 per night. Very very expensive to charge phones and run a hairdryer for 5 mins in the morning. I understand they have to cover costs, but my only issue. If you don't want electric hook-up, then I will give this place 110%. Try it, you wont be disappointed!

Unfortunately, due to electric costs and the items used for camping nowadays, we have to charge the £10 for hook-up. We have done research and are inline with other sites.

A lovely break in Wharfedale

Good size pitches and well laid out with clever planting of hedges. Lovely views.
Good facilities with plenty of hot water for the shower (extra charge) and the washing up station.
Handy for Kettlewell Village.

Peaceful and relaxing
Large Tent - Grass Tent Pitches May 2024 If you want a getaway where there's no children, no dogs and no noise, this is the place for you. It's a small site just a short stroll from the village centre where you'll find some lovely pubs.
Though owners are very welcoming and friendly, we'll definitely be returning.

Quaint little campsite
VW-Type Campervan - Grass and Hardstanding Campervan Pitch May 2024 Pros - cute little campsite with individual camping bays separated by hedges. Toilets kept nice and clean. Easy to find and just a 2 minute walk from the nearest village that has a couple of pubs to choose from. Nice walks from the village and a lovely church to explore. We were greeted on arrival and shown the best way to access the pitch without churning up the grass. Lots of things to do nearby.
Cons - we stayed on the camper pitch which wasn't very level and backed onto the road. It wasn't a busy road, but we could hear vehicles as they passed. Personal choice, I wasn't keen on the toilet block being unisex. Two toilets and one shower. I felt a little awkward when I was getting washed one night and a couple came and stood behind me waiting for the sinks.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Wharfe Camp. We always like to greet our campers and show them to their pitch. If you come again we suggest pulling forward on the campervan pitch to get the best level for your campervan. The pitch is sheltered from the village road, higher level, with a large hedge and big drystone wall.
Our facilities block isn't large due to only ever 16 campers at a time. It is over the recommended ratio of person to loo/shower needed.
We still hope the benefits of small, adults only, large pitches and quiet peaceful surroundings outweigh your cons. 😊
A beautiful retreat
Large Tent - Grass Tent Pitches May 2024 As our first holiday together, my boyfriend and I couldn't have happened upon a better site. With beautiful views of the valley and animals, the northern lights on our first night - we were truly spoiled.
The site features one 'pay as you use' shower, two toilets and convenient washing facilities - all were kept in a lovely condition. All other campers were respectful of one another, and the hosts very kind and welcoming.
We visited Malham Cove, White Scar Caves, and the adjoining villages. My only suggestion is that you plan your meals accordingly as there are not many supermarkets near by! But the pubs, and Cecilia's Pizza down the road are great.
Other than that, this little site truly is a gem and I recommend it to all couples or solo campers who are looking for a quaint, well kept site in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Thank you Wharfe Camp!

Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Sep 2023 If you want peace and quiet in a fabulous setting on a small adult only site, then this is the one for you.
It's a 'quiet site' so no music/loud noise and no kids, which is perfect if you want to totally relax and chill out.
Toilets and shower very clean and well maintained.
5 minutes walk to village - 2 pubs, couple of coffee shops and a village store. Great setting!

Pitch perfect!
VW-Type Campervan - Grass and Hardstanding Campervan Pitch Sep 2023 We had a very relaxing couple of nights here. Good idea to have no dogs, no children. Left ours at home and enjoyed the peace and quiet! Easy walk into village and great hike over to Arncliffe.

Bit of a slope to contend with, and some road noise in the early evening.

The slight traffic noise early evening happens, likely being visitors coming to stay in the Dales. Also, the campsite is close to Kettlewell and not in a remote location, and there are also locals returning home from work.

Fantastic, small campsite
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2023 Really nice, small campsite just a few minutes walk from Kettlewell village, which had some nice pubs and local shop. Had a really nice walk up Great Whernside which started/ended in the village.
The facilities were ideal and even included a small freezer to re-freeze ice packs. Just be aware that this is a quiet site so no music is allowed but it made for a really peaceful few days.

Lovely, little, friendly site
Large Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2023 Lovely little friendly site, set in an unspoilt village. Fantastic shower, toilet and pot washing facilities. Fab that it was adults only.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. really safe and friendly. We booked 3 nights and loved it that much, we extended our stay, as did some of the other campers.

Excellent views
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2023 Excellent campsite. Only one shower though, which was very good. We thought the rules are bit strange that you can't book with friends and not be sociable. If you want peace and quiet though, it's a must.

Thank you for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and the views. With only ever a maximum of 16 people on the campsite when full, the shower has a higher ratio to people than is recommended and we haven't witnessed any issues. We do have the rules on the campsite being no groups in order to offer something different and unique, therefore enabling a peaceful, relaxing place to stay. Lots of our campers return due to this. It's clearly stated on our website so that a customer has a choice.
For nature lovers
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2023 The campsite is in an ideal location in nature next to a small village (diner and groceries).
We did three hikes from there in the amazing nature, surrounding the site. The campsite has everything you need, friendly people and a very pleasant atmosphere. The fact that it is only for adults makes it a quiet place.
I would love to come back.

Lovely, small campsite

I'm sorry, but being in a rural farming location we can't control the sheep.
We also have some lovely owls that give a twit twoo too.
