Clear filters Lovely break with my daughter Recommends site
Bell Tent - Anne's Acre Bell Tents (Dog Friendly) May 2025 The tent was clean and bright with a comfy bed. Showers/toilets were spotless and regularly cleaned. We enjoyed tea/cake in the farm shop before a day trip to Waddesdon. Overall, a lovely, peaceful site with friendly staff.
A work in progress Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Touring Pitches (Lawsons Lane) May 2025 This is a relatively new site which on-line offers a lot - level camping fields, pods, yurts as well as the five grass CL pitches. In addition, there is a farm shop, pigs, sheep and café. It is close to the Chilterns and in a good area for cycling.
The café is open to outside visitors and is very popular - this facility I would rate 4*. The farm shop was not what most people would expect - really disappointing, just a few displays with a very limited range of goods - I would rate 1*.
The toilet facilities were rather inadequate for the size of the site - only 2 cubicles in each of the men's (plus 2 urinals) and women's although there was a separate spacious family / disabled wash room. The showers had very low level trays with curtains that most users found unable to contain the spray, resulting in constantly wet floors. These facilities were not clean when we arrived, although did improve greatly during the week after I had a conversation with the owner's daughter.
The facilities for caravan/campervan toilet waste was interesting - a modified agricultural hopper with piped water around the rim, as well as the usual tap and hose. This would have worked well except while I was emptying, there was the alarming experience of waste liquid gushing up out of the inspection cover and running across the concrete floor. I reported this to the owner who said he would pump out the tank, which he did promptly.
A work in progress is an accurate description of the site. There were contractors building close to the facilities and laying drains across the car park which was, fortunately, fully reinstated just in time for the many Friday Bank Holiday weekend arrivals which filled the car park. The campers, with many children, had a great time, the large fields providing spacious pitches and good activity spaces.
So, for campers, an interesting family site; as a CL, particularly if you are expecting a quiet time, less successful. At £28 a night without electric hook up (under construction) the site is expensive and needs further improvement.
Lovely campsite Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Touring Pitches (Lawsons Lane) Apr 2025 Great facilities, friendly people and lovely pigs to see too :-)
Great overall experience Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Touring Pitches (Lawsons Lane) Apr 2025 We liked the pitches, onsite cafe, location, onsite pigs, child and dog friendly.
We got moved around a bit due to confusion about which pitch we were booked on, which I found frustrating and inconvenient. Twice on first day and then when we came back from a day out on the second day, someone new had been booked on to our pitch without warning, which necessitated a further move.

Small Tent - Non Electric Tent Pitches (The Old Apiary Field) Mar 2025 Found quite by accident due to a late need for a campsite close to Tring.
Easy to find, well signposted and Googlemaps friendly. Arrived late on the Saturday and unfortunately didn't get to enjoy the cafe as they were closing. Lovely staff did offer take out, so still managed to have coffee and cake! Looking around, they did have quite an extensive range of farm food and home made and not stupidly priced.
Was given a map to locate my pitch which, when I arrived in the field, wasn't marked or very clear, but I'm assuming that was the early nature of the season. Unprecedented thunderstorm and 3 hours of constant rain meant my pitch became water logged and I ended up having to drag my tent to a higher part of the field which luckily, was quite empty. I think they were trying to give everyone space but might have been easier to keep the few tents there were in the road side pitches that had shorter grass. Had it been dry it would have been fine (and I did appreciate the thought).
Facilities were basic but clean and tidy.
Overall, I would definitely use again, the kids would love the animals as long as they were younger, not a lot to do for older kids. It would have been nice to be able to use the cafe with their longer opening times in later months. Very quiet and peaceful at night and some gorgeous skies after dark with very little light pollution once the storm had passed! I felt very safe and enjoyed my time there.
Amazing Recommends site
Roof Tent - Non Electric Grass Touring Pitches (Lawsons Lane) Mar 2025 Really impressed with this location. Staff were all really helpful and friendly. Pretty cool to be around the animals, convinced we heard the pigs at night! They had good washing and toilet facilities but not sure about showers as we only did one night.
Breakfast in the farm shop café in the morning was lovely, good quality food. I purchased some eggs and some cake from the shop, there was a good selection to pick from. It did get busy pretty quickly in there so I'd suggest booking if possible - as we went early, it was okay for the two of us.
We have both said that this will be our local spot and very much looking forward to returning, especially in the warmer months.
Great campsite, even better food Recommends site
Roof Tent - Non Electric Grass Touring Pitches (Lawsons Lane) Mar 2025 We stayed at OVF for our first trip out in our tentbox Set in a lovely country setting, the farm was great.
We had a bit of lunch which was delicious and fantastic value. The staff were all very friendly and James made us feel very welcome. Our only disappointment were the trails to walk the dogs, though as the farm is set back off a busyish road, we did take a wander and found a couple of bridle ways to explore.
Nice pod but no bedding or power Camping Pod - Luxury Camping Pods (Dog Friendly) Jan 2025 Nice pod but no bedding or power, extremely basic!
The location is really good, the site is very nice, especially the cafe. Friendly staff and was very quiet, but that's where the good things ended.
The pod we had had no bedding at all, just a mattress with a protector. The pictures show bedding on the bed and, for me, the only thing that gives a hint that there might not be bedding is the option to buy additional bedding. I think they need to make this more clear.
The only plug socket in the pod was not operational so we could not charge the phones, use the kettle we bought or even use a heater as it was extremely cold!
The last point, there is not a single heater or radiator in the pod. That's fine in the summer but I feel in the winter months they should have heaters!
At -1c temperatures at night, it made for not a very pleasant stay sadly.
Great site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Touring Pitches (Lawsons Lane) Sep 2024 I love this site. Second time I’ve stayed. Relaxed, friendly, and clean. There’s a shop on site and you can get a cooked breakfast too. I also liked the app type thing you load onto your phone giving loads of useful information. Nice touch.

Glamping pod for family of five Recommends site
Camping Pod - Luxury Camping Pods (Dog Friendly) Aug 2024 Nice campsite with great facilities including the on-site farm shop and café which was convenient (and tasty) for breakfast. We experienced a warm welcome and helpful assistance from the host. The glamping pod was great with plenty of room for two adults and three young children, with the bonus of a lovely view of the countryside and some of the farm animals. The private space around the pod, along with the fire pit and picnic table, was a nice addition to what we have experienced at other similar sites. We'd be happy to stay at Orchard View Farm again.

That's great to hear Matt, we will look forward to welcoming you and your family again.
Great place! Recommends site
Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Touring Pitches (Lawsons Lane) Aug 2024 A fabulous spot for us taking our two grandsons for their first camping trip! It suited us fine to be so quiet.
Sadly, the café was closed while we were there. Surprised that during the summer holidays, it was so empty. I think camping prices in the UK in general are just getting too expensive.
Site's response
We are glad you had a successful trip with your two grandsons. As a small business we are unable to open the cafe everyday as our staff work so hard already for the other 6 days.
We are open Tuesday to Sunday and Bank holiday Mondays
Very happy Recommends site
Camping Pod - Luxury Camping Pods (Dog Friendly) Aug 2024 Very helpful staff and the site goes above and beyond in regards to cleanliness. Our pod was comfortable, with a large organiser box, a small table and chairs as well as side tables.
Outside there was a bench and also a firepit, which can be used as a grill, too. The pod had a fence giving, you a feeling of privacy. We tried the cafeteria and the food was excellent.
Brilliant place to stay, great facilities Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Tent Pitches (The Old Apiary Field) Jul 2024 Great place to stay, really enjoyed a weekend of peace and quiet. Facilities were spot on and clean. great addition are wheelbarrows to help get the kit in and out of the field. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Touring Pitches (Lawsons Lane) Jul 2024 We enjoyed staying at this lovely farm campsite. The facilities were handy and very clean - I was very happy to shower here.
The motorhome pitches had little private gardens which made it feel extra special. I would definitely camp here again if I was in the area.

Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Touring Pitches (Lawsons Lane) Jul 2024 A relatively new site with great facilities now and some impressive developments coming. The farm shop/ café are excellent, serving great produce. There is a bar with smoke house / BBQ and Pizza oven open on selected nights.
Overall we were very happy and will return. Very highly recommended.
Great stay Recommends site
Camping Pod - Luxury Camping Pods (Dog Friendly) Jun 2024 I would certainly recommend this site, it was clean.
We stayed in a pod and it certainly met my expectations. The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful.
The showers and toilets were OK, the café and farm shop were excellent.
The only negative for me was there was no freezer for campers to use without pestering the owners, although they were happy to help.
Superb Recommends site
