Beautiful campsite

We were met by Amy on arrival. She was very friendly and welcoming and gave us a good introduction to the campsite. We were able to choose our pitch as we were the first to arrive and chose a lovely spot amongst the apple trees which are absolutely laden with fruit. The ground was nice and flat with no awful bumps or holes. There is a fire pit at each pitch, whether you are staying in your own tent or using one of the bell tents, yurt or teepee. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of amenities. The kitchen area is well stocked with pans, crockery and cutlery as well as having storage space for food for each pitch. There are also 3 fridges (one with an icebox) and a kettle, washing up liquid, tea towels etc. There are 2 washrooms and 2 WCs. I was a bit concerned about the compost toilets, but they are absolutely fine. No smells and much better than a chemical toilet! The showers are double size and the shampoo/body wash and conditioner are lovely (and eco friendly). Everything about the site is thoughtfully designed with nature and the environment in mind. We found it a great area, close to Cambridge and plenty of attractions. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay here!

Simply beautiful

A beautiful stay and lovely warm people. It felt very safe. Pleasant, clean and well-thought out facilities. The apple orchard is beautiful, it felt so special to be sleeping among the apple trees. Already planning to return and would recommend it to anyone.

Brilliant location and setup

Fantastic stay. One of the best locations we've seen. Love how self-supporting the place is. Setting is beautiful and well-maintained, pitch size very generous, occasional sounds of farm animals, which we like, but could possibly be bothersome. We got the juice and a cider made from the farm; cider was fine, juice was excellent. Close enough to Cambridge that we could cycle out there with our gear. Very reasonably priced for what you get, and so better value than many similarly priced but less nice spots, but it's not quite as budget-friendly as some other pretty decent, small ones within an hour or so. Non-flush toilets might be an issue for some - but I found them always clean, never smelly, frequently maintained/emptied - in fact, much better than many sites' plumbed offerings. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Best of all: unlike most sites, we weren't bothered by raucous people, music, drinking well past kids bedtime. Definitely recommended, and will go again if we get the chance!

Great getaway

We enjoyed a great stay here in the yurt. It was comfortable and cosy and very spacious. The yurt was located in a nice orchard and there was sufficient space between campers for them not to get on your nerves. The yurt comes with a wood burner but it was so warm, we didn't need to use it to keep warm. It rained heavily on our last night but the yurt was still warm and waterproof. We enjoyed the remoteness and wildness of the location. The service was great and the host very responsive and friendly. The site was close enough to both Cambridge and Ely to visit them by short car journey. We would highly recommend.

A perfect wild campsite close to Cambridge

A fantastic, secluded spot in a serene countryside orchard, only 20 minutes or so from Cambridge. We enjoyed a night under the stars and around the fire with their own homemade cider.

Perfect night's stay

Perfect night's stay for us to visit Cambridge for the day. Really relaxing campsite, with clean facilities and good eco values. Would definitely stay again.

Super site

Super little site. Has everything you need. Clean showers, kitchen area with kettles, two sinks for washing up, very helpful and informative host. We had a lovely weekend. Beware the apples! They fall in August.

Little gem

We had a wonderful 3 nights at Orchard at Fen End Farm with our children. There is plenty to explore locally, we cycled into Cambridge and visited the Farm Museum. The kitchen shed is great for making toast and cups of tea, charging devices and for having a chat with other campers. The 2 washrooms are so homely and no smell from the compost loo. Also, the facilities are spotless!
