Great chilled getaway!

Our stay here was great, Nick was so so lovely and looked after us greatly this weekend! The pods we stayed in were so lovely and clean and we were supplied with everything needed for a weekend stay. Again thank you so much Nick, we really appreciate everything you have done for us!

Such a peaceful, fabulous stay!

I initially booked the Badger Pod, for 2 nights for my husband's birthday getaway. I contacted the owner Nick for a possible upgrade to the Owl Pod, which he did with no problems at all. We were sent all the access details prior to arrival, so it was all done with ease. The Owl Pod is fabulous. An ideal amount of space for 2 adults and a dog for a short stay and well equipped. The surprise of an air fryer helped massively as there is no oven. The mapped out dog walk around the farm is great, especially as it leads to local dog friendly pubs! My only negative was that there was some dog mess on the path, possibly due to the absence/lack of bins on that stretch but still no excuse for dog owners! The hot tub is great, as is the outside area, which is fenced so the dog was safe and happy (as were we)! Great views and lovely to see the animals! The outdoor dog shower was super handy. It's such a peaceful, quiet area so we were well rested on leaving. We will definitely be back!

Badger pod with hot tub

Stayed in the Badger Pod with hot tub and had a fabulous time here, so peaceful and the views were amazing! The pod was lovely and all of them were unique, it was lovely and clean and had all the facilities we needed for a chilled weekend. Nick, the farmer, couldn't have been more helpful. Would definitely recommend it and will certainly be going back again.

Brilliant little retreat

Absolutely fantastic little glamping site. Stunning scenery and perfectly quiet. Couldn't beat sitting in the hot tub at night looking at the stars with my other half. Will definitely be going back.

Stunning views

Perfect Shepherds hut for our 4 night stay, the site had a beautiful walk all mowed and neat so easy to walk on and not over grown, the attend to detail is great. Would definitely stay again.

Fabulous stay

We had a great time. Peaceful site with beautiful scenery. The pod was spotless and well equipped with everything you need. Two lovely pubs within walking distance that do food, and are dog friendly. Will definitely return.

Good base to go exploring

Despite being in a seemingly remote farmland location, this is a good location to explore the surroundings, with north Wales resorts just over an hour away, as is Llangollen in the Welsh hills. To the east, the Peak District is not too far away. The historic parks of Lyme Hall and Little Moreton Hall are also in quite easy reach. There are no onsite shops, but the small town of Holmes Chapel has three supermarket “mini-stores” and several takeaways. The two local pubs, the Red Lion and The Old Pub (formerly Black Swan) can both be reached easily on foot. Both serve good food, with The Old Pub being rather more “high end” fare. The Owl Pod is perhaps the newest and very slightly largest of the four pods on site and has nearly all you could ask for. A bread knife, more crockery/cutlery and a dustpan and brush would have helped! The large dishwasher was barely a third full before we had to put it on, having run out of plates and cutlery. There is a long and well maintained grass path walk around the farm, which makes for a great dog walk. Grass areas in the site are kept immaculate by a robot lawnmower which kept our dog amused! The lack of recycling bins for glass, paper etc is disappointing in this day and age. The managers are helpful and quick to deal with any queries.

Peaceful weekend away

Lovely hot tub. Can come and go whenever you want. Remote location, with lovely views of mountains.

Weekend away

Easy to find, quiet location. Arrival is easy as have entry codes prior. Accommodation is clean and well spaced out pods. Great parking. Highly recommended and an easy walk to the pub.

Loved it

What a real gem, highly recommended. The grass cut dog walks are a real treat and the pods have everything you'll need for a doggie break. The site is clean and well presented and the local pubs are handy for a nice stroll with the doggies. We'll certainly be back before the year is out.

Amazing place!

Absolutely amazing, what a place. Fantastic if you want to relax and enjoy the fresh air, it is so clean and Nick has thought of everything. There are some lovely walks around the farm, we will definitely return.

A wonderful site

A very pleasant stay. Everything you could need is on site. A relaxed and chilled atmosphere,the pod is exceptional and comfortable. Hot tub was great and easily accessible. A great stay and will most definitely be booking again.

Excellent stay

Excellent location, clean, peaceful, easy self check-in, secure and relaxing!

Lovely hut

Lovely little hut had everything we needed. The only small thing I would say is maybe have a sofa bed so you can watch telly on the sofa, but really wasn't an issue

Fantastic location!

We booked our break at Welltrough as a remote break that was within a short drive from home. We arrived on Friday evening; the pod was all ready for us including a lovely warm hot tub. The location is ideal for a 'getting away from it all break' but is close enough to local amenities. Pod was clean, well-appointed and staff were on hand to answer any questions. Highly recommend.

Lovely break

We had a lovely weekend here. We have 2 dogs and thought they catered for everything. We liked that every pod was fully enclosed, which was great for our dogs, and the farm walk around the site was great. Loved the views, the location and the hot tubs.

Lovely weekend

Stayed for two nights in the badger pod and it was great! The hot tub looks out at the beautiful scenery and maintains the heat all day long, so we were able to get in and out as we pleased. The bed was really comfortable, the shower was great, the kitchen even had a dishwasher (which was handy) and the pod was enclosed with fencing around it, so we were able to let our dog walk around freely. It couldn't have been better.

Owl pod

We stayed at the owl pod and it was honestly amazing, I couldn't fault it. The only issue we had was there were a few flies but we will definitely be back again. The pod was a great size, the view was incredible and was just really peaceful. The pub located a 10 minute walk away was great, it was on the pricier side but was a nice country pub. The pod was really secluded, it was so quiet and tranquil.

Relaxing

Another fantastic stay in the Alpca pod. Ideal location, pod facilities are brilliant and Nick keeps the pods spotless. Will definitely be back.
