Perfect!

Really friendly staff and lovely campsite! The facilities were amazing would definitely stay again!

Brilliant

Site is lovely, quiet and secluded. The couple who run the site are lovely, chatting with campers whilst tenting to the sites needs. Highly recommend if you want a quiet area to stay whilst visiting the lakes.

2 night stay

2 night stay at this site. Access is via a couple of miles of narrow, single width, winding lanes. Rural location, a few minutes drive to a pub. Small shop on site, open a few hours early and late in the day, stocking some basic essential staples, bacon, eggs, coffee, ice-cream, fresh bakery and bread to order. (no beer or wine). Grass pitches. Level-ish ground, with gravel track through the middle. Toilet blocks with 3 toilets, 3 sinks and 3 showers in female facilities. Two outside washing up stations. Communal fridge for customer use. Fire pits available for hire, and logs for sale, but we didn't use one. We booked a grass pitch with electric and found the distance to the electric socket from our allocated pitch was too far to reach with our long cable. You would need at least 20m cable. Was told by staff member that they have extra long extensions available, but we managed without electric for our two night stay. Other clients on site seemed to be younger ages, in small social groups. If you want a rural, quiet and simple site then this is it.

Fabulous mini lodge

Just back from a lovely 4 night stay at Moss Howe Farm.. lovely clean site, friendly and helpful staff, freshly baked croissants and baguettes every morning. Our mini lodge was lovely and private, clean and spacious, separate outdoor kitchen with shelter. Peaceful and quiet.

Friendly, good for kids and couples and mixed groups

Lovely setting, clean and new showers. Friendly welcome by Fiona. Good selection for your favourite breakfasts. Lovely birdsong in the morning . Fire pits to use. Just campers and tents. Old school campsite. 👍

Brilliant

Loved it here, great facilities, clean & tidy. Lovely hot showers. Nice to be able to book pastries for breakfast. All in all a lovely quiet place to stay as long as there aren't inconsiderate people on their tv.

Nice campsite!

First time staying at Moss Howe Farm Campsite and we had a lovely stay! We had a large tent pitch and it was extremely difficult to get our tent pegs into the ground due to the site having limestone under the grass, so that was a challenge. Luckily, the reception/shop on site sold "rock pegs" so we bought as many as we could and they did the trick and held the guide ropes in well. Toilet block was decent, only downside is the showers as at one point it was a dribble of scorching hot water, and they only stay on for about 30 secs at a time (similar to leisure centre showers). Would definitely recommend as overall, a lovely site, just need to ensure you have super strong pegs due to solid ground!

Great stay

We had a great stay in this rural site very peaceful and relaxing. The facilities were clean and the staff very helpful. This is our first visit to The Lakes area so Moss Howe was a good start on our trip, but so much rain!

Family trip

Very nice site with clean and modern facilities. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back again.

Great little spot

We only stopped for one night mid journey from London to Scotland, perfect midway point. Lovely site, peaceful and tranquil. Didn't use any of the facilities on this occasion so can't review these, but it all looked nice and clean.

Our stay

The shower sensors are very sensitive, prefer to have push button. Probably a small storage cabinet in shower for all bits rather than to bend and potentially cause a bad back. Men's bathroom sensors kept turning off due to flow of traffic, potentially may need another one somewhere else in the bathroom.

Great little camp site

We stayed at Moss for 4 days. What a great site, it is located in lovely picturesque farmland and perfect for touring the lakes. The pitches are spacious and mostly level, there is a very well stocked shop, great shower block and a communal games area. Their best asset though is the young gentleman that runs the site and shop, we found him very helpful, with plenty of advice on the area and a pleasure to chat to. We will definitely be staying there again.

Just what I needed!

5 stars without a doubt! Fantastic place so peaceful and relaxing just what we needed. Really helpful staff, facilities are modern and very clean. Absolutely loved this place will definitely come back.

Nice campsite

Beautiful campsite, staff were very friendly and helpful. That campsite shop is sweet and has a lot of useful items. WIFI is excellent. Showers and toilets are clean but showering is hard. The shower head has a sensor to turn it on which doesn't work very well leading to the shower turning off every few seconds. A real pain in cold weather. Low water pressure too.

Yurt at Moss

The view and location is beautiful. The yurt expected to be cleaner. Mattresses are not comfy at all. The facilities are shared with the campsite, so gets very busy and dirty. Showers only work sometimes and water is either very cold or burning. We enjoyed hot tub, but paid for to be ready to use on arrival and the water was not hot enough. We did have a nice time.

Absolutely amazing

Lovely short stay with staff being incredibly helpful, especially the young man at reception. Place was very clean and well looked after, bathrooms were always spotless with plenty of hot running water. Only downside unfortunately is the other people staying at the campsite. However, staff were quick to tell people to be more quiet and turn music down. Overall, lovely experience.

Fantastic campsite

Can't recommend this highly enough! Will was lovely and helpful, talked us through everything on site and even gave us a few recommendations for things to do in the local area. Campsite itself is beautiful and very well located for access to Coniston Lake and Windermere. Added bonus of fresh croissants and pain au chocolates available first thing in the morning, need to pre book these the night before. Shop on site closes at 6:30pm so make sure to arrive before then to got the order in. Toilets/showers newly refurbished and kept clean by the staff, just an overall great campsite. We will definitely be returning!

Really good

Really clean and friendly staff, super peaceful location. Will was eagerly helpful recommending where to go and made the whole experience really lovely.

It was a nice site with friendly staff

However, although it is a nice site, not really set up for campervans staying more than one night. There is no Elsan point, drinking water supply or grey water disposal point. The site needs an Elsan point, drinking water supply and grey waste disposal for campers etc.

Hi Gary, Glad you liked our slice of Lake District paradise. I'm sorry you felt that you would not be able to stay longer than one night in your campervan. We do have a facility for topping up drinking water, you just needed to ask at reception and we could have provided you with a hose we keep specifically for this purpose. We don't currently have a waste disposal point but this isn't something we advertise as being available on site either. We only fairly recently took over the site and have made many improvements to the overall camping experience. Adding a waste disposal point for campervans is very much on the list, especially as we plan to open all year next year. We do however have many campervans come and stay with us for multiple nights without issue. We hope you will come back and stay with us another time as we continue to develop the site. Lovely, with great pizza

A great place. It was the end of the season when I stayed, it was really quiet. Lovely flat pitches and well signposted through lanes from the main road. The facilities were good and clean. The onsite shop was well stocked and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Peaceful, beautiful, perfect

This site was one of the highlights of our trip to the lakes and completely unexpected. This is a gem of a site, with beautiful views, great loo block (clean and spacious), small shop with plenty of items, hot drinks (the hot chocolate was delicious!) and the most peaceful feeling. We absolutely loved visiting this site, and will definitely go back. They were mowing most of the day, which was a little annoying for noise, but we think there was a problem with the mower, so all is forgiven! It's worth noting that no one is at reception until 4pm, but the pitches were on a whiteboard and easy to find. Thank you for a lovely stay!
