Clear filters Brilliant campsite, very good value
Medium Tent - Large Grass Camping Pitches (Optional Electric) Jul 2024 Brilliant campsite, friendly rep who greeted us on site with lots of useful information.
Location was easy to find and tent pitches clearly marked, location was easy to drive to the lakes and local towns and restaurants. The pitches are huge, we had 2 x 4 man tents and easily fit on one pitch no problems at all lots of space all the way around us. Toilets and showers were surprisingly very clean and hot showers very easy to use and close to pitches.
The onsite cafe for breakfast was okay, not the best not the worst. We first ordered pancakes and couldn't touch them as the homemade syrup was poor, but the staff quickly refunded us and let us switch for a hot breakfast which was lovely.
Lovely campsite, will be staying again!
A great place to stay
Large Tent - Large Grass Camping Pitches (Optional Electric) Jul 2024 We had a brilliant time at Sizergh! Our 10-year-old son, who had never been camping before, absolutely loved it. The campsite is well-kept and clean, and the staff were lovely and helpful throughout our stay.
The farm shop and café are charming. There is even the chance to watch cows being milked from the café daily—an interesting and unique experience. Taking a walk around the farm trail was a highlight, leading us through beautiful trees and fields. It's definitely worthwhile.
There is also plenty to do nearby, we visited Lakeland Maze Farm Park, which has an excellent massive outdoor play area, a petting farm with llamas, goats, guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs, cows, sheep etc. Separate soft play areas for under 3 and over 3. The tractor ride was a hit, it gives a fun tour and an interesting history of their farm.
Sizergh Castle is right next door. As National Trust members, we got free entry, but even without the membership, it's well worth the visit, despite the cost. The local pub, just a five-minute walk away served lovely freshly cooked food, it was cosy and welcoming too. The nearest supermarket was Asda in Kendal and was only a 5-10 minute drive away so it's handy.
While some people have mentioned road noise, we didn't notice it enough to be bothered by it at all.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already talking about going back - would definitely recommend this site to anyone looking for a great camping experience.

Great little campsite Medium Tent - Large Grass Camping Pitches (Optional Electric) Jul 2024 Lovely small campsite, we will definitely be coming back. Fires are not permitted which is a shame, and the duel carriage way is a bit noisy. Other than that, it's great. Shower block is immaculate!

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring Pitches Jun 2024 Fabulous little campsite. Facilities were spotless and the extras such as a kettle freezers and drying room would be great if you were camping. Lovely farm shop with some very tempting products. Very handy for western lakes.

Large Tent - Large Grass Camping Pitches (Optional Electric) Jun 2024 For our first camping trip as a family, this site will be a hard one to beat. Great location for exploring the Lakes with a friendly atmosphere. Yes it is near a dual carriageway, but this didn't impact our stay. Can't wait to return.

Small Tent - Medium Grass Camping Pitches (Optional Electric) Mar 2024 Absolutely fantastic stay, a great location for trips around the Lake District, Helvellyn around 40 minute drive for those looking to hike.
Facilities were clean and modern, the showers were brilliant! A farm shop on site for some local produce and cows on site too 😁 We will definitely book again.
Suited us
Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring Pitches Oct 2023 This was our first experience of hiring a motorhome and wanted a location that was getting us closer to the Lakes after visiting family in Preston.
We were able to catch a bus from a short walk away and we saw many of the lakes from the top deck. The farm shop is lovely and we arrived in time to watch milking whilst we ate in the cafe. A lovely hot shower every night in a very clean toilet block and electric hook up. A quiet 2 nights sleep. Owner checked in with us and gave us lots of helpful camping tips (for newbies) and local information. Very helpful.
Would stop here again as would love to try out the onsite pod for camping.
Great site
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring Pitches Oct 2023 Great site for us, ideally located for Southern Lakes access/ Vale of Lune.
Immaculate modern facilities. Very peaceful due to the time of year, there is road noise from the proximity dual carriageway, but it didn't bother us at all.
Fabulous views, great farm shop and cafe - hard-working dairy farm, lovely to watch the cattle to and fro.
Pitches well kept and large and fully serviced - we enjoyed it.
Lovely campsite
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring Pitches Sep 2023 Lovely site. Nice and peaceful. Serviced pitch was excellent. Probably one of the best we have stayed at. The farm shop does lovely food, especially the pies. Only one thing to watch out for is the very tight right turn going down into the campsite. Either take it wide or go round the car park and straight down the hill.

On site is a well-stocked and very popular farm shop. Excellent, modern and clean facilities. Pitch was first class with new type hookups and drain. Level gravel pitch with grass alongside.
Customer service for campers is good with attentive staff.

Have great toilet and shower facilities. Cute little farm shop and cafe right next to the campsite and next door to the castle. 20 mins from Windermere and close to Ambleside. Would definitely come again. <3

Small Tent - Small Grass Camping Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2023 We had a lovely stay at the campsite. Great location for travelling to Windermere, the centre of Kendal and more walks than you could ever imagine. The campsite is near to the farm shop, café and milking shed, which adds to the authenticity of the place. The toilets and showers are clean with plenty of lighting for midnight trips. We would 100% recommend the campsite.

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring Pitches Aug 2023 First class facilities and very clean. Downside. Unisex toilets and shower facilities which caused some people on site a little discomfort, especially as there were only two actual toilets.
The shop could do to revisit its pricing levels, as I felt £4.00 for a sliced loaf is a tad excessive and other items were equally as expensive.

Medium Tent - Medium Grass Camping Pitches (Optional Electric) Jul 2023 Fantastic little campsite with amazing farm shop and café on site and a great pub/restaurant within walking distance.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with walks around Sizergh Castle and to The Helm Fell walks that can be started and ended at the campsite.
The facilities were some of the best and cleanest we have ever been to and the staff here were excellent and very friendly.
A+++ would stay here again.
Amazing value for money!
Medium Tent - Medium Grass Camping Pitches (Optional Electric) Jul 2023 Great campsite, clean, tidy, nice location. Farm shop on site. Really good price point. Easy location to get to if coming from south. Only slight down side is the road noise, although this is minimal.
All in all great service would stay again.
