Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Sep 2022 Brilliant site despite the weather. Lovely people run it. Small and friendly. Nice clean facilities. A bit of an incline in the field we were on but easy to get used to. Will be going again.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Sep 2022 We were very happy with our stay in general.
There are a few facilities that could be updated in relation to the shower and toilet blocks, some of the flooring and fittings could do with replacing.
The site is quite close to the M6 and other major roads. This was not a problem during the day but in the night, it was very noticeable.

Thank you for your review and recommendation on Campsites.co.uk, Phill. We've recently had planning permission granted for a new (and much larger) shower, loo and laundry block which will be getting built this winter. Your stay with us coincided with the Westmorland County Show, which is only a 1/4 mile from Little Acre and involves a lot of additional vehicle movements (especially at night) as livestock and materials are taken from the show field and replenished each day.

Cracking little gem of a site

Lovely walk with dog by the canal. Round the corner from a gastropub. What more could you ask for.
On top of all that, first class service welcome and facilities.

Absolutely loved it
Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2022 Had a 3 day stay at this little gem of a site. Lovely grass to pitch on. Very clean and tidy. The guy in reception is lovely, couldn't help us enough. The facilities in the main block are really nice and clean. However more facilities are needed closer to the camping area, but I am aware this is happening next year. The only fault I had was more lighting round the site is needed. I took dog out at 1:30 in morning and it was pitch black and scared me to death walking on my own at that time even with the torch. I would recommend this site to family and friends and would definitely go back again.

The additional lighting is a toughie! We make sure that the loo block areas and pathways have subdued lighting around them, but we've deliberately kept lighting on the tent field to the absolute minimum - and the reason why? We get multiple people each year telling us how nice it is to have an unlit camping area where you can watch the stars at night. See you next year, Paul.

Great little site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2022 Fantastic site which is well situated for the Southern Lake District. The site is well kept with very good amenities. Staff were very welcoming & friendly.
The Lancaster Canal is straight outside the gate and the Crooklands Hotel across the road serve excellent meals.
A quiet site but there is some road noise. However, this did not disturb us.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2022 We booked this site because it was dog 🐕 friendly with lots of walks and water for our dog. Toilets and showers were always clean and tidy and the owners always put us on the right path for anything we wanted.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2022 We stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time. The site is a mixture of tents, tourers and motorhomes.
Really friendly from the outset and lovely location to access the dales. Easy access to Windermere and Kendal.
Will return to the site in the future.

Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2022 This is a lovely quiet place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the regular tourist attractions. The site owners go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Our family will be going back next year.

Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2022 Limited toilets and showers for the size of the site and the amount of people staying on there. It's 20p for 3 minutes for the showers.

Hello Jade. I agree with you that additional showers and loos would be useful, although you may not have used the larger shower and loo block that was available to you during your stay? The good news is that we have recently gained planning permission for a much larger loo, shower and laundry block and this will be constructed this winter.
It is disappointing to me that you have given our facilities and cleanliness 2* ratings, as during your stay the shower and loo blocks were cleaned and restocked 4 times a day. Other reviews from the same time as you were here have awarded us 5*.
I try as hard as I can to make sure that every persons stay is as enjoyable as possible, so to see a 3* rating for standard of service isn't good. Other then when you arrived and I showed you to your pitch, I can only recall one occasion when you needed my help and I thought that I'd resolved your issue to your complete satisfaction. Sorry if that wasn't the case!

Great little find
Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2022 Just back from a lovely 5 night stay.
Site was in great location - we visited Windermere, Arnside, Morecambe. Crooklands pub a 5 min walk away and meal there was fantastic. Accessible stream a few minutes down the lane which was great to cool our dog down in the heat.
Paul was very friendly and helpful and always came round the site each day to say hello and check everything was okay. Priced a little more than we would usually pay as having an 8 man tent attracted a further charge.
This did not detract from the stay and we wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.

A little gem of a find!
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2022 From the moment of booking, Paul went out his way to make sure we had all the details we needed to ensure a great stay! We arrived on site and Paul was extremely helpful and greeted us with a smile! Nothing was too much trouble over our stay.
The facilities were of a high standard and very clean, with a short walk to the pub/hotel (need to book in advance as it's always busy!) There's some lovely walks close by, which we did with the children, with a little stream to paddle in close by! Kendal is a 10-15 minute drive one way and 20mins the other way is Arnside beach. Greta location and lovely site! We will deffo be back!

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2022 What a lovely little camp site. Not too big but enough facilities and close enough to a small shop. The whole site was clean and tidy. Paul was really friendly and helpful.
Great for dogs and kids with a lovely canal walk right next to it. Would not hesitate to go back. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Lovely stay!
Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2022 Really enjoyed our stay here. I'm not a camper and took some convincing to even book anywhere, but after our weekend here I'd happily camp again! Really friendly hosts, clean and warm facilities (a definite essential for me!) and the field wasn't overcrowded so we had plenty of space on our pitch. We booked dinner at the nearby pub one night and it was just a 2 minute walk away so very handy.
Easy access to the towpath too for a walk - we went for a little meander and ended up taking a short narrowboat ride, which was unexpected but lovely.
Great for families too, and nice and quiet at night (apart from the nearby Scout jamboree, but that was a one off!).

Beautiful site
Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2022 Beautiful site, really well maintained. Paul and Sarah are a lovely couple. Showers, toilets and washroom really nice and clean. Only 30 mins from Windermere, will definitely stay there again.

Great trip
Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2022 The family that run the site are so nice and were so welcoming to us when we arrived, and even helped us find a few walks while we were there. Great people were surrounding us and although you might have to drive 30 minutes to get some good walks in, the site was great value for money.

First camping holiday
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2022 This was our first time camping and we could not have picked a better site. Lots of room for each tent, not over crowded. Paul was so helpful and made us feel welcome as we arrived. We have booked to go again, great for the dog as dogs stay on leads so an extended lead is great. Only wish there were 2 toilets together, this would would be better but not a problem.
We had a lovely time for our first camping experience. Definitely would recommend.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2022 I found Little Acres to be perfect for my needs. The owner was very friendly and helpful, the site itself wasn't too busy so had enough room and privacy, the location was very nice with views across the fields and easy access to the main road. There is a good pub just a minute's walk away.

Thank you Michael. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Whilst you were at Little Acre I turned the shower temp down by a few degrees, as I thought that a warm shower in the heatwave would be more enjoyable.
