Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 Lovely site.
Very welcoming, toilets some of the cleanest / most modern we've seen. Pub close by and nice walks.
Lovely little spot especially if you're stopping enroute mid country.

Recommendation that didn't disappoint
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 Welcoming campsite, very clean and well maintained.
I've even looked at how to nominate for the campsite loo of the year awards! The showers are well worth the 20p (I would do this at every site if they were as good as these).
Just across the road from a pub and the bus stop which is twice hourly into Kendal (20min bus ride).

Great little site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 This is a lovely clean little site, had an issue with my hook up cable when we got there.
Site manager soon had it sorted for me as he had a spare cable that I borrowed. Very friendly and welcoming, great location just outside Kendal next to the canal, nice flat walks along the towpath. Would definitely recommend and would be happy to book again.

Immaculate site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 Lovely site with top spec facilities. Made us feel very welcome, nice walks along the canal and a community pub and also a restaurant within walking distance.
Ideally placed for visiting the lakes. We only did one night but would look to stop longer in the future. Nice big pitches, we chose gravel. Very tidy site with 2 amenities blocks.
Showers are charged at 20p for 3 mins, worth every penny as they are nice and hot, and have shampoo/conditioner/bodywash available, so make sure you have a stash of 20ps as this is all the meter takes. Each separate toilet has a sink and hand dryer in the room. There is also a hairdryer to use. Washing up area has drainers and washing up liquid. There were laundry facilities but didn't use.
Is on a slope on some pitches, so take levellers, we were fine. Dog friendly and my pooch loved watching the ducks roaming around.

Great little site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 Great little site, a lot of thought gone into making your stay as nice as possible.
Nice walks from site, Along canal one direction will take you to garage with shop, the other towards Kendal, bus stop out side pub which is just one 1min walk away. Pub has great food .

The best campsite facilities
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 This campsite exceeded my expectations.
Easy to find from the motorway; we were made to feel very welcome on arrival, as were the dogs! And the facilities were the best we have had on a campsite.
Just remember to have your 20p coins ready for the shower which you can get from the campsite reception.

Great Place for our First Stay
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Small Pitch Jun 2025 This was our first overnight with a camper van and both the location and facilities were excellent for us.
We arrived after closing time but had clear email directions on how to find the site and our pitch. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless and in great shape. Need a 20p coin for a shower.
The nearby canal towpath was a lovely, quiet route for a walk or run. Overall very happy with our stay and would go back.

Gorgeous canal walks alongside the campsite were brilliant for our dog.

Yes, it's in the middle of nowhere, but it's beautiful and tranquil. There's a lovely dog walk by the canal, a pub across the road, what more do you need!

Lovely clean and friendly site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 Great little site with really good, clean facilities.
The site manager was very friendly, and the Crooklands Hotel was very close for a pleasant drink.
Had a great 6k run along the canal in the morning, a really beautiful setting, turn left on joining and it's about 3k on the towpath to the end, then run back again!

Since the canal towpath was renovated to a proper hard surfaced area, there are a lot more people enjoying a run, jog or stroll along its length.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 A gorgeous site with excellent facilities. Lovely and peaceful, right opposite the canal and a super pub 2 mins walk across the bridge.
Wi-Fi signal is good and easy access to all facilities. Toilets and shower have lovely touches such as flowers, diffusers, hair dryers, shower ge,l shampoo, cotton balls etc. Nice little homely feel.

Great little campsite
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 This is a lovely quiet little campsite with amazing facilities. Definitely one of the best we have stayed at. The pitches are a very decent size too. We will definitely be adding it to our list and will be back again!

Do not be put off by the 20p showers for 3 mins, they are great showers, much better than the annoying push ones.

Stopover en route south from Scotland
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 We stopped here on the way south after being in Scotland.
It's very convenient from the M6 but far enough away so that motorway noise is minimal. Some of the hard standing pitches are quite sloping and really need re-levelling but overall, the site is good.
Shower block excellent and a great pub/restaurant opposite. Nice walks or cycle ride along the adjacent canal.

Thank you for choosing us for your recent 1 night stopover. Yes, some of the pitches have a very gentle slope on them and for those pitches I leave levelling ramps, so that people can get themselves "just right". The vast majority of pitches have no need for chocks or ramps as they are as flat as flat.

Great facilities, good size pitches, high level of cleanliness with little extras. Friendly site manager who was really helpful when asked for local directions and advice. Great value for money, will definitely return.
